The YWS Cup The Inaugural Critiquing Championship Start: January, 2013 End: To be decided http://i.imgur.com/pF57vl.jpg ENTRY IS NOW CLOSED Open to all. Schedule will be decided based on number of entrants. Knock-out championship. Randomly drawn rounds create a match between two users. Some users may receive byes in the early rounds. A match consists of a week-long reviewing battle. The user with the most reviews at the end of a week wins the match. In the case of a tie, there will be a week-long replay immediately following the end of the match. Because I'm cruel. The later final rounds will consist of month-long battles just to ramp up the tension. The winner receives the adoration of his peers and probably an Amazon voucher of some sort (to be decided) and will be known as the YWS Cup Champion until the next Championship. The runner up will receive a slightly worse prize (to be decided). If nobody enters, I automatically win the YWS Cup. Forever. The picture above is not the finished YWS Cup. Someone with photoshop skills will make it. Please. I am the judge and ultimate arbiter of any disputes about match scores and winners. The remaining 14 entrants will enter the First Knockout Round, meaning 7 matches will be drawn. Hence, the 7 victors will join the 9 who received a bye, to comprise the 16 taking part in the Second Round. The draw was randomised using paper and a hat. Kyllorac steals an early lead with a strong first day! It's still early days, but Kyllorac has certainly laid down a challenge for StellaThomas to respond to.

Match 2

Alteran 1 - 0 Lauren2010

A slow start to this encounter. Neither competitor has come leaping out the blocks, although Alteran just shades the first day with a solitary review.

Match 3

FermentingFruit 0 - 3 guineapiggirl

A decent first day from guineapiggirl gives them a 3 score advantage after one day of play. Will FermentingFruit respond tomorrow?

Match 4

Audy 7 - 3 ash211

Our highest scoring match thus far, Match 4 has seen some fireworks. Audy posted 7 reviews in one day, which is a huge effort, but ash211 has stayed focused against the onslaught, and has posted a commendable 3 reviews in response. This could be the match to watch in the coming days!

That's it! I just wanted to ask if I can take bets and then cheat everyone by sending my works secretly to the participants, and then send my people to collect what others owe me ^_^

At first, I felt bad that I only did one daily score update.

Now I actually think it makes it vastly more exciting to have no real idea who's winning! No-one can get complacent and everyone must keep reviewing to give themselves a chance of victory.

Maybe it's easier to just keep track of the review numbers via leaderboards? Like, before the actual tournament begins - mark down the total number of reviews everyone has. That way, you only have to check it once at the end. I mean, we can still keep track of our reviews and all too, if that helps. But I think I've missed a few of mine x_x
