Lyeskij | Grand Hall | the next day

Lyeskij stared down into his goblet, stirring it half-heartedly. His hands moved almost of their own accord, and took a pinch of the herbs specially prepared for him at the table. The liquid steamed as the leaves broke apart inside.

The Headmaster took a sip and frowned. Too acid. Forcing himself to gulp, he wiped the crimson stain from his lips with a napkin primly. While around him, countless dishes, bowls and other containers lay filled to the brim with exotic spices and grasses, his plate was empty. Lyeskij had no need for food now. His diet was another one.

He leaned over to where Mr. Sennar, the Academy handyman and general secretary, was eating a plate of sausages heartily.

"Order another pinch of powdered angel's blood," Lyeskij murmured softly, "and a milligram of opium. The thigh-bone of a unicorn, also. Look for Grøz, he knows the proper incantation."

Mr. Sennar nodded, and resumed eating, although with a tad less vigor. Lyeskij's lips turned upwards wryly. His meals were not the best of table topics, he had to concede.

Some time later, Lyeskij tapped his goblet with a spoon loudly. The students, chatting merrily, paid the noise no heed. It was lost in the general din in any case. The Headmaster sighed. Clapping his hands together, he temporarily made everyone else in the hall mute, their tongues refusing to budge.

"I will have. Silence," he said, evenly. And silence it was, even after he ended the spell. Lyeskij chuckled. That was a useful little trick he had picked up when he was studying at the Romanov Institute of the Dark Arts in Russia.

"It has come to our attention that there have been some... rebellious attitudes... in this school," he began. "Too much freedom was given. Now that I'm back from my trip, that'll change. In primis, there is a school schedule affixed to the boards in the hall. I suggest you take a look. Secondly," and at this he paused, drawing in a breath, "after careful observation, the staff have singled out the more, ah, notable miscreants, and have issued thus." he paused for effect, this time.

"All those called step forward."

"Niran Pirosis." a girl near the end of the hall walked forward, uncertainly.

"Nythe Snyder." a boy this time.

"Sofia Matuic." the mute girl with the birds, ah. She could cause quite an uproar for one who couldn't speak.

"Hayden Storm. Luna Wenchester."

Lyeskij stared at the students for a few seconds. "Two days of detention. You will be skipping combat practice and instead be assisting Mr. Sennar. You may sit down."

Another pause, then, "Nicholas James. Two days of detention. Unlike your friends, however, you will be attending lessons with me, to teach you self-control. You may sit."

A longer pause.

"John Shades. Belle Silth."

They stepped forward.

"A trimester of detention, the both of you. Furthermore, all your privileges are revoked from this point on for the same period of time. Further transgressions will result in expulsion.

Good day to you. I will be watching."

Lyeskij stood, and walked out, to outraged hissing.

Hayden storm

When I woke up this morning it was early and I was wide awake so I tried to be as quiet as I could so I wouldn't wake up my room mate. Then poked Hades with my mind to wake him up so we could do some training before I went to the main hall.
i was in the middle of the field feeling the low fog and wet dirt under my feet come alive. I moved the fog into a large swirling ball and made it into a small cloud that produced rain. Then where it rained I moved the mud and had the grass that was on top be swallowed up but after that I had new grass grow in its place." how was that?"
" It was good but tomorrow I want a larger cloud ok we are done now go to the hall" ordered Hades as he walked toward the forest.

When i get to the Hall it is full of people then a man that looked to be in charge said "I will have. Silence" is a way that made me obey."It has come to our attention that there have been some... rebellious attitudes... in this school," he began. "Too much freedom was given. Now that I'm back from my trip, that'll change. In primis, there is a school schedule affixed to the boards in the hall. I suggest you take a look. "All those called step forward Niran Pirosis,Nythe Snyder,Sofia Matuic,Hayden Storm. Luna Wenchester" I walked up knowing full well why I'm going up. People watched as we all went up to the man and looked at him. "Two days of detention. You will be skipping combat practice and instead be assisting Mr. Sennar. You may sit down." I start to think who is Mr. sennar and what will we be doing? so I followed Luna and asked her "Who is Mr.Sennar and what will we be doing

We were all sitting in the hall when the headmaster walked in. He did not look happy.

