Gods.

Twelve superpowerful entities of different races, they were granted superhuman abilities to ensure the stability of Earth. They’re all slightly stronger and faster than ordinary humans, and can perform an array of incredible moves, even something approaching magic. They also have slightly increased life-spans, though this varies race by race. These abilities are called Drives, although few address them as that.

Their Drives are inextricably linked to their personality and their self-proclaimed goal in life. Drives may alter over time due to this, but only if the God in question goes through an intense introspective analysis, or alters his/her beliefs in some way. Gods aren’t born with their Drives, they must gain and develop them as time passes. The period the first Drive is activated is usually around 16-18, then 25-30. Once again, age varies from God to God.

Depending on the God’s skill, they may activate any one of their Drives pretty much at will, though restrictions vary.

Drives --

Passive Drive (PD): the ‘non-offensive’ Drive (usually), Passive Drives are usually linked to ideology rather than methodology. For example, a warrior who desires peace’s Passive Drive will probably be some kind of shield or healing. Then again, it may not. Drives are always unique. Passive Drives usually require concentration, and are almost always limited to defensive skills.

Offensive Drive (OD): the more offensive drive, Offensive Drives are usually linked to methodology. However, Offensive Drives are unstable in the sense they’re linked to emotion. Using an Offensive Drive in a moment of anger will increase the Drive’s performance, but probably be harder to control and restrain. Offensive Drives are usually offensive skills (hence the name).
Overdrive: The most powerful ability of any God, they can only be activated when certain requirements are met. These Drives are linked entirely to the God using them, and have no discernible pattern. The Gods use them only as last resort, not only because they’re hard to activate, but also because they can be dangerous to their stability and sanity.

Of course, there are those who would abuse their powers and exert control over ‘lesser beings’ -- namely, all other living creatures. These are known as Dark Gods. There is only one great Dark God, Quetzalcoatl, Serpent of Dark Rainbows, but he is gathering followers, and other Gods are being tempted to his side.

Will you choose the side of darkness, or will you aid the sentient race against Quetzalcoatl and his minions?

Name (Full name, if known, nickname, if any, and alias, if any) Amara "Q1" Saree

Age (keep it above fifteen unless otherwise specified): 23

Gender: Female

Appearance(be detailed, a picture is fine if you have one):

This is Amara
1206415117302.jpg (7.79 KiB) Viewed 250 times

Personality (Just a few brief sentences, personality should be apparent in the posts): She is a noble woman, tho she can be self righteous when she has a problem with people. But she often tries to move past that, she does try to be a role model for children a "pillar of heavenly light" if you will. When shes in battle shes a ruthless warrior, known for dispatching enemies in the most effective way.

History: Amara had grown up in a poor family, a family that had nothing for itself and could barely get a job. Could barely keep a home, from an early age she helped her family out by getting a job weather it be as a messenger girl or a waitress at a nearby inn. Amara refused to become a prostitute like her mother having to much pride working as she was now, eventually she met a knight from the castle that helped her out of some trouble with men who believed they could take what they want. Afterwards the knight had asked her to come along with him to a training field where other knights went to train. When they got there other knights had watched and Amara could tell they were laughing.

The knight had taught her how to swordplay the knight had found her a natural at it, eventually the knight and her had grown close and eventually was allowed to move into the castle. She had joined the Order of Knighthood as the first female knight, eventually was wedded to the same Knight that had protected her though the years. But after a few days that her knight had gone off on a mission from the king, she received a letter that had told her that he had been killed in combat. All tho she cried her eyes out, it had only hardened her resolve and pushed her to be the best there was. This had activated both her passive and offensive drive. But she disappeared one night and was never heard from the kingdom again.

She is now in the service of the Dark God Quetzalcoatl, no one knows for sure how the god had come to pull such a honorable knight into his services. But as far as anyone can figure out, Quetzalcoatl has something over her.

Passive Drive (if any, specify the limitations): Knights Honor, when Knights Honor is activated, she heals much faster than any normal god can. All tho when activated she can barely move her whole body it will feel like lead to her, and she can only activate it outside of battle. If anyone is to attack while it is activated, chances are shes a goner.

Offensive Drive (if any, specify the limitations): Sonic Slice: When activated she can swing her sword so fast that she can send out slices of pure sound, the drive can only be activated for a short time and normally exhausts her after its shut off. This can be reactivated, but it will take a terrible toll on her body.

Overdrive(specify the limitations): Black Bloodlust: This can only be activated only if it becomes absolutely necessary, two conditions must be met. Either A) Amara's life is an absolute danger or B) Lives are lost at the millions. Amara releases the power of her training, when her overdrive is activated she gains the speed greater than any god or goddess. She can cut down whole armies with this overdrive leaving nothing but destruction in her wake, she has no memory of what she had done after her overdrive becomes deactivated. And can only be awake for a short few minutes after it is deactivated.

Other(up for love, pet, if any, preferred weapon, if any, theme tune, etc etc): She is not up for love, she is scared and emotionally shut down. She rides an armored horse and prefers her sword (Picture will be added later.) And she does have a theme.

Name: Voryan (Tyrant of Shadows)

Age: 1,455

Gender: Male

Appearance: Stands at six feet six inches with a slim yet well muscled figure.

Personality: Quiet, usually silent unless he feels as if an answer is required to those who question. He eternally seeks for knowledge, as to Voryan it is power, and those who insult his intellect or experience he will quite indifferently add their souls to his collection. He is emotionless, insensitive and unprejudiced, as no person has any particular greater value, as all are disposable should the Tyrant of Shadows aspire to be it so.

History: Voryan never talks about his history, as he knows that it reveals information that leads to identification of his weaknesses. Wild legends are told of his origins, but what is for definite is that he was born a god and knew nothing at all except how to steal the souls of the terminally afflicted, and grew in power until this day.

Passive Drive: Foreboding Darkness:
Active at all times, a group of shadows endlessly follow Voryan, echoing whispered cries of those he has harvested. The darkness reveals the immorality and guilt within those who feel such emotions to themselves causing varying effects depending on the way the subject deals with emotional turmoil. No birds sing, young plants wither and die. The shadows technically deal no harm, but amplify the eerie air that orbits the necromancer.

Offensive Drive: Soul Steal:
Voryan can, quite simply, take and store the essence of a living creature close to its demise, consuming its life force than can be converted into energy that can be used for his overdrive or to allow more space for knowledge within his mind. He must retain a certain amount of essence to keep his sanity and his own life. It slowly depletes over time.

Overdrive: Anodus Nekron:
This ability allows Voryan to reanimate the dead, no matter what species or condition the remains are in (although he will not waste strength in investing energy into bodies that are not combat worthy). To do this, he must sacrifice a large amount of essences he has collected from dying people, to either produce a greater amount of vessels or simply strengthen a smaller quantity. Wasting too much off his collected essences will deplete his knowledge, then rationality, and finally his own life force. Energy can be deposited in vessels however, it cannot be repossessed.

Other:
Sword and armour listed in picture under appearance. Not up for love, keeps no company at all.
Theme tune:
Spoiler
Laments of passion
Obstructed by fear.
Under guises of jovial chatter;
Incredulous hopes
Steadily feasting away-
Eating away at my heart.
