I'm new here! (obviously)

I'm a really weird person who likes to do a lot of really cool things like writing, and listening to rock music. I'm a huge fan of German soap operas (they are addicting), and I really enjoy reading poetry.
So, hit me up with good pieces, and I'll do the same for you.

Anyways, you're now here, the bestest, craziest and insanest humanities forum site you'll ever stumble in to. In our ring-ring minds though, is the awesome power of creativity we use to write and review which I know you'll soon have! I do hope you'll stay around for a long while and absorb the awesome-ness that is US.

Weirdness and rock music? There are people who're just like that here. You just need to find them. How to find them? Read, review works, share at the forums and be super nice! With those actions, you SHALL ROCK.

Welcome to YWS, Simba! I'm a mentor here that goes by Cas.

First of all, dude, I watched The Lion King basically every day when I was three. I will glomp you for just prompting nostalgia. -glomps- Oooh, now what kind of rock music? I love many bands/artists who all have some sort of rockish songs. R.E.M., Manchester Orchestra, The National, Wild Sweet Orange (see: Preston Lovinggood), Paper Route, Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, David Ford, Shiny Toy Guns, etc. You?

German soap operas? :> Never watched one, but am working on learning German.

I write poetry! Free verse poetry, mostly. I'm also sort of 'in love' with Charles Baudelaire currently. He is known for his prose poetry. Many of his works can be found for free on the 'net. Anyway, I'm off to R&R your first posted poem!

I hope you have a fantastic time on YWS! We're all super friendly and helpful, and as you can see from niteowl's gift, we pretty much have the best emoticons ever. ^^

If you want some help getting started, the guys in green are moderators, and they have all the answers to YWS life. We also have a mentor system, which can be found here. You can scan through the mentor profiles and message one you think might be a good fit. We'll stick around with you for a month, introducing you to new members, reviewing your work, and just chatting. Usually, we maintain contact after the one-month mentorship has expired.

I think you'll find you'll fit in so well. There are so many new things to do, like contests or joining clubs or storybooking as well as the usual socialising, posting on forums and reviewing. It's awesome. You'll love it. :3

What kind of stuff do you like to write?

Also, rock music? *high fives* I love it too. What subgenre do you listen to, or are you non-tribal with your music? I like symph, personally. I'm weird like that. (Yay European rock!)
