Anyone else can honestly say characters from film and television have changed you as a person? Who and how?

I will start.

Xander Cage(XXX) and Jack Sparrow(Pirates) probably(okay, maybe) contributed heavily to my independent and borderline anarchist views on government. Dr Greg House(House MD) solidified my brutally honest and logical views of people.

Who next?

Finn Hudson from Glee. He taught me to love, to do what I love, even if it makes me a social outcast. Rest in peace, baby.

Xena from Xena: Warrior Princess. She taught me to stand up for what's right, to fight, to never give up, and that anyone can change for the better.

Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess: She taught me to love, and the true meaning of friendship.

Can we add music and books to this? They have made me the person I am today as much as television has.

I could probably list so many here, but I'm going to go with two characters I love.

John Locke of Lost - Taught me to never give up.

Joel Barish of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Taught me about true love. This is one of my favorite films of all time, I'm even getting a quote from it tattoed on my wrist.

Probably Danny (Edward Furlong) from American History X. Kind of reminded me in a jarring way that hate, no matter who and what it is directed towards, big or small, is just a waste of time and gets you nowhere. Definitely a thinking movie.

I would say Dexter Morgan from Dexter. No, I am not a serial killer, but his points are reasonable about love and other stuff. No, I don't have psychopathic feelings

Gosh, I've watched so many movies and television shows in my lifetime (which, truth be told is rather short) that it's hard to tell.

I contribute the fact that I genuinely don't give a damn about what other people think about me to Luna Lovegood, who stayed true to herself to matter what other people thought of her. Likewise, I contribute my love of reading and studying to Hermione Granger.

My insanity can be contributed to Jack Sparrow, my desire to fight for what I believe in no matter what the consequences goes out to every hero or person who has ever died in a film doing just that. To Remus & Tonks, Brom, and many others..

My brutal honesty comes from Wolverine, who always spoke his mind in every situation.

My ability to admit I was wrong comes largely from Luke Castellan.

And I will always and forever credit my desire to be an author to Laura Ingalls Wilder.
