Lilith Senka

I dodge Danny from ever seeing me and slip in before him as I survey the room then pretend to be another ordinary dark girl who don't wanna be messed with and take a seat beside him. Her face hidden under a hood as she looks around from under her cover then acts bored and doodles on a piece of paper then moves on her her mess of a arm that was just covered in little notes or random drawings that she had done over and over on her pale skin.

I walked through the empty hall ways making my way to the auditorium. After Amanda’s death the staff had decided to put on a memorial slide show-slash- PSA on asthma or whatever. Obviously I was expected to give a speech. I pulled out a compact before stepping inside, making sure my eyes and nose were suitably red.

I bumped into Lilith as I walked up to the stage. Oh Lilith, the outcast, the loner, the traitor. Funny how easy it is to get a supposedly “protective” person to turn their backs on people they’re supposed to be protecting. It had been a few days ago when I caught her on the roof staring out into the distance.

“A Guardian not keeping up with their charge? How sloppy.” I said, not moving from my hiding place. If this worked out, then she wouldn’t know who any of the fallen were. Lilith spun around, most likely looking for a fight.

“Shut up! Who are you? You don’t know anything about me! About my anger!”

“Ooh? You’re angry? Well I’m angry too.” I purred to her. “And I know more about you than you’ll ever know about me, Miss Lilith Senka. I Find it amusing how someone who poses the power of a calming aura has such uncontrollable rage. Even I never tried to kill my own sister.” She lunged in the direction of my voice.

“I’m afraid we can’t have that, my dear.” I waved a wall of flame between us. “You’re angry, I’m angry, the other Guardians don’t accept you, I do. You’re tired of being the outcast, and the loser. You’re ready to be the winner.” I moved my hand into view, snapping the flame out. “And I hear you’ve got a penchant for fire. So do I.” She stood there, a look of uncertainty on her face.

“I haven’t come here to hurt you, Miss Senka, and I haven’t come here to threaten or trick you. I came here to give you an offer.”

I stepped into view, the long black cloak and hood offering no clues to who I was. I extended my hand to her “Would you like to help me burn the world to the ground?” There was moment of hesitation, she took my hand. When our skin made contact, I disappeared leaving a single black feather in her hand.

After a terribly long lecture on the dangers of sharing an inhaler, I made my way up to the roof of the school. I lit a cigarette with my much beloved silver lighter, and waited for one of the Guardian’s charges to approach me.

In short, Mrs. Pontellier was beginning to realize her position in the universe as a human being, and to recognize her relations as an individual to the world within and about her.
