Saria. The Jewel of the West. A shining city of white spires and busy streets perched in the heart of a desert. Surrounded by wild creatures, bandits and other invaders. Watched over by the careful eye of its ruler.

It is said that almost anything can be found there, from silks and spices to rare texts and magical artifacts. And if you don’t find what you are seeking in the bustling markets, the busy underground is always happy to assist, for a price.

Many would love to have control of this lucrative place, and truthfully it would be simple enough to take the city, but a careful web of alliances makes it difficult for anyone to attack without causing a war.

Thus the citizens of Saria are left to fight among themselves. The merchants and artisans are already some of Sarians most influential citizens, but they want the extras that come with being in favour. But the Mages guild wants the same for themselves. The soldiers on the other hand are concerned mostly with keeping the city safe. Not an easy task when crime run rampant to the point where it’s dangerous to walk the streets at night. Still, the city moves in its delicate dance of influence and intention.

But word comes from the palace. King Emeer is dead. Murdered in his bed.

The search for his killer will be overshadowed by the question of who will hold power next. Who will be named heir? Who will be in control of the vast wealth and glory that Saria represents?

Okay, so...Welcome! This is my rp for a world set in a kind of fantastical version of Arabia (think Aladdin). Mostly it seems to be about the fight for the throne, but we'll see what other hi-jinks ensue. <3

Suggestions include:

Princes and Princesses – children of Emeer or their spouses

Queens - The wives of the late king

(Note: Those in the royal family will be expected to work closely with the other members in order to ensue back-story continuity)

Palace Officials and staff – from advisers to stable-hands

Ambassadors – dignitaries from other countries. Very important to Saria’s well-being. Frequently have their own agenda/

Merchants guild: The most influential guild, due to Saria’s reliance on trade. Made up of both local shopkeepers and the leaders of frequently passing caravans

Artisans guild: Main rival of the merchants. Anyone with a trade joins this guild

Artists guild: Dancers, singers, etc.

Sorcerers guild: Also very powerful, seeking control of the city. Not all magic users join the guild, but those without it are excluded.

Thieves guild: (unofficially recognized): The underground, rulers of the night. An assortment of criminals organized under the so-called Prince of Thieves. Tend to be pretty hard on criminals that they are not associated with. Turf wars are common.

Other Criminals: Those not allied with the court

(Another note: Leah is especially encouraging criminals of both types)

Paupers, anyone who has refused to join a guild, or travelers. Anything goes really

Spoiler
Name: (Self explanatory)

Age: (Ditto)

Gender: Male/Female/ Other?

Role: Position, career, claims to fame, etc.

Description: What does your character look like? Pics are welcome

Personality: Please include strengths and weakness

History: Short bio. I’m alright with a sentence or two if you prefer to bring up character history in story

Other: Anything I missed?

Up for love: Yes/No/Depends

Make of that what you will. Normal rules are in effect (no r-rated content, no godmodding, etc). I want to point out that I am specifically looking for characters like my Prince, who forces himself to be special. Otherwise he’ll take over and I don’t actually want that to happen. So bring on the run away princesses, magic lamps and grand viziers. I want to see what happens :3

Name: Farid (Fa-reed)
Age: 27
Gender: Male- very much male.
Role/Rank: Prince of Saria, Second son to the late king, Captain of the Kings Guard

Apperance: Farid in a word is masculine. He's tall 6'7” and muscular with a strong jaw and brows. His body is hard, lean from his years as a guard and His tanned skin is marred with many scars from battles and his brutal military training as a boy. His hair is dark and would be curly if he let it grow, but Farid keeps it cropped short, and his beard is no more then stubble because he forgets to shave often, or just doesn't have time- physical appearance doesn't hold much with Farid. He wears the simple garments of a Guard- but of better quality and his only adornment is the plain silver chain and pendant that speaks of his Royal rank.
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_men6n ... 1_1280.jpg

http://25.media.tumblr.com/9fd0d5b82996 ... 1_1280.jpg

Personality: Farid on first glance seems all warrior- serious, dogged, courageous and honor bound. He is quiet and cold, his dark eyes betraying very little of what's going on behind them. And in a way he is, but there is far more to this troubled young man then what most see- or what he lets most see. He IS courageous, dogged and his honor is something he holds highly- but he is not completely bound by it- or rather his code of honor is of a different kind.
Farid is a very troubled young man, the constant fight to try and win his father affection has put out any spark of outward tenderness or kindness he shows those around him. He is bitter, angry, and cold. He seems strong but he's truly very broken and is often wracked with moments of self loathing and feelings of worthlessness because of his fathers active neglect- thus the reason for his doggedness- he pushes himself beyond his breaking point to prove to his father he was worth something- he was worth loving. The only person he shows any tenderness to, and indeed who knows the real Farid, is his mother Minnah