"I will have. Silence," he said evenly.

It feel silent in the hall as we waited for him to continue.

"It has come to our attention that there have been some... rebellious attitudes... in this school," he began. "Too much freedom was given. Now that I'm back from my trip, that'll change. In primis, there is a school schedule affixed to the boards in the hall. I suggest you take a look.

We all stepped forward. Lyeskij stared at us for a long moment. "Two days of detention. You will be skipping combat practice and instead be assisting Mr. Sennar. You may sit down."

Another pause, then, "Nicholas James. Two days of detention. Unlike your friends, however, you will be attending lessons with me, to teach you self-control. You may sit."

Lyeskij stood, and walked out, to outraged hissing. Man, are you kidding me? How the hell did anyone find out about last night? Hayden walks up to me."Who is Mr.Sennar and what will we be doing?"

I sigh. "He's the handy man here at the school."

"So we gave to help him fix things?" he asks.

"Basically," I nod. "yea."

"Dude," Lini comes up and sits beside me. "what the hell did you do?"

"I'm not telling you jack squat, so don't bother." I got up and headed for the bathroom.

Lini followed. "Wait! Where are you going?"

"To the bathroom." I sling my bag over my shoulder.

"Where's Yuna?" Lini frowns.

I stop. Hm. Come to think of it, where was she? I headed outside toward the edge of the trees. I cupped my mouth in my hands and and let out a four tune whistle, and as always, she came stopping at the tree line. I dropped to one knee and hold my hand out for her. Slowly she walks forward to place her muzzle there and meet my eyes. I smile and move to kiss her head while stroking her beautiful fur. "Hello my beautiful beast."

I have missed you. she replied.

"How have you been?" I ask.

Yuna follows as we head back inside. I've been well.

I smiled. Same as she ever was. Yuna had been with me my entire life even though I hadn't realized it. When ever I was sad, she'd be there. When ever I was bored, she was there. When ever I was scared, she'd be there. She was always there. We chatted as we headed for the bathroom and caught up. "So why didn't you come home with us?"

It was a matter in dire need of handling. she didn't elaborate, which meant I'd probably never know what it was.

"Did you get it taken care of?" I ask.

That remains to be seen. was her reply.

Firesmith:
I was now furious. The "headmaster" was telling me i needed help? Who did he think he was? He even is giving everyone detention for something written in the handbook. I know because Nashai expicitely and repeatedly read and scolded the handbook to me to ensure i listened to her. I definately am not attending detention for something thats supposed to increase grades, not disrupt school schedules. I think i should give this guy a peice of my mind

Nashai:
I knew Firesmith was angry. He was steaming again and i saw a glimmer of fire starting to show through his nostrils. He was on his temper flair again. I knew this wasn't good. I was mad too, but at least i was controling myself, as it was the proper thing to do. I wonder what is causing his increased temper issues? What/Who is the real reason behind this?

I had a cast on my arm from my injuries, I hate the food slowly but quietly. The headmaster charmed us to silence. He mumbled several things that I didn't listen to.

"It has come to our attention that there have been some... rebellious attitudes... in this school," he began. "Too much freedom was given. Now that I'm back from my trip, that'll change. In primis, there is a school schedule affixed to the boards in the hall. I suggest you take a look.

They stepped forward.

"A trimester of detention, the both of you. Furthermore, all your privileges are revoked from this point on for the same period of time. Further transgressions will result in expulsion.

Good day to you. I will be watching."

I was surprised by this, I pulled my student handbook out.

"Mr. Vladimirovich, your school handbook says that." I was suddenly cut off.

"The rules are changing around here now that I'm back." He says over me, "Question me again and I'll increase the punishment for all." I bowed slightly to show my apologies and return to my seat.

Belle

As soon as I heard my punishment, I slammed my fist on the table and left the hall. Raphael soon followed after me. As I reached an isolated are I threw a fire ball high in the sky, until it came in contact with the boundary. I continued this until I was calmed down. I fell to my knees, then to the ground. Raphael sprinted over to see if I was fine. I pushed him away, "Leave me be, last thing I need is for you to be hurt." I sat up, having my back turned to him. We've been friend quiet awhile now, and he protected me no matter what. I knew I was blushing now, I tried my best to hide my from him.

