Heya! I need suggestions from all of you.
Q1. There's something wrong with Aerith (The girl in the heart) here's the reference. If anyone could just point out what's wrong with her face. (not the hair. the hair was done roughly)

Q2. I need a name for the girl with the short ponytail. Also I need suggestions for her eye and hair color. What color and name would suit her best?
She's a sweet girl who thinks about others before her. She's not very bold or brave but when situation calls for it, she can be brave. (Hope this helps you decide)

(Great drawings, by the way!!!!)

1. Okay...I noticed the forehead curves in too inwards. In the original picture, it's straight. See?
Also, if you look at the original more closely, you can see her head is tilted to the left and is diagonal in a way. Her head in your drawing ISN'T doing that. It's...vertical. ^u^
And the face in the original is longer/larger compared to your drawing. That might be the source of your doubt.

But otherwise, I love the shading and the features and oh my gosh...THE EYES!! So pretty!! >~<

Another thing I noticed...the girl in the original has a sort of sly/innocent look on her face. Yours is just innocent...^^"
The original's eyebrows are slightly raised on the right side of her face (from her perspective)...kinda...(well, it depends on how you look at it, so don't judge me!!... /~\)

2. Name...name...name...name...*ponders*...I'm actually quite horrible at names, so bear with me...maybe Rowan? Or Liyanna? Or Ave? Sorry if you don't like these names. I've always been more into...unusual names. And it's alright if you don't like them.

And I think brown hair and green eyes would suit her best. ^u^

Okay with the drawing it looks great. Do not fret over making it exactly like the original, most likely you will never get it exact. I agree with the guy who gave the first comment on all the slight differences. If you do want to correct them then the way to go is to focus on all her important facial features. I actually do quite a bit of drawing myself and I have come to realise that to capture those slight expressions, moods and character traits you will benefit from adjusting eyes, nose, mouth. Make sure they are as exact as possible in every detail. when i do my drawings based on those features the character begins to take form. For example you have made your mouth smaller than it is in the picture. In the picture there is very little distance from her fringe and the her mouth. In yours there is clear space. That small difference may have well cost you from capturing that sly look but your work with the eyes definitely got her innocence.

Also for the name I was thinking Mia. It is such a wide spread name because it is both used in modern times and also used in older stories. It can be pronounced in two different ways as well. Me-ya and M-eye-ya, if you get what i mean. Also it always strikes me as a good person's name. You don't get many evil MIAs running around do you. And I would go for the green eyes. Think Danii Minogue and Kylie Minouge, they have beautiful green eyes. Green is the right colour since it is soft like brown but it also captures attention fast. If this person is going to care for others then she needs to have that familiar, trustworthy look and since eyes are a huge pointer on that it is important to have ones that can [/b]capture

Hi!

This is so cool you are drawing Aerith, I just started on a Cloud drawing yesterday (your challenge is turning out to be quite a challenge). I'm finding out how hard it is to make a detailed replica of FF characters... just the smallest changes can make them look like different people!

That being said, I think you did a great job here. There isn't anything to worry about, it still looks like Aerith. The other reviewers did an awesome job, so I'll just touch on a few things I noticed (I might be repeating what they said but oh well)

1--The angle of the eyebrows is too sharp, and they are a little dark. If you look at the reference, her brows are actually very light and don't make much of a mark. Yours are a bit more intense.

2--The angle of her face. If you drew a line from the chin to the upper left of her head (that point where skin meets hair) you'll notice there is a slight angle, maybe just 5-10 degrees. There is the browline and cheek that puff out on that edge, but it still angles down to that chin. In your drawing, it's pretty much a straight line from the top of that side of her face to the chin. If that makes sense x)

I think just getting those two things right will change a lot of how this picture looks, because all the rest seems spot-on.

Now I have to say your original character at the bottom is my favorite thing ever, I'm guessing you modeled her off of Aerith. I would love to read something about this character. I'm in love with the realistic, yet manga style to it.

I'd keep her name short, like one syllable. Maybe Dove or Mia like the other person said. You could also name her after a flower or bird.
The bad news is we don't have any control.
The good news is we can't make any mistakes.

Hi there!

1) I don't think there's anything wrong with the girl in the heart. I think it's great! :) Gee, I wish I could draw like that. My mom is an artist, but I didn't get the art genes. *sigh* Anyway, like I said before, I don't think there's anything wrong with the girl in the heart. I do notice that her eyebrows are coming straight down instead of curved like the picture. This makes her face seem a bit more intense. But like Mysto said above, don't get fed up on making it exactly like the original. It looks great.

2) That girl looks like Aerith's little sister! Their faces are so similar. I like the look on her face. It looks like she's curious about something. As for the name, I'm not sure. When I name characters I figure out what their personality is and google names that fit their personality. I think Marika is a cool name. I looked up names meaning 'quiet' because I think she looks like a quiet girl. Just my personal opinion. I also like to find unique names no one has heard before. Marika sounds like one of those names which is why I like it :)

You're a really good artist. These drawings are amazing! I hope to see more of your work.

These drawings are really good. The girl in the first pic is Aerith, if I am not wrong and you have drawn her again in the heart too. Okay, at first you should know that her hairline is ok but the hair is looking kind of puffed out and as if she has used a lot of hairspray or something. And then again The girl in the heart would have looked ok if you drew her facing forwards and not sideways. Great drawings by the way. Keep it up. :)