Weaknesses: Farid comes across as cold and cruel, he doesn't usually make a good first impression- he doesn't have his fathers gripping charisma as all and he's far too blunt and harsh. He isn't witty with the snappy comebacks as his brothers, and he's not sneaky at all. He can't joke and his sarcasm usually is just acidic- he has no friends because of this, and now he's just stopped trying to make them. He has a fear of small spaces- His father used to punish himas a boy by locking him in a large trunk, and leave him there for hours- once he did so and then forgot him for nearly two days. When Minnah finally found her little boy he was wild with terror and hysterically sobbing and begging Daddy to forgive him - promising to be good. He's never done well with them since.

Strengths/Gifts: Farid is a gifted warrior- he is unmatched in the Sarian military with weapons or knowledge of battle tactics. Warfare is something Farid's mind easily grasped-You won't find a better Hounds and Jackals or Chess player anywhere in the west. He is able to adapt quickly and think on his feet. Despite what his Father thought, and his brothers think, He is startlingly intelligent- just in different ways. Farid is a natural born leader, the kind people will gravitate to, he is unflappable and is as nearly as bomb proof as one can be. Calm in crisis and able to keep his head even when his emotions are raging have saved him more the once and make him a dangerous rival to his brothers- that and he has the whole of the Sarian military might in his back pocket.

History: Farid's mother (Minnah) was King Emeer's first wife, she was the daughter of a king to the Sarian eastern front- a smaller kingdom but the gate guards of the main trading route. It seemed a perfect match- the charismatic and high strung king and his noble and gentle wife- everyone thought he would crown her his queen, but he didn't. For three months they tried to conceive but nothing. Emeer soon got bored and married a string of other woman in quick succession. Minnah's heart was shattered- for she really did love her husband, and the final blow was when one of these woman became pregnant and birthed a son Amhir, and Emeer named her queen and /chief/wife. In one blow Minnah was no longer his wife and now was only a woman in his Harem- for he gave Minnah's rooms to the Queen.

For several years she mourned her state- being only a Harem woman, to service the king when he came to her- but through this she conceived and bore the king a son. Now Farid as second born Prince should have brought honor on both himself and his mother from the king-at least he should have given her a chamber in the main palace, But Emeer did nothing. The queen soon after birthed a third son, Kassim and he was treated as second born.

So from infancy Farid was treated only as a Harem born son- not the son of the Kings first wife. Minnah was a good woman, and raised her little son as best she could, she wanted to raise a noble prince. She shaped his character, Honor, Patience, Courage and Mercy- things she thought a prince and possible heir should have. Hoping the king would notice his son and treat him as he should be treated.

Emeer did notice the boy- but he was disappointed. Farid wasn't as clever seemingly as his two other sons, and he was shy and awkward in conversation- nothing like the charming and charismatic king. He wasn't even promising in the man he'd grow out to be. Not like Amhir who at ten was already getting attention from the little ladies of court. Farid was small for his age and skinny as a rail, his teeth were too large and his nose too small, his dark curly hair was a mop of irregular ringlets and his dark eyes always looked concerned. Emeer was greatly disappointed and made sure Farid knew this in no uncertain terms.

From age Five to twelve Farid struggled to win his fathers attention and affection. He studied harder, thinking if he was wiser then the other boys his father would be pleased- he was not. He tried to be charming and witty- something Emeer did hold in high regard but Farid just couldn't create that false facade and charms his father had. The only thing seemingly Farid did stand out among the princes was in his training of weapons and Equitation. Farid was at home on the back of a horse- and if a weapon was in his hands he was even happier. In this he out-shown all the other sons of his father, in this one thing he was sure he'd get noticed and please the king.

He did get noticed- finally he caught the kings attention, but it didn't have the reaction Minnah and Farid had hoped. His Father, when finally told of the boys warrior promise, shipped him off to the military compound- where the soldiers of Saria were trained. Again Farid was put away from his father but this time he lost his only rock- his mother.