The headmaster sucked the first day he came back, which is an understatement right now. Punished for doing something that was allowed doesn't suck anymore as doing something against the rules and getting caught, which is still stupid. But Niran was grinning from ear to ear as two people, John and Belle, were given harsher punishments. I looked at John, he looked, for some reason, disgusting, I mean he looked normal. But something about him just disgusted me, the girl, Bella I had to admit she had some nice legs. She had a great figure and nice long hair, I think I should get to know her for later, but the third one, Raphael, he looked how I remember him, he his arm always in his jacket. His sword as long as his body, he was still the same as always. The headmaster dismisses them, and Bella and John separate, Raphael follows behind, he must be her guardian.

"Niran, what do you think, I do believe that I'll have to see the Bella girl later." My bird said.

Niran nodded "Aren't you going to have that experiment? I been looking forward to it." She said.

I had nearly forgot about that, now that Niran reminds me today was Sunday in which we had the day off. Sweet, perfect timing since I actually got some rest last night. I nodded at what she says.

"Yea, I was, wasn't I? Meet me in the gym, hopefully it'll be cleared out." My bird said.

Raphael

"No can do." I said quietly.

Bella had her fits of rage, in full honesty she was beautiful when she was mad. I lean against the wall and slid down and meet her where she was sitting, I looked at her closer, and I could see she was blushing, which made her normally pale cheeks pinkish all the cuter. Ha listen to me, commenting on a girls looks when I've stared death in the face far to many times in the past. Oh how I remember how I could leave my life of pain and be freed to the otherside, but fate has yet to play a hand with me.

"I'd take all the pain in the world, if it makes you happy, and still stand at your side as your guardian. If I didn't want to, then I would never have made the pledge." I said.

Her frown turned into a shy smile and looked at me, the ring of fire that circled her eyes danced with passion. Her smile made this job all the more worth it, I looked away, half expecting John to appear any moment now.

John Shade/Dark Stripes

I stomped into my room. Two months of detention. Just great. I growled as I laid on my bed. "I oughta wring Belle's neck for getting me into that fiasco."
Serena stretched lazily. In all fairness, Master, you were one of the three who caused the fight in the first place. Let's not forget that you had that kind of punishment so many times, you were held back in the tenth grade.
I growled. "Don't remind me, Serena. I was so close to having Niran as mine and she just had to sic her bird at me and the headmaster had me held back on Niran's word. Why am I always getting the harshest of punishments in my lifetime?" I sighed and closed my eyes in defeat.

Niran Pyrosis/Fire Gypsy

Poe perched on my shoulder as I walked towards the gym. It's a good thing Dark Stripes got a longer sentence than you did, Mistress. He deserved it anyway. Remind me, how many times did he face detention in the tenth grade?
I shrugged. "More times than I can remember. All I do know is that he had so much detention in his record, he got held back. If he keeps this up, he'll get held back again. That'll be the day I'm rid of him for life."
Poe ruffled his feathers. Agreed. I always hated that cat of his, too.
I went to the gym and found Sofia there with her intercom bird. "Okay, Sofia. Shall we begin?"
Look down and show some mercy if you can.
Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.

Firesmith:
Well, back in the dorm room again, where I met with Nithe and we discussed what to do with the detention. I was still raging, but Nashai kept me calm and I simmered through. At least I now had 2 people who cared what I did for more then safety. There was that familiar sense here again and I couldn't shake it. That person from my past was here, but why? Why now and not sooner or later?

Fire and me returned to our room, it being sunday. We discussed the detentions, and had it almost settled.

