@Lit -- the queen's name is Mary Genevieve Catherine, as said in my profile. Sorry. Furthermore. Ibrithil is also King of Spades. You might want to edit that. Sorry for being such a nit-picker.
@Demora -- depends on what Lit wants. Dunno, I was hoping Rosarius would be an only child...

Genie's a bit too young for the character I'm making so I'm just gonna make her head soldier instead if that's alright but maybe there's some kind of connection between the two girls though, I don't know gotta wait for her first

Name:Mystique Dementia
Gender:female
Age:17
Suit:Spades
Position:Head soldier
Appearance:tall slender frame with a semi pale complexion along with sharp cunning dark midnight blue eyes with white flecks inside of them, she's also got long straight black hair with a slight curl at the end of it, she always dresses in dark colored pants and either dark red or violet t-shirts with a long trench coat that is just a few sizes too big for her and over her right eye is an dark red spade
Personality:She's very aggressive at times and will take charge a lot since she's Head soldier and takes her job very seriously so she doesn't really have much of a happy zesty side to her and it's very rare to ever see her smile
History:The old head soldier found her as a very small girl and took her in training her while she grew older and was very strict with her so she wasn't ever really playful or anything all she ever did was work none stop the only thing she ever really smiled at was her friend Genie that she was assigned to watch over along with a few other guards that waited outside while she was inside
Romance?:yes and is straight
Combat Experience (Please include weapons known and owned, whether they prefer to fight or not, etc.):She prefers close combat but was trained to be able to do many kinds of combat and for weapons the only gift she ever really got from the head soldier was a set of two pure silver knives that curve down the length of her forearm that have a dark red spade on the end of the handles she wears two on her arms at all times usually and has four more smaller poisoned daggers safely tucked away under her cloak
Given Ability:she can read and talk to people in their own minds and she tampers with a bit of telekinesis as well but it overwhelms her so much that she can get major headaches that will put her in a coma for a few days
Other:nothing

@Italian - If you read her history, her mother was Mary. She's the daughter and fairly new to the throne. See? Also, Rosarius would still be an only child, by all technicalities (since Genie doesn't like him or his father much.) Dem's character would be his... Cousin...? That sounds right.

@Demora - Edit: Oh, ha, never mind. xD

Alright guys, we are now beginning! I'm going to start off with my Rebel. Questions? Feel free to ask~

Rayne Tallisina

I sat against the cave wall, letting the bag of stolen meats fall to the ground beside me. First one back, as per usual, not that I minded the time to think. The rest of the Rebels were still out and about - finding food, gathering supplies, talking to the villagers in nearby towns to see if we could get any new allies. We needed all the help we could get.

I let air slip slowly through my lips, the rare sound of a sigh escaping with the rush. No need to kill anyone today, at least not on my end. I wondered how the others were managing. Most of them were pretty laid back, but I had always been one to worry.

Anyway, there was work to be done.

After a moment of rest, I stood and walked to the wood pile on the other side of the cave. A few choice pieces in my arms, the fire pit centered in between the six rickety beds was my next destination. After putting the wood down, I snatched the matches out of the chest next to my bed - last one on the left - and tossed one in. Immediately the smaller pieces lit, and the flames slowly began to come to life.

And then, unexpectedly, there was the sound of footsteps from outside. A soft crunch, crunch, crunch on the gravel. I reached for my sickle-like knives, yanking them from their sheathes on my hips. Ready, come what may.
I have to write. I have to write the same way I have to eat, the same way I have to breathe. It's like life to me. I have no idea where I'd be if I didn't do what I do.

Blair Devore - Inside the Diamond Castle

Blair looked at the book as she kept her head propped up on her arms studying Diamond military tactics and stratagies, her leg bounced with impatience as she wanted to go back to the Heart Kingdom, but the Diamonds and Hearts were allies, and the diamonds were down a head captian and had no immediate replacement. The Hearts were willing to help out by sending there talented millitary genious to the Diamond kingdom. She sighed as I still had so much studying to do and still so little time before she had to go out and command a portion of the Diamond army, she had no idea what was expected of her, but it was her duty, and she had to stick to it. She closed the book as I finished up the last page, she pushed myself away from the desk and stood.

"Time for a break." She sighed.

Five three hundred page books sat on the desk that she was reading at she had finished the fifth one just now, three more books sat on the bed she would have to sleep in tonight. She may be a military genious, but even geniouses needed breaks. She wanted to go back home to her little sister, there wasn't a day that she didn't love to see her sister smile happily. But there was a few things that she loved and made her want to stay, the first was the great meals that were provided to the Head Soldiers. Even her home kingdom couldn't provide such great food, the second was the prince, he was incrediply handsome. Blair smiled like an idiot everytime she saw him, but he seemed uninterested in her, witch was logical.

He probably wanted a princess or something not a Military woman that could probably kick his arse, all tho there was doubt in Blair's mind that told her that would be fairly hard to do. She wondered to herself if he had a girlfriend already, but shock her head and tried to get her thoughts away from the prince and back to what she was doing. Soon she heard the dinner bell ring and people would assemble into the dinging hall to eat, Blair wasn't complaining, she was rather hungrey and wanting to get away from the books that she had to read eventually. Blair walked to the door and gripped the handle, before she could turn it it turned itself and the door opened and soon someone stepped though...

Rosarius Ibrithil

"Remind me," began Kane, "why the hell are we sneaking off into the library at dinner time?"

Rosarius grinned, walking briskly beside his friend. "Last place they'd look for me," he explained. "Besides, dinner is boring at the palace."

