S.S Queen’s Holiday Cruise

Katie

I hand out each of the gifts and smile. Chance sits in one of the chairs and i sit on the arm, gripping his hand.

Chance

I squeeze her hand and smile, watching everyone.

Katie

His sister gets out one of the dresses I gave her and spins around. "Katie you made me a princess." She say, her face lit up.

"No darling,you already were one. I just helped with the style a bit." I say, smiling.

Chance

I smile and watch my sister proudly almost, agreeing with what Katie says about her.

Katie

I smile as she hugs me. His my opens hers and gasps. I smile at her reaction.she thanks me and lets Chance's dad open his. He laughs as he pulls out a new watch. "I needed a new one."

I laugh and nod. I whisper to Chance. "Last Christmas, your dad underestimated how hard I can throw a football. I kind of broke his watch into a lot of pieces." I say. 'He never got it fixed, so I got him one.'

Chance

I smile and chuckle at the fact, nodding. I don't feel empty, not remembering, like I used to. It just feels... normal.

Katie


His mother goes into her closet and digs out a gift fot me. I smile as she gives it to me. "There is a card." His sister says. "I drew it."

I smile and take it out. It has a beautiful picture of me and he holding hands "Aw thank you honey." I say. I pull out a gorgeous sun dress and smile. "Thank you so much." I say.

Chance

My father crosses the room and slips something in my hand, patting my shoulder as he whispers, "Don't tell your mother."

Katie

I hold the pretty, soft pink, drews up. "Katie, now we are princesses together." His sister says.

I smile and laugh. "Yes, yes we are."

Chance

I uncurl my fist and find the diamond ring sitting in the middle of my palm. Flashing a smile, I thank my father and close my fingers around it. I slip it in my pocket for safe keeping and watch Katie.

Katie

I watch his sister as she dances around the cabin. I laugh, knowing she is so much like me. I stand and pck her up. I hold her and dance around with her.

Chance

I smile and watch the two, knowing then and there that Katie has no comparison. She's Katie, my Katie, and she's going to make the best mother and wife.

Katie

I sigh and place her down. She laughs at her dizziness and so do I. I make sure she does not fall and go back to sit on the arm of the chair.

Chance

I take Katie's hand and smile, looking up at her.

Katie

I look at Chance and smile down at him. I give his hand a squeeze and rub the top of it with my thumb.