"Here, take this with you when you practice with the headmaster." I pulled a necklace out with a ice blue medallion, it had ancient writing on it. "This has been pasted down my family, it's suppose to help focus power or something. I've never needed it, though you don't either. I'm enchanting it so that it will also let you communicate, and it also will provide a chilling aura to help you keep calm. Wear it if you want." I threw it to Firesmith, he looked at it and seemed to be fascinated by the metal. It was a very unique metal, rarely used in the magic realm. "Well whatever you decide, I'm going to the gym. I heard they had intelligent dummies to practice against. I walked the halls to the gym, and was about to enter when I felt magic coming with in. I walked around to the stairs of the upper area of the gym, behind the bleachers. The silent girl and the gypsy were here.
I walked out from behind them and sat down. though he wasn't hiding physical, he suppressed his magic aura and the girls didn't seem to notice him. He watched them for awhile then he saw someone at the other corner, he couldn't be sure but he thought it was John Shade.

Belle

"I'd take all the pain in the world, if it makes you happy, and still stand at your side as your guardian. If I didn't want to, then I would never have made the pledge." Raphael said. My frown turned into a shy smile and looked at him, he looked away and I knew why. John usually showed up now. I took the chance and regained control of my emotions, but was still blushing a tiny bit. "So, what shall we do? We have today as a free day, unless that is part of my revoked permissions. Maybe we could go to the library?" Belle wanted to check out some books, but recently she was busy. She also though it would be a great way to get to know each other.

Sofia

Niran makes her appearance, she smiles as I was ready, in one hand I held my Ballistic Knife in my hand. I was nervous to say the least, my hands shock with both fright and anticipation. If everything went wrong then Niran would be hurt, but if everything went right, then I would have made a breakthough. I took a deep breath, and look at her.

"I'll need your staff, it's temporary I promise." My bird said.

Niran hands me her staff without second thought, I felt heat coming from it. Like she had burned it recently for firewood, but it didn't burn away. I sighed again, as I looked at Niran. She was standing in front of me, I raised both my arms into the air, and a sudden frightening but somehow pleasing chill ran though the air. I followed my summoners instincts, and kept pushing forward with the ritual, I lowered my arms back down and held my my hands together with Niran's staff and my knife between my hands. A small blue fire appeared, setting my hands ablaze. But it didn't hurt me, the flame fell to the floor, Niran was gone now, no where to be seen. But I had to continue in hopes that I'm doing everything right. I raised the staff into the air and brought it down on the flame, it burst into a large circle around me. I kneel down, I was following my instincts as a summoner. The floor beneath me rises up into the air, in a large chamber like container, then suddenly it bursts, I fly into the air, only to be caught by a beast I've never seen before. I land on it's big beefy arm and it lands protecting me, I get off and it roars fiercely like a wild beast, the roar was frightening, but somehow it was to protect me me.

"You've done it Sofia! I've transformed!" I hear in my head.

"Niran? Your the beast? It's like Shiva, only your on fire." I thought back.

The beast, or Niran looks at her new form. She stood like a man, but had features like a beast. It was great, the summoning worked.

"Oh my god what is that!" I hear from behind the beast.

Niran turns to look at it, the beast form not helping at all. I come around quickly, and see it's one of those guys from the other day. Two thoughts occurred to Sofia, one the new form is perfected, and two someone saw it before unveiling it to the headmaster.

"It's okay! It's okay! Everything is under control!" My bird says.

Raphael

"Only as you wish." Raphael said.

Raphael didn't know what Belle saw in him, but she seemed interested in him, interested in a dare devil who sought death. But Raphael stood by Belle's side, the more the better. Belle got up, and Raphael followed behind heading towards to the library, seeing Belle from behind, there was no doubt in Raphael's mind that Sofia liked what she saw. But Raphael focused on other matters at hand, they were in the library now, it seemed empty, void of any students. Belle was smart, probably smart enough to out plan anyone, he didn't know for sure. That's when a powerful roar ripped though the building, it seemed to come from the gym.

"Sounds like the headmaster pays a high price for his mishap." Raphael said.

"What do you mean?" Belle asked.

"A beast is loose, a powerful one at that. And it's in the gym." Raphael replied.

Belle looked unnerved someone had summoned a mighty beast and there were going to be many, many problems.

"Shall we go meet this beast and slay it? Maybe The headmaster will remove your punishment if you do so. You have my blade to help you of course." Raphael said.