From Twelve to Twenty-one he was put through the brutal training of the Soldiers- For his father told the instructors to treat the boy hard- not to give him mercy because he was the kings son, and they took this to the extreme. Training was vicious- learn fast or die faster- and those that didn't die in the attempt came out changed. And changed Farid was. The sunny happy little boy he was before was gone, dead, and in his place a serious hard eyed man stood. But even still a little glimmer of hope remained that /Now/ maybe now he had pleased his father, maybe now he would get the father he had always longed for- but no, Emeer named him Captain of the Kings Guard- dashing any hopes Farid had of ever being a real son to him.

But Farid being the persistent dogged man he was, set to his new position and tasks with a will. The Kings guard got a overhaul- no lazy half trained men now. They were an elite band of hard fighters- nine assassination attempts were stopped in the first year alone because of this new Kings Guard, the Watchdogs they were soon known as throughout Saria, and their young Captain was nicknamed The Hell Hound by a certain Prince of Thieves.

Farid seemingly settled down in his role as Captain of the Kings Guard, he almost seemed to some as content- but it was far from that. He did his duties to the best of his abilities- no one could complain of his work, not even the overly critical Crown prince Amhir. As Captain of the Kings Guard Farid was given the fine- but small house in the barracks for his personal use, and the first thing he did was to bring his mother out of the Harem and set her up with her own small household in his new abode. Minnah settled in happily, no longer simply another one of the kings women. Soon after settling in she took to mothering the other members of the Kings guard- and she was known to them as Mother of the Guard. Things seemed peaceful for six years- Farid made little noise to be noticed by his father or the other princes and the latter seemed happy that their rival seemed at last put down. But false peace can only last so long.

Now six years later the kingdom is shattering- the King was murdered in his own chambers quietly on the night of his drunken birthday celebration. No one knows who the murderer is- but Farid has sworn that he will bring the man to justice, such a crime will not go silently forever. But the succession for the throne is up in the air, with many possible heirs, but none named outright by the king. Farid alone among his brothers doesn't seem to be making a move for the throne- but perhaps he doesn't have to-Amhir and Kassim to their horror learned soon after their fathers death that Farid- quiet, dull, sullen Farid has the whole of the Sarian military force in his back pocket, and at a word could single handedly throw the country into a bloody civil war.

Other: He's left handed, likes spicy foods and has a secret love for music- an a surprisingly good voice. One thing that often surprises people is how soft spoken Farid is, and how gentle the voice is when he does speak.

Up for love/Orientation: He is straight as an arrow but good luck at getting past his cold exterior and shattered interior.

Name: Prince Akeem, aka. The Prince of Thieves or Prince

Age: Seventeen

Gender: Male

Role: Leader of the “thieves’ guild”

Description: Barely pushing five feet and with a wiry build, Prince knows size his not his strong point. With his expressive, elf-like features he can frequently seem younger than he really is. A trait he makes use of. With slightly curling chestnut hair and an almond complexion, he also knows far too well how handsome he is. He loves to show off his skills by wearing the nicer things he’s filched. He also takes very good care of his hands and feet for the sake of job security on top of vanity. He has his fathers eyes, a fact he detests.

Spoiler

Spoiler
Image

Personality:

On the surface Akeem is affable and slightly whimsical, if a bit mischievous. He does have a strong sense of honour, it’s just unique to him. He is surprisingly loyal and caring to those he considers “his”. On the other hand, he’s also possessive, violently temperamental, and extremely arrogant. He clings to the facade of being better than everyone else to counter the arguments that he’s not worth much. He can be calculating, and has a tendency to pout. He’s a mess of issues regarding his parents and family life.

Strengths: Handsome and clever as well as agile. He is a master of sleight of hand and an escape artist. Akeem knows lots of acrobatic tricks, which he will show you, and dancing, which he will not. He considers himself a planner and likes to brag that he can accomplish nearly anything given enough time. The validity of this statement is highly suspect.

Weaknesses: Egotistical, sulky, and morally skewed, Akeem openly despises being touched, and is scared of magic although he tries to keep the latter a secret.

