Holiday Lyrics Contest!

Hi everyone! So I realise you're not all budding lyricists but- don't go away yet! The winning categories for this contest are a little bit unusual

The Categories

1. Most Catchy Lyrics
2. Funniest Holiday Jingle
3. Best Recording of Self-Written Lyrics
4. Worst Holiday Song
5. Best Anti-Holiday Song

The Rules

1. Write a song! It doesn't have to be serious or in tune and if you can record yourself singing it, there are major bonus points available The theme is Winter Holidays so you could have a song about a lonely snowflake or Santa's Rocket Ship!
2. No profanity! These should all be suitable for a family get together around the camp fire with marshmallows. I don't want to see anything crude, okay?
3. To enter, simply post a link to the thread/ video here. There isn't a need to enter a specific category; our wonderful judges will decide where your lyrics best fit.
4. You may enter a maximum of two times and it is possible to place for both of those, so you might want to attempt to write the best and worst lyrics!

The Prizes

There will be a review for every writer who places. You may choose which piece to redeem this on. Alternatively, you can choose to have 500 points to spend on gifts this holiday season.

From these five winners, three be selected on a combination of how entertaining and how well written their lyrics are. These three will receive the following additional prizes:

First Place: Choose either a YWS mousepad or journal (notebook) from the YWS store: http://www.cafepress.com/ywsstore
Second Place: A YWS bookmark and a YWS fridge magnet
Third Place: A YWS bookmark and a YWS fridge magnet

The Deadline

The 28th December 12:00pm anywhere in the world. The results will be released by the end of the month.

Recording of Self-Written Lyrics

I am so going to attempt this.

I'll be partaking in this, won't be long now before the instrumental side of my entry is complete. Though I'll only be submitting the entry if I'm satisfied with the lyrics.

Just out of interest, is anybody else planning on recording their entry?

Also, can it be a parody of a real song? Like, create a parody of a song that already out there?

I'll give it a knack! Here's a thread for my first entry, a lyric based on Winter Wonderland. It's kind of a parody, but I hope it'll work: Lurking in the Kitchen Wonderland.
