If you drew it, here's some advice. Tweak the handle and base of the pitcher, they look a little off. And what exactly is that ball thingy? A lemon, a pear?
First of all, if the light source is coming from the upper left corner, shouldnt the wall be light-ish too? It's good though, but I would recommend you go easier on the shading and put some more detail into the lemon thing.

As MetalHead said, curve the base of the pitcher such that the bottom curves with the top. I believe you should better reveal the edges to each object shown within the picture--not so much as darken the edges; just clean it up and better define it. Also, you may consider blending those shadows better. It seems to go from an area of say 100% darkness, to 75%, to 50% to 25% in areas that begin in one place and end in another. Make is a better gradient.
Other than that, it seems fair. I was curious as to how you "could not figure out this new image-thingy." You simply need to get the URL of the image; in this case you posted a URL to a website showing the image. Simply right-click and press Properties. It will provide you with the location of the image--the URL. Then, it is simply a matter of enclosing it in the image tag: [img]location_of_image[/img]
In this situation, the correct format would be:
[img]http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n132/Karmakitty_2006/Charcoal.jpg[/img]

About the first one: was that from a still life, or your imagination? I like the composition. It's a very peaceful picture. I think the lemon could use some texture details. You know how they have all those little bumps? You could draw those with very small, light strokes with your charcol. Also, the base of the vase needs some shading. I really like the top of it, and it's shape. Pretty.
If you were to make the black really dense around the out-sides of the vase and lemon, it would them seem to pop off the page. I'm not really good at discribing that... Here.
Like that, only not terible, lol. I'm really out of practice on paint.