History: Akeem is the illegitimate son of King Emeer and a “dancing girl” named Morgiana who was very favoured by the king. This did not make him a favourite in the palace. He spent his early years all but abandoned to sneak around practicing his skills and try and avoid his tormentors. Unfortunately he was less then successful at the latter and the physical and emotional torture tha t even his mother couldn’t save him from has left a mark.
When he was ten, Morgiana died trying to give the king yet another son, and Akeem abandoned his identity and took to the streets. This is when “Prince Akeem” Disappeared from the public eye, and The Prince of Thieves appeared. He pretty much disappeared for four years while he perfected his craft. But when he was fourteen, and starting to really make a name for himself he started visiting his father. Emeer was remarkably pleased with his youngest sons initiative, and Akeem found himself suddenly favoured.
Now, Prince Akeem is a shadowing figure, known only by his father’s pronouncements of praise and suggestions of making this “lost” child his official heir.

Meanwhile The Prince of Thieves protects his true identity while he looks out for the well-being of his “court”, an amalgam of street scum that allow him control so long as his actions are beneficial to them. It’s a precarious position, especially since his brothers would be more than happy to see him fall. But when the king dies both Prince's alter egos might be in danger

Have yet to come up with the right kind of person

It would be nice if you wrote what it depends on, when it comes to love.. So people can work towards it or avoid it. By the way, are we using that topic with the idea as a DT, or will there be a new one?

There will be a DT. In fact, voila viewtopic.php?f=200&t=96369

As for Prince, I put that there because the character is decidedly /not/ up for love, but his writer has plans to ignore him >:3

Name: Dania

Age: unknown, really, but seems very young, around 17

Gender: female

Role: She came for what's been promised her years ago, back when she, being the scenes, helped a young man to become the ruler of Saria. He probably never told the mother that Dania will once come for the child, but nevertheless she knows it won't be a simple task. Yet, with her strengths, what can go wrong?
She, in easiest words possible, manipulates sand. She can do with it pretty much anything she wants - and in the city with no king to protect it, with groups of people fighting for power, surrounded by desert, just how good or bad that is?

Description: Her hair is black, and in the sunset when she leaves the town, it seems almost dark purple - same goes for her eyes. She's of average height, hourglass-shaped, and always wears light-colored, hooded cloak over her clothes. (As for clothes, think a bit Jasmine from the Disney's Aladdin, but in dark purple and with golden-ish decorations)

Personality: Far more sociable than she seems. She knows what she wants and usually how to get it, and that's reflected in the way she acts. Yet if anyone would actually approach her, she would show interest for the people and the town - she might even care for them. In her way. Like, care enough to use them instead of killing them when the time comes. Though she does visit now and then, and is somewhat educated about the town's situation, she doesn't really understand people, so if she tries acting like normal person, she's really socially awkward. She does somewhat enjoy showing she's more powerful than the people claiming power, but is never mean to slaves and servants.

History: Through time, she's now and then seen coming from the desert, always spotted when it's already unknown where she came from exactly. The elders claim it can't possibly be the same person who came before - the younger don't really care. This time, she came shortly before the ruler's death. She comes and goes into and from the palace, wanders around the town and doesn't really speak to anyone. And in the nights, when people fall asleep, she heads back to the desert in her unknown direction.

Other: The Sorcerers Guild is associated with her maybe the most of all, as she is a sorcerer after all. People from the palace probably wouldn't like her all that much, though slaves would.

Up for love: Sure.. Go ahead and try.

Spoiler
Yes, she's the villain. In case you were wondering.

Name: Tanner

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Role: A thief under Prince Akeem.

Description: You've got what his face looks like, so I don't really need to describe that. Tanner is tall, just around 6', maybe a little under. He is small though, if he were weighed, he'd only be around 130. He may not be the biggest guy, but he has great upper body strength, which enables him to climb easily without much exertion. Usually wears just simple rags, because he prefers comfort over style. Never wears a mask when robbing, he claims it ruins his vision.

Screen shot 2013-01-07 at 11.16.37 AM.png (138.04 KiB) Viewed 7616 times

Personality: Tanner is one of the few thieves that actually likes their leader. He is ruthless. Failure is not an option. He will do whatever it takes to please his master, even if it means your death. If you awake when he is robbing you, he will give you a good blow to the head to knock you unconscious, but nothing that'll kill you. He isn't that cruel that he'd kill you for no reason. He does Akeem's dirty work, if Akeem doesn't want to himself. Akeem's wish is his command. He is one of Akeem's most loyal thieves (Probably because he's one of the only loyal ones), and would lay down his life for his master if it was necessary.

Strengths: Extremely nimble, can climb very easily and can maneuver through tight spaces without difficulty. Picture Ezio, only a little more... Realistic. Is good at blending in, and can almost disappear if the situation is needed. Pretty handy with a knife, but not much other.

