She wished to finally land the boy she loved and to be left alone. She was an independent girl. Ends up that now she's in the "Ku-Ku House". The "Looney Bin". Whatever you want to call it.

Position (Ranges from CEO down to assistants): Assistant
How long have they worked for the company: One Year

I was walking through the building of Dreamers Inc., looking for a good place to rest for a couple of minutes. There was a meeting being held and I never bothered to go to those things, so now the place was empty. I had to study for my mid-term anyway.

Finding the locker room, I walked in and opened mine up. I grabbed my English notebook and closed the locker. There was a bench so I sat on it, flipping through the pages.

Nothing new, just grammar stuff.

"Hey," I heard a guy say.

Looking up, I saw no one. Odd.

"Hey man, what's up?" another male asked.

Oh, they were behind me, in the other row of lockers. I'm nuts.

"Nothing, I gotta clean this girl's memories today. Her dream went wrong."

A laugh came up. "I hope we don't make her a mental case! Like that one girl, what's her face..." he thought. "Francine?"

I shivered at the sound of her name.

"Yeah... how did that happened anyway?"

Jumping off the bench, I ran out of the room, feeling my heart race. I couldn't stand it. This sick company.

It was twelve o'clock, noon. School was out and I was headed for work. I started at one o'clock in the afternoon, so I had to rush. Thankfully the business was not too far away, in the mall that was two miles from my college.

I hopped into my car and sped down the highway, dodging all the slow cars and reaching my exit. Once I reached the parking lot, I parked in the employees lot. The mall was in front of me, massive and modern. It had a minimalistic look to it really.

My phone vibrated just the second I pulled my keys out of the ignition.

"'Ello?" I asked.

"Hello, this is Dreamers Inc. and we'd like to..." I clicked the end button.

I didn't want to hear this. Stupid commercials. They're made for TV not telephones.

Lunch goes perfectly. I know a drummer when I see one and now we have a band. After lunch I head to advanced chorus but when I get there my instructor tells me that there is gonna be an assembly in ten minutes. Apparently some company wants to get a message out to local teenagers. Probably some stupid message about how if you get an education then you can work for them. When we all take our seats I am proved completely wrong. There is a company called Dreamers inc. They will make any wish come true for a small price. Sounds promising. I thunk ill stop there after school today. This could be a great opportunity fir me. I mean whats tge worst that can happen?

I was in the middle of a plank when the door to my office opened. I scrambled to my feet, mentally berating myself for wearing a track suit in front of one of my bosses. Thankfully, it was just a supervisor--he was used to this, at least.

"Hey, Aidan," my boss said. "Just stopped by to pass a message along--we launched another robo-call campaign recently, and advertising thinks it's going to be pretty successful. I'd expect a big new batch of customers if I were you."

I nodded. "Got it," I said. "Thanks for letting me know."

"Sure thing," my boss replied. "See you later."

I gave him a little wave, and once he was gone, I dropped down again and finished my plank. It was nice of my supervisor to warn me--I wasn't the most successful salesman, so many of the other bigwigs had a habit of "forgetting" about me. I got to my feet again, and started running laps around my office. The bigwigs were hard to peg--considering my high success rate, one would think I'd be good advertising material. In general, clients liked me, and I rarely made mistakes. Maybe the bosses just didn't like me.

I was about to do more planks when my phone rang. I hopped up and ran over to my desk. "Dreamers, Inc.," I said. "Consultationist Aidan Murdoch speaking. How can I help you?"

I was in my bosses' office. It was a mix of minimal and modern. There were high-rise windows so you could see the whole city just by stepping into the room. The leather lounge chairs could have been better though, if you want clients to be comfortable might as well spend an extra few bucks for luxury.

"Joshua," Ms. Klaudia Forest said, her voice snobby as always.

"Yes Ms. Forest?" I replied, looking up from my phone.

There was nothing to do now since the meeting had ended. Everyone went back to work but no clients decided to stop by yet.

"Arrange a few appointments for tomorrow. Clear my schedule for today. I have some shopping to do." she smiled, her lips closed and red like blood.

"Alright," I sighed.

"And don't use your phone in my office." she huffed.

Rolling my eyes, she spun on her heel and walked out. The glass door shut behind her. I stood up from the lounge chair, hearing the click of my heel against the hardwood floors. They required dress shoes in this business.

Walking to her desk, glass top and all, I sat down on, yet again, a leather chair. But this one was nice. Like, fall-asleep-in-a-second nice. I clicked her computer to life and waited for the calender to show up.

The day was long. I was just glad to be able to get home and sleep. Fall on my bed, enwrap myself in my covers. Oh, the dreams I would have.

"Mom, dad, I'm home!" I called out once I shut the front door.

