Hello everyone. I'm new here and I hope this website will help improve my skills as a writer. I was also wondering if someone could give a quick tour of the whole website. I'd really appreciate it :)

Hi, Trinity! Welcome to YWS!

I'm so happy to see you join. :D

The site's currently going through an update process. It was a complete renovation of the site, so it's actually very new to a lot of old members, too. However, it's still the same ol' YWS!

YWS is all about posting our own work to get reviews in hopes that we can make them better (and also giving out reviews to those seeking advice), and you can find that in the Browse tab up there! To post your own work, there's a Submit button waaay at the top of the page on the black bar. The process should be self-explanatory, but feel free to direct any questions to me or the Questions & Answers forum!

The forum tab has all the forums, including that Q&A forum. ;) Feel free to join the community and talk about writing, play some games, or just hang out and get to know people.

The Blog tab allows you to post in your very own YWS blog. It's slightly different from the rest of the site, so it's understandable if you have questions about this. If so, ask myself or anyone else. Q&A forum, too! :D

Finally, YWS has activities called Storybooks. This is basically a group of members writing a story together. It's more advanced than simple RPs (role-plays) as it requires more effort in continuing the plot of the story. It's a lot of fun, and feel free to join one to get a feel for it! It's nerve-wracking at first (It certainly was for me!), but you soon realize how much fun it can be, especially when doing one with your friends.

Looks like you found the dashboard, since you've got your avatar changed and your signature set! You can also add friends there, too. The more friends you have, the more status updates you see in the People tab. I'll even add you right now so I can see yours!

That went a lot longer than I was hoping it would.... I tend to talk a lot. I'm sorry. xD But! It's wonderful to meet you! I can't wait to see some of your work. What kinds of things do you write/read?

See you around! (i.e. Must end this before I keep talking!)

Hey Trinity!

Welcome to the YWS! We hope you enjoy yourself and to be honest, I know you will because we're just an awesome community who are going to make you feel welcome in the best ways. xD!

Anyways, back to the point. You asked for a tour of the site, so I'd try to help you out on that. Remember, I won't be able to explain everything and you might have to ask around more than once to people who are online and they'd help you out.

-ChatRoom-a.k.a Fun Room-you get to chat to people. Now we have a FB style pop-up chat, too and you can see the black chat bar window at the bottom. Just have fun. And here's the link to chat.

-You have a black bar at the upper most side of the page and the first button is for your own page, then the second for messages(the envelope thingy) and the third is for notifications. Then there's this Submit button which is self explanatory. xD!

-There are many forums you'd find when you click on Forums and I'd just say that you should explore it for yourself to know what it's like. There's this important one though-Will Review for Food. You can request reviews here whenever you post anything.

Well, I guess that should be it. We have tons of things but I guess it's easy to find out on your own. But if you get stuck anywhere or have a question, drop me a PM. I'd try replying ASAP.

It's nice to have you with us. Hope you'd like your journey on YWS because I love it. Plus, tell us more about what you write and read? Any favourite genre, novel?

~Mia

Girrrl, you've got such an awesome start to your YWS life. You got me and Mia just talkin' away about every little detail. (Mia, we rock!)

Also, Mia is probably the best person you'll ever meet here. She's super friendly and active and loves to write awesome things.

ALSO. I love all those genres, Trinity. Seriously, those are, like, the genres I write in. My favorite's fantasy, but I also love sci-fi, and action/adventure are always exciting to write. Like... that's awesome. If you post anything (or already have), let me know! I would love to read it. :D

lol, Jabber, you're totes correct. Trinity, you've got us both lovely members to guide you around. Any problem, and you know whom to contact.

And lol, thanks Jabber. That was so damn sweet of you. I am friendly but not sure about writing awesome things. But I can assure you, Jabber does.

Also, I love sci-fi genre. Even though I'm not a big fan of fantasy, I tend to write it more than often. So, if you post anything do let us know. We'd love to help!

I've read the percy Jackson series it's one of my favorite series and I can't wait till the new book comes out in the fall. Also, I tried reading maximum ride, but I've never liked that style of writing but ive been meaning to try reading it again.

I enjoyed Percy Jackson (the original series, anyway). It was a fun concept, so kudos to Riordan! I'm in the middle of his Kane Chronicles, but I'm having a harder time getting through this series compared to the other one. I'm not sure about trying his Heroes of Olympus series. I've got another book lined up after this series, though.

lulz, I totes read the third book of the Maximum Ride series a few years ago. Just the third book. xD (It was at the airport, okay? And they didn't have the first one!) It was good, though. I'd have liked to have read the other books at the time. I read that third book straight through the 5-hour plane ride!

I've read the first book of the lane chronicles. "The red pyramid". It was pretty good but not as good as the Percy Jackson series and when I have the time I'm going to read the next books of the Kane chronicles.

Huh! My sister said the same thing, Kage. Maybe I'll give that second series a shot then. Just gotta sit myself down and read the rest of this one. I'm with ya'll on the Kane Chronicles, though. It's just not as good. I'm not sure why? I find the Egyptian Mythology very interesting, and his take on it is unique. I feel like it's... I don't know. xD Nothing new? I'm also not a fan of the switching perspectives. I don't know why he's doing that, but it hurts my brain.

Oh! And also, there's an edit button for each of your posts in the forum. It's at the bottom of your signature. :D