Weaknesses: Not a very good hand to hand fighter, prefers to flight than fight. Not good with swords or large weapons either. If he has to fight, his style is to hide then ambush.

History: Never knew his mother, father was killed in the streets when he was 12. Joined Akeem and has been working for him since. Akeem is like a father to him. (Even though Tanner is older)

Other: ---------------------

Up for love: Yes, straight.

Name: Queen Airan

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Role: the youngest and most recent wife of the late King Emeer.

Description: Of course she's stunning. With pale hair and green eyes, from the day of her birth her parents planned for her to marry a rich man. Tall and slender, she usually dresses in light colours to match her complexion.

Spoiler
Image

Personality: Airan is kind in principle, she wants the best for the people at the bottom, she believes in equality and peace and prosperity at all. She's read a lot of books from the West and she believes herself to be enlightened. She wants to help. But despite this all, she has a cunning and shrewd interior. She's not afraid to cut down those that she thinks deserves it. She has never hesitated in her way to the top. Sometimes she worries about what awaits her after death. But it's all means to an end, and the end is good, so why should the means matter?

Strengths: She's very smart and wide read, and she's very compassionate.

Weaknesses: She can be a bit of a vigilante. No wonder suspicion has been cast on her as the murderer. She can be self-righteous and she won't stop in attempts to get her own way.

History: Airan was raised by a poor family, but thankfully not the poorest of the poor. That didn't mean she didn't see neighbours lose their jobs and be evicted, or know girls who tried to make it as dancers and ended up in much worse conditions. But her parents saw an option for her. They poured everything they could into her appearance and bought her a place in a dancing school. While not a great dancer, she caught the eye of a merchant who took her to a party where she met a nobleman who took her out the following week to the palace, where she met the King, who married her.

That was four years ago. Four years she spent charming the men of Saria and reading books. She never had a child, and never lost her figure and in general the other older wives hate her. Because why would he have married a dancer, why not have just kept her as a courtesan?

It's because Airan wasn't born to be a dancer. She was born to be a Queen.

Other: Go crazy with her wardrobe.

Up for love: Just got out of a loveless marriage so yup, but it'd have to be a secret.

I heartily approve of all these characters. *dances*

Jabber, bring on the magic. It would be good to have a lot of it.

Also, I am stoked to have someone else to add to the royal family and a new thief. Akeem is already very fond of Tanner, so thank you.

Aria, your villainess looks great. I just want to though that there are a couple characters that aren't especially on "team good". So don't be surprised if she has competition.

I'm going to try my best to get up a profile for Emeer (and hopefully some of his other family members) So that everyone can have roughly the
same idea of what he was like. Although we can make him be pretty much whatever he needs to be.

Turrah!

Name: Jamelynn Elizabeth Martin

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Role: A slave to Prince Kassim

Description: A foreigner to Saria, Jamie's got bright blue eyes that are incredibly expressive. The term "the eyes are the windows to the soul" is embodied in her. Her skin is a pale, creamy color no matter how often she tries to tan it, with a penchant for burning, and badly. Her hair is black and curly, falling past her waist in waves and ringlets she is constantly, hopelessly trying to tame. The rest of her can only be described as small. She's quite short, with a slender body and nearly nonexistent curves. Image

Personality: Quiet and gentle by nature, Jamie is a lover of books. She's soft and kind, striving constantly to be kinder. She's shy, but caring and patient. She's full of passion that she very rarely shows and she has a very strict set of morals that she will not be swayed from. She comes across as someone who lets themselves be walked over, but don't mistake her understanding ways. She'll fight tooth and nail if she cares for something.

Strengths: With Jamie strength come in a couple of different forms. She's strong in the way that she's a survivor. She picks something to hold onto and help her pull through whatever challenge set before her. Another is her personality. She's a smart, warm and genuinely caring person. She's good at thinking things through and picking out the best way to deal with things. And finally, she's an ink mage. She can isolate it and use it to poison someone (something she will never do to someone), create little creatures, animate an image, or even translate a paper.

Weaknesses: She's much too forgiving of others, and often winds up being duped or betrayed because of her faith in other people. Even greater than that, she has no knowledge of how to defend herself. She's helpless in a fight, despite her natural grace, and has to rely on others to protect her.

