I thrusted the scythe up into the air, the wind vibrating and humming around it. I ran towards the first man I saw, a guy, no a boy, no older than 17. The scythe collided with the ground in front of the boy and he dropped his rifle in fright. I grabbed the scythe again and swung it to the left, slicing the boy in half.
I felt a twinge of regret, after all, the boy still had a life to live, but he instead just picked up with the "cool" guys and started hunting monsters. The regret disappeared as a dozen or so bullets flew past my face.
In the corner of my eye, I saw Buru change into his true form. His claws extended and his skin hardened and formed scales around his body. His legs shortened and his arms elongated until they were the same length. His eyes blurred, his iris spilling out of his eyes, brown lines of liquid leaking down his narrowing face until they disappeared. His eyes were now yellow. He looked like a crocodile standing on two legs. Somehow, he could still run, almost even faster than before.
My skin cringed a bit looking at this. I was the master of Integration. I wasn't a monster, persay, but I wasn't human either, which made the humans hunt me just the same. Anyway, my ancestor, Quetzalcoatl, created the first Buru. Two months later, after he had created over two hundred of the Buru, they invaded his palace and killed everyone, all except for his son. Ever since, our two bloodlines have been at each other's necks.
A few bullets punctured my cloak, which brought me out of my thoughts. I charged a middle-aged man with a beard that went down to his chest. I deflected his shotgun blast with my scythe and rammed the hilt of my weapon into his chest. The scythe hummed, and a blast of blue energy washed through him, burning him from the inside out.
I ignored the now husk of a man and shadowed Buru as he ran through the trees, tearing through human flesh. He had no need to fear bullets, for they just bounced off. The only place he was vunerable at was his two eyes.
I jumped over the ruins of a man and landed on a tree branch. Hopping from branch to branch, I still saw the outline of Buru running through the brush, killing each hunter before they even knew what happened.
I smiled. He had this in the bag. I didn't even need to help him--
A large crack sounded through the woods and Buru fell.
"No!" I jumped through the branches. Another crack and my vision blurred.

I don't intend for either of us to die. I think it would be interesting if we were captured or something. Lemme know what you think, Buru
