Well may I be the first, second at least in this thread, to welcome you to YWS!!!
WELCOME!!! :elephant:

So since you’re new here, why don’t you tell us a little more about yourself? Like, um, like…

What do you like to write?
And what do you like to read?
What’s your favorite color?
When did you first start writing, what was it?
Bananas, Tomatoes, or Pickles?
When a tree falls in the forest and there’s no person around to hear it fall, does it fall on a frog or a squirrel?

And no worries about the feeling lost thing. We all feel a bit lost when we first show up at YWS, well, at least I did too. But no worries, it’s pretty easy. The navigation tabs up top are the most important to know.
The little tab with the house will take you to the home page (der) where you can find site-wide messages, reviewing leaderboard stats and recently written works as well as a list of the recently popular works as well.
The gear tab will take you to a page that will help you edit your personal settings. Pretty standard user control panel. It’s definitely a scary place in my opinion but you can use it to customize your YWS experience.
The forums tab will take you to all of the non-literature based threads which you must have found because you already found the Welcome Mat. We also have an Art and Photography forum there as well where you can post and comment on art works.
The literary tab is definitely a busy place but for the most part, it’s dedicated well, the writing part of YWS. Poetry, prose, and everything in between. If you want to review others works, you can go here to browse for things. The Green Room tab is pretty similar but it features works that have been recently posted or haven’t been reviewed or only have a single review.
You can check out the status updates of your friends on YWS but checking out the People tab and where you can update your status as well. Kind of like Facebook but way more fun because it’s YWS. :D
I’m honestly not well versed in what goes on behind the big scary curtain that is the Storybook tab but I’ve heard it can be a lot of fun over there. So if you’re interested in Storybooking here on YWS, definitely check it out.
Lastly is the blogs tab. Everyone at YWS automatically also gets a nifty blog that you can customize and update as they wish.

That’s probably a lot to take in but I have faith in you. :D You can also check out the chatroom if you want to chat with other members. You can get there from the home tab as well.

I hope that isn’t too much to process. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Welcome to YWS, Serenya!

If you ever have any questions or need any help, be sure to talk to one of the guys in green (or yellow, or red, they just aren't as easily alliterated,) or check The Writer's Corner for a possible answer. Lilymore is right, Storybooks are WAY fun. If you have any more questions or you want a review or something, feel free to PM me. Nice to meet you, and have fun! I have a feeling you'll like it here.
Review unto others as you would have others review unto you.

Don't panic!

Also, Shino!

HEYA SERENYA! :D Welcome to the Young Writers Society, a family of writers, readers and artists aimed for each and everyone's development!

Little lost? Then don't be afraid to drop by the Welcome Mat area, everything you need to know is pretty much there :D :D :D *crackles right eye*

After getting a bit more familiar with everything, try navigating through the different forums. Check if you can meet other writer with the same interest and see if you can help others develop, too. If you want, post a topic at the forums. Or better, post a literary work, your poems, stories etc. We've a lot of reviewers here (i.e. all of us), so don't worry, you'll get the most honest second opinions here at YWS!

Once again, welcome! If you've any questions, drop by my lovely wall anytime ala social networks :) Well this is one, too!

Yours indefinitely,
Alf :)

P.S. Sorry for the hyperactivity. It's all because of highly caffeinated tea's fault!
Need some feed? Then read some! Take a look at today's Squills at In the News.
