Kaul Ngoro | His office, Dark Tribe
I sat in my big black chair, my back to the room, intensely watching a large TV screen with live footage of the simulation room. The girls I had recruited were snowboarding down it, trying to outrun an avalanche I had triggered accidentally with this stupid remote. But hey, it worked. Creole had skipped this particular exercise. I'd speak to him later.
"Intruder! Intruder! Master, there is an intruder!" Vladimir shreiked, although only I could hear his words.
Another voice spoke, one I knew well. "Yes, I know I'm intruding, but what's the point in having fun when it's hard to come by at this day and age?" He had guessed Vladimir's message correctly.
"Master! Aren't you going to do anything about the intruder?" Vlad squeaked, "He does show up at the strangest times, that Pharaoh. Why doesn't he go make a nuisance of himself somewhere else?"
The Dark Pharaoh chuckled a bit. "That's right. I do have a habit of coming and going at the oddest times, but it's a gift." Perhaps the Pharaoh, being a spirit himself, understood Vladimir more than I had previously thought. "I have my master, you have yours. It's all the same thing, either way. Besides, I'm not in here to cause your master any trouble. More like to have a conversation. As the saying goes, I want to have a little heart-to-heart chat with him." The Dark Pharaoh chuckled, and the bat squawked indignantly.
"Hush, Vladimir," I said, stroking the bat's small body as I turned around. "Greetings, little brother," I said with a smile. "It's been a while. What have you been up to all these years?"