Niran Pyrosis/Fire Gypsy

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was completely converted from a human to some kind of beast made entirely out of fire. I was amazed to pieces.
A voice snapped me back to reality. Someone spotted me in my transformed shape. Although Sofia's intercom bird said that everything was under control, I could tell it wasn't. If the headmaster found out about this, my two-day detention might extend to a trimester. Poe was panicking in the air. Mistress, you better get back to normal before the headmaster gets here! I don't want to spend a long time stuck in a cage!
I looked at Sofia. "Reverse this before the headmaster finds out about this, Sofia. I don't want to spend a longer sentence of detention." I felt like I was shaking in my boots - if I was ever wearing any boots.

John Shade/Dark Stripes

I heard a roar and deduced that it was from the gym. "Serena, who do you suspect was that?"
Serena sat on her cat pillow. I have no idea, but I get the feeling it might be someone you know. It would be wise to investigate, but I advise you do it with caution. The headmaster might have eyes around the halls and I'd hate to spend more than two months using a dirty litter box.
I cringed. Serena was never fond of a dirty litter box and neither was I. "I'll go check it out. Stay here while I go see what's going on." I snuck out of my room and went to the gym. What I saw was a tremendous surprise. A beast of hellfire in the same place as the mute girl with the bird. I raised my brow, looking at the hellfire beast in utter fascination. Whoever summoned such a beast must've had a lot of practice, since summoning was hard at first attempt.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.

Firesmith:

Shortly after Nithe left, I heard a loud growl in the distance. I appreciated Nithe's act of kindness and quickly threw on the medallion before I ran off to see what mythical mayhem was going on now. When I got there, I felt something terrible, something worse then the monster's growls. It was the connection to my past that I was feeling, and it was him. The biggest enemy I ever faced, whom had hired the assasin to kill me several years back. Now my rage boiled and I was ready to take my revenge.

Nashai:

It's him. The connection that me and Firesmith felt. He was angry and I felt it now more then ever. He threw off the medalion he was given and placed it in a safe spot before charging in, which meant I needed to follow. The guy that was there will never be forgotten, and we will never forget her face. It was Raphael, and he made our blood boil over, and even made me angry, a hard task indeed.

I'd been headed to the library when a giant shock wave of energy came out of nowhere and caught my attention. I frowned and turned to backtrack, which led me to the Gym where I saw Sofia and this massive sized flame beast. I let out a low whistle. It takes slot of power to do something like that, and only a handful of people in this school can do it. Including my sister and I. Then a wave of something foul shook a shudder from my body and I looked around the Gym. I spotted Raphael, the guy from earlier, standing at the opposite entrance with the Belle, another person from earlier. Then I spotted Firesmith to my far right looking like he was steaming mad. He threw off something around his neck and charged forward. His beast beside him followed suit, and looked just as mad as him. Oh crap.

Spoiler
I do apologize. My posts are usually much longer than this as you well know, but I just don't have it in me right now.

Lyeskij | His office

Lyeskij typed at his computer, barely glancing at either keyboard or screen. Beside him, on the paper-strewn desk, a goblet sat, the red liquid inside steaming, as usual.

Another bank of monitors was affixed to the opposite side of the desk. They showed different areas of the school, as seen by the cameras installed throughout the complex. Lyeskij stroked Bacchus, his snake, idly with a finger, as his eyes darted around the various screens.

Suddenly, a shockwave so powerful it shifted the papers on Lyeskij's desk rippled across the floor. The cameras installed in the gym showed a massive fiery beast standing in the center of the floor, while a boy -- Nicholas -- charged another -- Raphael -- flames flickering around his fists.

Lyeskij was up and running, vaulting over the desk, Bacchus slithering away in fright. Inhuman anger contorted his features. Even after he thought he had made it expressly clear there was to be no combat, they still persisted. Perhaps he had grown soft, or perhaps he had underestimated the rebelliousness of teens. Either way, he was going to do something about it.

He would never make it in time if he walked, this required a more unconventional means of transport. Stopping, the headmaster closed his eyes and concentrated. He breathed in deeply, then exhaled. His breath came out black and murky, a cold phantom. Leering out of coal red eyes, it enveloped Lyeskij, then sank through the floorboards, moving with alarming speed. The headmaster felt but an unpleasant tingling sensation in his stomach. In his youth, he had used phantoms and shadows wherever he went, for effect. Now, he preferred to conserve his power for when it was actually needed... like today.