History: Jamie's mother was the daughter of a duke, who fell in love with a poor book keeper. Her father didn't approve of the match, and threatened to disown Aurora if she went through with the marriage. He stayed true to his word and has never been heard from for their family.
When Jamie turned five the only thing she wanted was a little doll she had seen in a shop window, nothing special, even cheap. Nontheless Aurora and her husband Edmund had to scrimp and save for months ahead of time to afford the luxury. The day of their little princesses birth arrived, and Aurora left Jamie in the care of an elderly neighbor and went to purchase the gift. She never returned, being struck down and trampled by a careless driver, and from then on Jamie refused to acknowledge her birthday.
Edmund was left to raise his daughter alone, and did so admirably considering their meager income. He doted on Jamie and dubbed her his little angel, doing everything in his power to give her a happy childhood.
A little while after Jamie turned twelve her father abruptly fell ill, leaving her the only breadwinner of the family, a heavy burden for a girl so young and small. She took on the challenge as best she could, and did everything in her power to get a medicine that would help him, even if it meant digging herself into trouble. When the illness finally took his life, just before she turned sixteen, she was left grieving, and her debtors holding out their hands for money she didn't have.
After stripping her of anything and everything that might have some sort of value, she was sold into slavery to make up the difference. She was dragged to the west where there's a market for foreign female slaves and sold to Prince Kassim.

Name: King Emeer

Age: Dead, but was 68 exactly

Gender: Male

Role: King

Description: Emeer was a strikingly handsome young man, but years of overindulgence had left him a bit weathered. Still, he could be considered attractive as an older man. He had light coffee complexion and straight red brown hair, with a thick beard and almond shaped, dark brown eyes.

Personality: Charming but capricious and cruel. When he favoured you he could make your whole world light up, and you'd forget the outright evil things he'd done. He was a manipulative womanizer, which unfortunately made him very good at orchestrating events in the city and keeping allies appeased.

History: Emeer was actually the nephew of the previous king. He went through that uncle, a couple cousins, and two older brothers to take his place on the throne. No one talks too likely about the likelihood of this being accidental. Even those who might have called him out kept quiet because for all his "bad habits", Emeers reign was very beneficial to the kingdom. Not to mention peaceful, since he was more than willing to use wives and concubines as peace treaties.

He was mostly benevolent in public, and could always be relied upon for parities and luxury. he saved his family for his real amusement. He delighted in playing them against one another. Even at the end of his life it remained unclear who he really cared about and who he was simply using. He was also so concerned with taunting his sons, he never truly named an heir.

On the night of his sixty-eighth birthday, Emeer drunkenly staggered to his bed, for once unaccompanied. He never arose.

Name: Prince Kassim or “Prince of Mages”

Age: Twenty three

Gender: Male (Although Akeem loves to cast doubt on this subject)

Role: Prince, High-ranking member of the Mage's guild

Description: Kassim inherited his northern mother’s milk white complexion, something he’s ridiculously vain about despite the tendency to sunburn if he spends much time outside during the day. His complexion is nicely set off by his jet black hair, which he leaves long and slightly curled. He has the same eyes as he father and Akeem, although he lacks the sparkle of mischief the other two share. His expression is far colder. He tends to wear layers of fine quality clothes that are imbued with protection spells.

Personality: Kassim tries to remain cool and calculating at all times, but his temper frequently gets the better of him. He is crafty rather than street smart or wise, but he can be inventive sometimes. Particularly if something nasty is involved. He is egotistical and viciously ambitions, and picked up his father’s womanizing habits along with a wide cruel streak. He loves magic and considers mage to be the most distinguished class in the city aside from royalty. He severely looks down of “common” things.

History: Kassim was born the slightly younger of a set of twins. His brother Kareem however met an unfortunate accident suspiciously around the same young age that Kassim discovered magic. The sorcerous arts became Kassim’s main preoccupation other than gaining power in general. He particularly liked to “test” spells on his half brother Akeem.

Right now his main ambition seems to be within the mage's guild, while he fully supports Amir’s bid for the throne. But he’s lost potential rivals before. Who’s to say how far his ambition stretches?

Other: Full blooded brother of Amir as opposed to half brother, and for various reasons is their mothers favourite.

Up for love: Yes

Every time I’ve gotten feedback that was hard to take it was usually hard to take because there was truth in it and I didn’t like that (or didn’t want to receive it). That’s not to say all harsh feedback is good or that we should be harsh for harshness’ sake, but learning to absorb truth without letting it break your inner core/break you is a lifelong skill that keeps your mind elastic and open to learning.
