Hey ^^ KatKage here ^^ Some of you may know, some may not ^^

ok, so anyway;

As some of you may know, I have many story ideas with many characters. They stick to their own worlds, acting of their own will, Peacefully unaware of the fact that they are in my mind ^^

But last night, this all changed.

I was making a character for a storybook (hi Aqua~chama ^u^), and I take a break from filling out a profile and go to wash the dishes. As I'm washing the dishes, the character (Jay ^^) appears in m mind, just floating around in there; except he's looking right at me.

He's like 'Hey', then I'm like 'Hey'. I just went with it even though this never happened before.

And i say to him 'Hey! You better get down on the paper, ya know?' (<~aluding to the fact that he better reveal himself to me so I can write him down ^^)

He's just silent, staring at me. (as per his personality ^^ He's a guy of few words ^^)

I sigh and ask Aqua~chama if I can reserve a spot, since i probably wouldn't have gotten him down in time. After Aqua saves me a spot (Thank you! ^^) I turn back to him and say 'ok, you have some time. But you have to get down onto the paper, ya hear?'

He's silent as usual. Then I see his back story (really sad /-\ he showed it to me) and almost start crying but in my mind I am (crying that is ^^) and I'm hugging him cause, hey, it was terrible (it was really bad /~\). He stays quiet, but he knows what I'm doing.

So the next day (today ^^) He floats in and out of my thoughts all day until I get to 9th period. The teacher has the music on, and I hear classic instraments, like the violin ^^ So I was just thinking of this anime clip I saw once of a girl playing the violin when BAM I hear a piano coming from the speakers. Instantly, I see Jay playing the Piano. My reaction;

"What the Heck?!" O0o

While he's playing he turns and looks at me and right then my mind cuts back to the girl with the violin. I'm still like O0o. Then it fuzzes out and I see Jay playing the violin with his back to me, then he turns and looks me full in the face.

I'm like !oOo!

The bell rings and when I go outside to get to the busses, I see him on the violin yet again (again he's looking at me) and realize;

!O0O! He likes music! X3

Later on in the day, althogh he didn't look at me that time, he's singing to himself one of my favorite songs and I'm like ! XD !

But yeah. I found this a little wierd ^^ But I love it, cause for once one of my characters is aware of my existance!

What are you guys thoughts? ^u^

Mine do. Always. They complain sometimes, or they pester me for their own stories and stuff. It's annoying and sometimes a little weird, but hey. o.O They're there and they talk to me. XD Stubborn characters, too, sometimes.

Mine kind of acknowledge me as some inner voice inside them, not as an author (which is really weird when you think that I'm talking to the little voices inside me.) I push and prod them gently if I need them to change course and get them to dictate things to me. If I push them too hard in the wrong direction they react in the same way a lazy person does when they *know* they should do one thing but that inner sloth weighs them down like a ton of bricks.

Most of them don't outright acknowledge me except Ping. He's an annoyance for it and I can't make him stop, but he enjoys dropping subtle hints about me into the novel and then when I try to shove him out a window he grins smugly because if I did the others would notice something greatly amiss.

I can't help but feel a bit jealous whenever somebody says they can sort of hear and see their characters in their head. It just seems like you guys would have an easier time writing because you know exactly what your characters are like and what they would do and say.

Mine don't speak to me like I'm writing for them...it's more like they're talking to themselves in their minds. And they start yapping at the weirdest times, too. My fantasy narrator, Zea, usually starts talking while I'm running, or when I'm on the golf course. And Arius, the love interest, sneaks up on me at school, which is rather unlike him...although I did basically ruin his life in the story. Maybe it's payback.

@Grin

Like with anything it has its positives and negetives. With characters that don't talk to you, you can change them as you wish. You can plot out your novel see it through to the end. If you realise you suddenly need to make your character a little more confident in order for that mid-novel romance work, it will happen.

Characters that talk to you are characters who will refuse to be more confident. Instead, they'll just go and fall in love with the wrong person and you'll have to reconfigure your novel around this new development, which sometimes means scrapping the whole plot all together.

It isn't just characters from my current project; I'm fairly sure *all* my characters talk to each other. However, Mia from "The Touch" is the most vocal when it comes to talking with me.

Only the characters I personally create know me xD.
All the rest of them just live up there in the world with my characters.
As far as talking to me, only one of my character (who I call my 'imaginary friend') does it. We have very in depth conversations sometimes, too.

Haha, nice ^u^ Lucky X3

I recently made a new character who's appearance was modeled after me, and her personality somewhat as well. Although she doesn't fully acknowledge me (as far as I can tell ^^'') I do feel a deep conection with her X3
