Hmm.. My favorite book(s). That's a difficult one xD I guess I'll have to say either Harry Potter, Gone or The Picture of Dorian Gray. I like fantasy, but fantasy combined with horror is definitely the best genre ^^

Fantasy! But I have quite a few favourites. Harry Potter's definitely one of them, and another is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Also The Magician's Elephant and The Tale of Desperaux, both by Kate DiCammilo. I'm not entirely sure if those two come under fantasy, though.

I voted Other, by which I meant speculative fiction (I don't think it falls neatly under fantasy). My favourite book in that genre would likely be Ben Okri's The Famished Road, or possibly Murakami's Kafka On the Shore.

I am not sure what my favorite sci-fi book is because I haven't been able to get my hands on a lot of them. Most of my inspiration comes from movies, games, and TV shows.
"Tears in the Rain" was pretty interesting, though there some obvious flaws in it that keep my aware in my own writing.

I don't fully focus on reading one genre of works; instead I stick with a cycle. I read this genre, then another different one etc. etc. until I come back with the first genre I started with. I think it's my way of learning; different genres every now and then help me learn technique and genre-mixing.
Although, I think the best, not actually favorite, type of fiction is, for me, realistic. Books from Paulo Coelho and Mitch Albom line my realistic fiction collection