"'Kay honey!" I heard mom.

With a smile, I ran up the stairs in front of me, heading to the bathroom. I shower, change and run back down in thirty minutes.

"Thank God I'm home," I smiled.

I walked into our brightly lit kitchen with my mom at the stove flipping some steaks. My dad was chopping up some potatoes, throwing them into a small pot.

"How was school?" my father asked, looking at me through his glasses.

"Fine, it was the afternoon class so me-no-likey."

He smiled, getting back to the task at hand: chopping potatoes.

"You gotta do it to move on you know..." he added anyway.

Shaking my head, I sat down at the kitchen island, scrolling down my text messages on my phone. I had no new ones.

"Yeah dad. I know,"

They continued to cook as I kept on looking through my phone. I was tired. I shouldv'e just went to bed. But I gotta eat something.

Right then, my phone beeped.

Hey Gurl! I wanna go do this thingg... I know you'll hate me for it but will you go with me?

Lacey. She was a character.

Sure... tell me what, when, and where. I swiped on my screen.

“Don’t bother going to your next class,” The instructor announces, “There will be an assembly in the hall in under 10 minutes.”
I nod my head along with the others all the while thinking where this hall is. I follow the rest of the class down the hall and through a couple of corridors.

Then we walk into a massive hall –at least 10 times the size of the one at my last school (and that’s saying something) – filled with chairs.
There aren’t very many people here yet. Quietly I take a seat in the section where the other “seniors” are sitting and watch the stage absentmindedly, waiting for the “message” to start.

Will squeezes in next to me in the assembly hall. I turn my head away, maintaining my “mad at him” pose, my brain frantically racing to try and figure out what to be mad at him about. Oh, I know; I saw him talking to Catherine Robinson again. He’ll deny it...

A man comes out onto the stage and greets us. Some kids clap politely, but I’m just glad to be out of my next class.

He’s a handsome looking man, I guess, between twenty and thirty. When he starts to talk, he sounds just like the guy who always reads the voiceover for trailers; dramatic and compelling.

“Good afternoon, young men, young women. My name is John Trelawney, and I’d like to talk to you about your dreams.”

He leans back against the podium, looking confident and dramatic. “We all have dreams,” he continues. “Things we want to do, places we want to go. Everyone has something or someone that they love that seems impossible to attain.” I shiver. I swear he just looked straight at me and smiled, as if he can see into my heart.

“It’s part of what makes you young: ambition, wild ideas, optimism. For the rest of your lives, you will have people tell you where to go, what to do, how to live, who to love. But right now, right now, your life is just starting. Live while you’re still young; go for your dreams!

“The sad truth, though, is that some people will never attain those dreams. They don’t have a lot of money, or they never work up the courage, or a hundred thousand other obstacles get in their way. Some people will never be happy, simply because they didn’t take an opportunity when it was offered them.

“So listen to me now. I am offering you an opportunity: an opportunity to live your dream. I’m sure you’ve all heard of Dreamers, Inc. Let me tell you that Dreamers, Inc is interested in nothing but your happiness, your dreams.

“That 250 you’ve always wanted to bench press? It’s yours. That size 7 dress? You’ll be wearing double zero. That rock band you’ve dreamed about? You’ll be the star. That mountain you’ve always wanted to climb? You’ll do it. That handsome guy you can’t get your mind off of? Pretty soon, you’ll be on his mind.

“I don’t believe that anything should stand in the way of ambitions and dreams. Not money, not status, not fear. We work cheap and we work good; all we need from you is the vision to take this opportunity when its offered.

“Let us help you attain what you most want. Let us make your dreams come true.”

The assembly room is sort of stunned. Of course, we’ve all heard of Dreamers, Inc. There’s ads for it everywhere. But somehow, this is different. It’s like he was talking to me personally, telling me that he could help me.

There are some questions, but I don’t really hear them, because I see Daniel sitting only a few feet away, his dark eyes looking interested but amused, his hair falling over his forehead. It’s all I can do to keep breathing.

Let us make your dream come true...
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a large fortune must be in want of a wife.

Wow. I think as I go back to my English class from the assembly. I know its two-hundred fifty dollars, but it will be worth it. At this rate, I can never pay for tuition. But if I went to Dreamers... I grin from ear to ear, so happy at the prospect of going to the college I want, not just what I can afford. And what if they could make two dreams come true, one for me, one for me and one for my siblings...

* * *

"Dreamers Incorporated. How can we help you make your dreams come true today?" A female voice says from the other end of the phone.

"Hello, Dreamers Inc.? My name is Katelyn Barton and I would like to set up an appointment..."

I was in Lacey's beat up BMW Beamer that she never seemed to fix. Tires were wearing and tearing. The muffler her brother installed was breaking and loud as hell. The seats were ripping at the sides. And it smelled like my grandfather.