Kane shrugged. Behind them, the chatter of people already assembling could be heard, and the faint aroma of food reached his nostrils, making his mouth water.

"I don't know, Rose," he replied, amiably. "I was looking forward to that capon the cook serves. And the fool Glassbells amuses me. Plus, a library?Really? I thought we were going to the stables or something."

"We will," Rosarius replied, impatiently. "But first, there's a book I need to find."

Kane's eyes bulged. "Since when do you read?" he asked, chuckling.

Rosarius punched his shoulder. "I can damn well read!" he exclaimed. "Plus, this is a book of maps. It should show the secret passageways out of the castle so nobody catches us."

"Ah, right," Kane said, rubbing his well-muscled shoulder.

Rosarius opened the library door, marching forward, and bumped into someone. He cursed and reeled back.

"Watch the hell where you're going, dammit!" Lightning crackled at his fists.

It died down when the prince saw it was a mortified-looking captain guard. She blushed when she saw him, muttered an apology, and fled.

"Who is that careless idiot? Rosarius demanded, rubbing his forehead.

"That's Blair deVoire," replied Kane, promptly. As son of the Diamond Chamberlain, Kane knew everyone in the castle.

Rosarius stared after her. "Did you see that tight little ass on her?" He grinned slyly.

Kane guffawed.

"Ten gold pieces I have her in my bed by the end of the month," Rosarius said.

His friend snorted. "Please. You're too much of a pussy to go to the brothels, let alone win a palace guard into your bed."

Rosarius punched him again, a touch of color creeping up his cheeks. He coughed. "Anyways, let's go get that book."

Lord Ibrithil

The Grand Hall looked pitiful. The vast tables, which could easily house up to five hundred people, were less than half filled. Only minor lords and lickspittles trying to win their lord's favor sat at the tables, and the handful of more elite guard.

The chandeliers were all lit though, and the light bounced off the jeweled inlays and brightly polished silver mirrors that lined the hall. Vast windows looked upon the palace grounds, the river looking especially beautiful in the evening, lights bobbing down the lazy waters.

That at least Ibrithil could admire. Lord Volodymir Ibrithil, King of Diamonds and Spades, Grand Duke of Lowfell and Stormbrow, Third of His Name, sat at his throne, one leg draped casually over the armrest, looking bored.

Dinner was indeed a dreary thing. Oh, the plates were good, and that fool who capered around juggling silverware whilst singing was mildly amusing, but Ibrithil had other things to do.

He stood, stretched, and walked out half-way through the second course, a retinue of servants scuttling about him. Beside him marched his faithful head of the six Diamond Paladins, sworn guard of the King, Ser Ivan Magnusson.

Ibrithil dismissed the servants with a wave.

"Ser Ivan, you may go," he commanded. "I will be going to my rooms." The knight nodded and walked away briskly, one hand on the pommel of his greatsword.

The King walked slowly, cutting through the gardens he so loved. A faint breeze stirred his long white hair. His quarters were located in the East wing of the palace, a tall, fluted tower known as the Scepter. It was identical to its three sisters, the Crown of the West, a place for religious ceremonies, the Shield of the South, where the guards lodged, and the Eye of the North, where council meetings were held.

Ibrithil's tower was the most lavishly furnished. The banisters of the spiral stairs were made of silver with diamond inlay, the red carpets thick and soft, the windows delicately stained glass.

The tower was beautiful, yes, but also had a hidden purpose -- in some parts of the castle, the carefully constructed arches and curves created a Dionysus' Ear. He could hear what went on the levels below without giving away his own position. The echos of the Scepter were deceptive.

Ibrithil pushed open the door of his room. It creaked loudly. The King didn't want anyone sneaking into his chambers, after all. There was no carpet here either, only wooden boards, carefully tuned. He was accustomed to all their sounds.

Ibrithil slipped off his robe and undid his vest. Bare-chested, he walked outside to the balcony, past the great four-poster bed.

The view he had was amazing. The city was spread out below him, a chorus of sights, sounds and smells. He could see the sea from here, even tiny little fishing boats and fat merchant galleys, loaded with their cargo.

The breeze was stronger here. Ibrithil liked the feel of it on his skin. He went back into his rooms, and returned with a silver-colored saxophone slung around his back.

Still bare-chested, he began to play softly. The notes stole across the gardens.

As he played, swaying gently, he thought. His spies had informed him of bolder rebel activity in the underground. Some ambushed guards, stolen cargo. The corners of his lips tugged upwards. How foolish of them. The power of the crown was deep-rooted and firm. The people liked the way their lives were now, and people feared change. Change was the only thing the rebels could promise, and that was a bitter one indeed.

It didn't concern him. He knew he couldn't stop them, all he could do, for now, was play his saxophone and listen to the whispers brought him. Tomorrow he would summon a council meeting, yes, but for now, he was happy to sit back and let the little players play their game.

Satisfied, the King played his saxophone.

Letha Scar
I looked around the library and muttered under my breath "Really Blair leave me alone why don't you?" I raised an eyebrow when I heard the comment that Rosarius made. "Your not in your element Letha." I muttered to myself. "Excuse me what are you doing here?" Kane one of the Chamberlain's son's called. "I'm here with Blair the woman who just left. We're supposed to be studying military strategies. I know she is way to busy to bother with any man or prince at the moment so I wouldn't bother gentlemen." I said and pulled out a book on military strategies and walked past them both leaving them gaping at my back. "Watch your mouths you might catch flies." I called over my shoulder and then went after Blair.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me."

Don't aim at success--the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side-effect of one's dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself.
— Viktor E. Frankl
