I've made a list of challenges. If you complete them all, you're a poetry master or mistress and you'll be added to the wall of awesomeness. You can use one poem for multiple challenges, and poems you've already written apply as well.

You Didn't Remember
If you ask for forgiveness
I'll hit you one more time
Tears slide down your face
Making a permanent line
Coz I want it now
No need to slow down
Do you love me or hate me?
Still you make no sound

I waited up all night for you to see
How exactly you're ruining me

You blame it on memory
But we all know that's false
You're trying to forget me
Without a trace at all

Holding hands for the first time in a while
But still you seem so reluctant to smile

The progression's delayed again
Expose your true feelings
Spill out your confessions
Or we'll be stuck here

Can I ever tell you my thoughts?
Or would it make you too distraught?

You didn't remember
You didn't remember
To avoid superstition
And superstition can kill

Your world's not safe from your condition
To free you is my mission
You don't look well, so I go to hold you

Do people feel they have to take
tiny spoonfuls of me,
like I do with hot tea?

Another question - what if one poem applies to two or more challenges?

MISSING JIGSAW PIECE



There were times when
I felt close to truly
loving him 
again.

My stony bitterness would
regress to a
childlike adoration;
I’d dust off my innocence -
cracked plaster, shelved
since I was ten.

And for a moment, 
that mask would fit my mouth
like a rediscovered jigsaw piece.

But the night I thought my
prayers would be answered,
my father turned left 
and took me
home.
He didn't approve of
my invocations.

That night I waited -
suspended in my room
in dread and in anger.
Mentally, I had just opened
the first window and
had one foot hanging over the edge
when I heard footsteps
on the stairs.

His eyes bore through me,
scraping cartilage and bone
and marrow, and I was certain
they would crack from the
pressure when he said
I had shamed both my
Fathers.

I apologized
for being a deceitful
daughter, and
he patted my back and 
murmured, "all is forgiven" -
disgust tickled the back
of my throat.
Tell me, who wants to be
granted amnesty for
their sawdust,
while the stick in
the eye of their pardoner
remains overlooked?

That was when I discovered
my eyes had morphed
from nondescript
to green.
I wrote my first poem
about how maybe tears
are acidic in that
they can strip
a person of the comfort
in muffling reality, without
permission.

So, yes - I’m bruised inside,
and subtle gestures of
someone else’s paternal love
are like individual shards
embedding in my desire for
unconditional.

To hear my mother say,
"That's how he was with you" -
it reminds me that 
"was" now carries
the same weight as "how things 
used to be".

I'm making it my mission to do all challenges

Lebensraum
I need space
So I can live
Without fear of this
Or that or me or you
So I can breath fresh air
That hasn't decayed
As a result of marching
And fire and death

3- Write a haiku--2 pts. Okie-dokie.

Window Sill Pattern
There is a pattern
Of rain, sliding down slowly
Down my window sill

3. Haiku time!

a boy told me once
that I looked good in the wind.
what a compliment!
