Ace

I grip her hand, "She's okay, amoureux. She's fine. She's waiting for you. Just stay awake for her, for me. Okay?"

Bella

I hear all the gunshots and bring a hand on my wound, my hands still stained in blood.

Ace

I move her hand away and let the doctor work, noticing that he's almost done. After he finishes, he injects something in her arm and looks up at me.

"She lost too much blood," he reports.

"Take some of mine then," I say, holding out my arm.

"You have to be--"

"We're the same f*cking type, now take it," I interrupt, looking back down at her.

Bella

I swallow, passing unconscious.

Ace

I tap the side of Bella's face, shaking my head as he takes blood from me, "Mon amour, réveillez-vous. Wake up, Bella."

Bella

I moan, my face pale.

Ace

The doctor starts transfusing my blood into Bella's arm, and I wait for her to wake or to give me a sign that she's okay.

Bella

I slowly open my eyes and yawn.

Ace

I flash a smile and stroke the side of her face with my thumb.

Bella

I blink a couple times, swallowing.

Ace

I notice people are looking at us and, to save face, I scoop Bella up gently and bring her up to my room.

Bella

I close my eyes, still shaky.

Ace

I pull the covers gently over her and take her hands, hesitating before getting up to grab a damp cloth and wash them for her.

Bella

I weakly open my eyes and watch him, bringing one hand over my stomach.

Ace

I clean my hands after hers and discard the cloth, hesitating before lying beside her.