"Where. Are. We. Headed." I asked again, staring out the windshield.

"I need a way to achieve what I want, you know." she looked at me for a second then turned to the windshield again. "... I want to be able to get Josh to notice me." My stomach churned at his name. "And I want my photographs to be noticed by a magazine! I wanna be famous Mione!" she squealed.

It was raining, light, but still drowned the windows whole. You couldn't see a thing until Lacey turned on the windshield wipers.

Cranking up the heating, I hugged myself. It was cold in the car, she didn't bother to heat it up. She was too excited to even let me close the door before she drove off.

"And how will you do this?" I asked.

"I'm gonna go..." she stopped, looking out the window.

Following her gaze, I saw a huge building. Grey and tall, like any business place would be. She pulled into a parking spot on the side of the street and we hopped out of the car. I regretted every moment. It was freezing and pouring outside, I'd rather be in the car.

"Dreamer's Incorporated," I read from the huge sign next to us.

"Mhmmmm,"

"Sounds fishy." I smiled.

The phone was ringing endlessly as I looked through the files on the computer. I answered a few but most of them were commercials so I didn't care. My head was pounding with pain. I rubbed my eyes, taking a few deep breaths.

I hate working.

On days like this. She could have done the work herself.

An annoying sound came, so recognizable it hurt. I grabbed the phone, slamming it to my ear.

"Yes?" I asked, frustrated.

"Hello, we have a client here... is Klaudia Forest there?" our secretary, Sandra asked.

"No, sorry. Send her to someone else."

"If I find someone..." she huffed under her breath.

"Try your best Sandy." I smiled.

"Alright, alright. Don't work too hard. Bye." the phone clicked.

"Bye,"

I put the phone back down, hearing my stomach groan.

I spent the next hour playing sudoku puzzles and looking through Onion headlines on my computer. So much for advertising stepping it up--business was even slower than usual today. People must have finally been catching on--Dreamers, Inc. was just too good to be true.

I yawned, and decided that my time would be better spent napping. Flicking the lights out, I fluffed my coat out on my desk as a pillow and set my head down--

And that's when my phone rang. Grumbling to myself, I turned the lights back on and picked it up. "Aidan Murdoch speaking," I said, trying my best not to sound too bored.

"There's a kid who wants to set up an appointment," the secretary said. "I have her on hold. Here you go."

There was a click as the secretary transferred the call. "Hello, I'm Consultationist Aidan Murdoch," I said. "You'd like to set up an appointment?"

"Yes, please," the person said. It was the voice of a teenage girl.

"Name?" I prompted.

"Katelyn Barton," the girl said.

I jotted the name in my datebook. "Well, Katelyn," I continued, "I have lots of open slots. What time works for you? ...Hold on a second..."

I quickly muffled the phone, just as someone opened my door. The assistant stuck his head in, and spoke in a whisper. "There's someone here to see you!" he said.

I nodded and waved him away. Once the door was shut again, I grabbed the phone. "Sorry about that," I said to Katelyn. "Do you think it would be possible for you to call me back in about an hour? Someone just showed up without an appointment..." Katelyn consented. "Thanks a lot," I continued. "I'll talk to you later."

I set the phone down, and then went and opened the door. "Hello?" I called into the hallway. "Someone here to see me?"

Name: Tristan Azreal
Nickname: (none)
Age (25+): 38
Gender: Male

Appearance:
Tristan has not physically been seen for years. He usually stays hidden in his office, leaving only after dark to do his snooping. His earlier pictures will show an almost good-looking boy with a distinctive something wrong with him that's hard to put a finger on. He hails from a Indo-Subcontinental background and had a warm tan skin. His black hair would fall messily over his face, often covering his hazel-brown eyes.
Now, Tristan - from staying indoors is pale and sallow. He has heavy bags under his eyes, which have sunk deep into the socket. He is almost hunched from being on the computer all day. His hair has grown to shoulder length. If he donned a black robe, he could easily scare of Dementors.

Personality:
Tristan used to be cheerful kid when he joined as an assistant, but over the years of working at the company he was become dark, lonely, bitter and miserable. With his job of finding (and acquiring) what his clients love most, he has become very detached and unable to relate to human beings. He hasn't had physical human contact in years. He just stalks and preys on the clients from the computer.

History:
Tristan had a fairly normal childhood and upbringing. Had he known then what this job would entail, and what it would do to him, he would have never joined. However, being a college dropout, it was at the time the best offer he had. There is nothing particularly riveting about his history. He was born and raised in Kentucky. He had good grades and a passion to be a scientist when he was older so he could 'make' (biologically engineer) crops that could withstand bad weather for his father's farm. He joined a community college (in whichever state/country Dreamers Inc. is in) but dropped out due to a drug influence. He initially got the job to pay for his drugs, later the job became his drug. He has been sober for over 15 years.

