I read this book years and years ago and I can't remember what it was called or who it was by, but I'd really like to read it again. I remember it was a dual narrative about these two sisters, and they didn't get on at all--like seriously, did not get each other.
The first half of the book was told from one sister's POV and the second half from the other sister's POV and it was really cool because each part told the same events but you could see how wildly different the sisters saw things because they read like totally different events. It started with the younger sister's POV; she was really jealous of her older sister because it seemed like she had this wonderful perfect life and she was beautiful and popular and liked this boy that the younger sister liked. And I think the younger sister made a wish or did something mystical or whatever and then their lives started changing, so the younger sister started getting more popular and ended up getting the boy while the older sister lost all her friends and became a social outcast.
-I think the older sister had long red hair.
-One sister had a guitar and the other had a white fur coat and they both got ruined and they thought the other had done it, but they hadn't.
-I think the younger sister had a friend who shoplifted underwear and later on turned mean.
-I think the older sister had a friend who hooked up with a guy at a party who later on dumped her, but she ended up being friends with the younger sister.
And that's about as much as I can remember coherently. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
