Hey everyone,
I'm 18, from Australia and, unsurprisingly, I love to read. I joined this forum after googling "Young writers forum" because I was looking for a young writers forum. I'm not that great of a writer, I've never written anything outside of school, but I recently decided that I want to try and write some stories. I spend half of my time daydreaming about godknowswhat, so I figured that trying to write might be a fun way to get somewhat less insane.

Uhmmm I live a pretty uninteresting life atm, I'm currently in year 12, am enjoying the benefits of being legal, have an obsession with the video game portal and am looking forward to (hopefully) studying I.T. next year at uni. I wouldn't mind minoring in Journalism as well, but I'm not even sure wether or not that's a thing, so I'm pretty prepared for my future.

Books I love are usually random Penguin classics that I occasionally buy at random, and anything paranormal. I have a secret obsession with werewolf fiction - can't stand vampires though. I also love anything by John Marsden, although he's an Australian author so I have no idea how well known he is abroad.

Aaaand that's my introduction. HI GUYS! Oh and if you have any good werewolf book recommendations then feel free to shout them into my face.

Welcome to YWS, Vertigo! (Cool username, by the way.) I just joined a week ago but I love it so far.

I'm afraid I don't have any werewolf book recommendations, but I do read a lot of classics. What are some of your favorites?

She reflected. "I prefer stories about squalor."
"About what?" I said, leaning forward.
"Squalor. I'm extremely interested in squalor."

Hi, Vertigo! :D

Google dude! I love it when people stumble onto YWS like that. It makes you awesome. (It was recommended to me, so I find the random searches to be quite fabulous. Came entirely of your own free will!)

IT! I'm minoring in IT right now (major in CS), so I definitely approve. I think you'll enjoy it! Since you're a gamer and are very creative, you'll enjoy your studies in that area. I don't know much about journalism minors, but every career needs good communication skills!

When I joined YWS, I also was new in the creative writing genre. I'd like to think I improved since then, so I think you'll find your niche here. :)

I look forward to meeting you some more! Welcome to YWS!

Hi, welcome!

Don't worry about not being very experienced as a writer, we have people from all walks of life here and some come to writing sooner than others. I'm not so ahead on my fiction skills to be honest with you as I didn't start trying stories until I was fifteen and I've probably only attempted eight novels in total and maybe the same again for short stories. And I've done an 'English and Creative Writing' degree at that ;)

So you'll find some people are better than you and others not as good, but we're all here to learn and that's what matters.

I'll hopefully see you around and if you've got any questions or want a review at some point, drop me a line. I'm always happy to help out,

Hola!

Welcome to YWS! How are you finding the site so far? Is it interesting? xD!

Well, I am not crazy about werewolf fictions but I don't mind reading a decent vampire novel which I think is hard to find. lol. But I love Penguin Classics. Besides, I too love anything paranormal. Aren't they just fun, huh? xD!

As you predicted, I don't know much about Marsden but I'd like to give him a try. I really love exploring different books and authors-how much fun it is!

Have fun and drop me a PM if you run into any trouble!

Good luck. Hoping to see you around!