Position (Ranges from CEO down to assistants):
Tristan applied for a position at the company as an assistant when he dropped out of college at 20. Though still under the required age and lacking a degree, he was given a job as an intern because of his unbelievable computer skills. He trained under several top notch hackers (and often trained them in turn) for two years before securing the position of (the youngest) SoulStealer. After 8 years of faithful service, he was promoted to Head of the SoulStealers. He has held the position for 8 more years and running.

How long have they worked for the company: 2 years as an intern + 16 years.

Up for love: No.

Other: He is a computer genius. His voice is very raspy from not talking for a long time. He has no family to speak of. He lives in the basement of the company building. The CEO knows of this and approves. Everyone is slightly scared to approach him because he seems crazy (and he probably is). All communication with him is made via e-mails. I think that's all.

I hope I can apply for a character. And I hope this isn't to imposing of me to say people are scared to approach him, it's just how I view his character.

Business had been slow. This meant more dull hours for me. I sent the younger ones home. I kept two of the ones with families. Free time means I get to run my social experiments. I've been trying to see how long before the fat balding male one asks to go home to his three year old daughter. She's not bothered about Daddy though, she's playing with her dolly named Sadie.

I know everything about every one. What you were doing when you told your friend on the phone you had to tend to your sick mother. When you actually left the house. I know your address. I know your credit card number. If I wanted, I could turn your life upside down. If the boss directs, that's exactly what I do.

It's easy with new technology. People just keep making life easier for me. 10 years ago, I had to send the minions to set up bugging devices. House calls, pah! Now, I just have to send them a well-timed 'spam' e-mail for it to start working. It's losing it's charm, this job. It's no longer challenging. There's no thrill. I may leave soon. Soon, but not yet. I haven't a prodigy yet. No one is ready to replace me. Some look promising, but they are yet to reach my standard. I fear, perhaps, no one ever will.

An e-mail bleeps up. It's one of the intern spies. He says to start researching a Katelyn Barton. A prospective. I delve in immediately. Sometimes, I race, test myself. I try to find out their dreams before their meeting. I am usually right. Not always. For example, I was wrong about the thrill. When I need it, it doesn't disappoint.

Katelyn... Katelyn Barton. Tell me, what are you hiding? What makes you tick?

I hear a man calling out to someone as I get out of the washroom. Lacey follows after, running toward his office.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I had an appointment scheduled but she wasn't here so the secretary sent me to you." I heard Lacey explain herself as I took my time to walk toward them.

"Ah, I see. It's okay, you may come in. Who did you have the appointment scheduled with?"

"Ms. Forest," she smiled. "I hope you don't mind. I brought my best friend Hermione with me."

"It's fine. Now, both of you may come in."

We walked into the office. He shut the door and took his place at his desk and we sat on lounge chairs which stood in front of it. The office was nice, open, like a therapeutic office. I could imagine that here.

"Hi, my name is Aidan Murdoch. I am here to help make your dream come true." Aidan smiled brightly.

I already felt how fake and disgusting this place was going to be. Help make dreams come true? Bullshit I tell you. Bull. Shit.

I walk into the break room, taking in the smell of coffee. Fresh batch. Finally. I head for the coffee machine and grab a cup from the shelf. Pouring myself a drink, someone walks into the break room.

"Hey Josh,"

Turning on my heel, I find a tired looking Sandy. She must've had a rough day. There's a bunch of people on break, so only a few are actually working.

"Who's working today?" I asked.

I grabbed some half-and-half from the fridge and poured it into my coffee. Ripping open a pack of sugar, I slipped that in as well.

"Well... I saw Aidan."

She got a cup and poured her coffee. Her blonde hair was up in a loose bun; that told me she has been on her feet since morning.

"How 'bout Tristan?"

Rolling her eyes, she sipped her coffee. The only person I knew who drank it black.

"You have to stop with that guy."

"Why?"

"Tristan is a loner. He won't do anything but squirm in that office of his. You know he even lives in the basement! There's no hope. You are such a good person Josh, but give up on him already." she walked away.

I was a believer. Always. I tried to help anyone I can. Tristan seems like a lost cause that can be helped. He just needs someone to believe in him and that will go far.

Her small figure managed to dissapear from my view once I realized I was lost in thought.

"Sandy!" I called out, walking out of the break room.

She was halfway down the hall as she turned on her heel to face me.

"Yes?"

All I did is look back at her at a lose of words.

"You don't need to say anything. I know you want to help people." she smiled, walking away.