Lyeskij stepped out from the gym floor, to the horror of students around, brushing dust from his jacket. He dismissed the phantom, and appraised the situation. Raphael had drawn his sword, and was eyeing Nicholas with an air of arrogant contempt. The beast was moving towards the two, though the floor was scorchless.

The headmaster extended his arms, hands splayed, fingers trembling. Nicholas slowed, as if struggling against an internal brake. His flames quenched, yet still he tried to walk, eyes burning with hate. Lyeskij balled a fist, and Nicholas' eye twitched. He opened his mouth, blood seeping from the corner.

"Stop resisting," Lyeskij called, "and you won't hurt yourself."

Nicholas' knee bent seemingly of their own volition, his arms crossed behind his back, and he sank to the floor. Raphael stood, immobile, as if frozen. Did they, students, think they could outmatch he, the headmaster?

"Whoever summoned this beast had better dismiss it now!" Lyeskij roared. "I could dissipate it myself, but then, whoever did this will not get off lightly."

For a few moments, silence. The beast stopped. Then, a clap rang out, and the flames died away, revealing a girl, staring at herself in wonder. The summoner walked forward, a touch of defiance in her stride. Ah, Sofia Matuic. The same old people, each and every time.

"Explain yourself," said Lyeskij.

"Sir, it was for experimentation," said the girl's parrot. "Nobody was hurt. Even the floors are unmarked, see?"

The headmaster was silent for a while.

"Indeed," he said. "You will not be punished for this -- this time. I'd appreciate it if, however, you warned a staff member before attempting another conjuration in the future, and performing one where nobody will get hurt."

"Of course, sir," said the girl.

"You will get a chance to use this beast again, however," Lyeskij continued. "I have decided to allow students to discharge tension, albeit in the safest way I deem possible. A tournament."

There was a collective gasp.

"It will be held next week, outside in the gardens," said the headmaster, "after you attend your detentions, to be fair to all."

He then turned to Nicholas and Raphael. "As for you two... you will come with me. I demand an explanation for this. And James, you'd best make it a convincing explanation. Your detention just doubled. Furthermore, you will not participate in the tournament. It seems you cannot spend a day without attacking anyone."

"Everyone dismissed!"

Firesmith:

I continued with the headmaster to his office, angrier now that he stopped my revenged. Did he know the trouble he was causing to the student body by stopping me? Did he even think about what terrible things this "kid" could commit? Apparently not, so I continued in anger till we reached the headmasters office and he said, "What were you thinking!!!!!! Did you think you would be able to get away with this? I may be old but im not slow. Explain yourself NOW!!!!"
I proceeded with yelling, however much it angered the headmaster, as it vaguely amused me, and yelled, "Do you know who this supposed child is you idiot!?!?!?!? This her is the presence of the man who hired that sniper which cause this aweful thing called BLINDNESS. How would you feel if you just me the person who ultimately ruined your life due to a little dragon-racism? I bet you'd be pretty dang angry too. This is that person, just conjuring himself into a younger form. Don't you know what you did here?"

Nashais POV:
We arrived at the headmasters office, me slightly smaller, and I heard Firesmiths long shpiel and backed him up, "Its true headmaster, I sense the exact magical field that Raphael from Firesmiths youth, about 6-7 years or so ago, here. Raphael then was the same age as he appears now and that cannot be possible, as he would have shown significant change by then. He hired that hitman to try and kill Firesmith. The only reason I know when I hadn't existed in the time is that I was still Firesmith's dragon form, so when we suffered the split, it also caused duplicate memories in the two of us all the way back to when he was 5. This guy will stop at nothing to kill any form of dragon or "lower lifeform" he sees as lower. He will cause mayhem at this school and I know it. You can ask anyone we've met and they will back me up about me not getting angry without true cause, Firesmith being a different case. He gets angry fast, but never as fast as he has. The extreme anger lately I believe has been caused by Raphael's arrival. Please believe us."
