Archer

Archer walked over to where Hudson was sitting, and wrapped his arm around him. “Hey. The lady wants popsicles and you ate all of them. Take responsibility.” He said jokingly.
“Although I don’t know how much attention you’d be able to pay to the road.” Archer turned and grabbed Brown.

“Brown and I are going to. Oly could probably use a break from us. Hey maybe he’ll even try to shimmy up there with Shaun.” Archer turned over his shoulder and gave the dark haired boy a wink.

Archer, Amber, Brown, and Hudson walked downstairs to beg for car keys. Eventually Archer’s Mom relented. “Thanks Ma.” He said kissing his Mom on the cheek. The group piled in the rented car, Brown calling shotgun and Archer in the driver’s seat.

Archer adjusted the rear-view, glancing at the couple in the back. “No funny business back there you hear? There’s a child in here, and if anyone is getting busy tonight it’ll be me.

“Not a kid, jerk. I’m thirteen!”

Archer ruffled his hair again “Sure ya are, Jr. you know what? When we get to town, I’ll even teach ya how to charm the ladies m’kay?”

The younger boy glared at him. Archer just thought he was so amazing, Brown wished that just once, someone would put his ego into place.

I set up my sleeping bag in the corner of the huge room, and listened to the other girls giggling. I had some big plans for tonight.

Big plans.

"We should sneak out." I said it just loud enough for a few girls closeby to hear. I hoped the boys weren't listening in right now.

"Why?" Anne looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Cause it'll confuse the hell out of the guys when they try to spy on us," I laughed, "and plus, it'll be fun."

"There's some kind of big party going on down the street." Mae smiled at me, then looked around at the other girls, who had now quieted their conversation, "With a bunch of high schoolers. I heard them shooting off fireworks earlier."

"We should totally crash the party," I could already feel the adreneline spiking through my boy. Senior boys made me smile.

"No way," Anne shook her head, looking upset, "What if we get caught?"

I shrugged, "We say the boys told us to go," I waited for her retaliation with a smile.

Eve

Eve had been hiccupping for the last hour. And that was so freaking hilarious to her, that she’s also been laughing for the last hour. This new care free attitude might stem from the three to six bottles of lemonade she’d drunk in the past hour.

Most if not all the other girls had gone over to some party, and her sister was nowhere to be found. ‘Figure’s’ Eve thought to herself as she wandered around the house, ‘That everyone would just up an’ ditch me. I mean what the hell? Now they’re just purposely ditchin’ me. Mind fuzzy and feeling angry, Eve stumbled into the room all the guys were in.

“ ‘ey suckers, if yur lookin’ to spy on somfin’ they’re all across the street, or whatever.” Eve scanned the room looking at each boy in turn. “Pft. Senior high school boys! Ooooh so DREAMY . Dreamy my butt. I’d rather date Professor Crunchy. "

"Tryin’ to be soooo cute an’ rebellious, sneakin’ out or whatever. Psh frakin’, what’s even the point? Date for like, three weeks, ‘fall in love’ and then break up. Teenagers are idiots. You are, an you are, and I am.” Eve swung her arm around, gesturing wildly.

“An’ you know what? I hate all of you. All of you suck. Imma not quiet cuz’ I wanna be all of ya just IGNORE me cuz I’m weird or whatever the ‘ell.” Well you know what? Those dolls got me more on etsy when I was six than your dumb lemonade stands ever did.” Eve slammed back the rest of the liquid in her bottle, and threw herself on Oly’s bed.

“So screw you guyz!” Eve then proceeded to hiccup and cry.

Spoiler
That was alot more fun to write than it should have been.

Sullivan

My eyes widened as I watched Eve. When she crumpled into Oly's bed, crying and speaking incoherently, I headed over to her.

Sliding the lemonade from her hand, I think my jaw literally dropped, "Who the hell gave Eve this!?"

Throwing the bottle across the room, I ignored the shatter and scooped up Eve.

"Wha 're doing?" She mumbled, trying to push me away with no avail.

"It's time to sleep, Eve."

"Shut up." She said, smacking me in my face.

Pushing the door to her room open, I reprimanded, "Eve, be nice."

"You be nice!" She squinted her eyes, and asked, "Why are you so nice? STOP being nice. You're too nice."

Laying her down on her bed, I grabbed one of her dolls and handed it to her. Pulling her blanket over her, I whispered, "Good night Eve. Feel better."

Mae:

The majority of us decided to head to the party, and the guys there seemed automatically interested. These were kids that live here year-round. We're summer kids.

I turned to say, "Everyone try to stick in pairs." but only Opal was still behind me.

"Me and you, Opal." I smiled, "Let's do this!"

Ash

I followed Sammy and the other girls to the party, mostly so I'd have someone to hang out with. The truth was, I wasn't a huge fan of parties. Maya and Becca, my friends in Chicago, were always dragging me to them, and honestly, they weren't as great as people said they were.

I leaned against the side of the house and sipped on a bottle of Gatorade, making periodic scans of the party. Sure, it was probably a little paranoid, but I couldn't help looking around for people I might have to beat up. There had been an incident with Becca and some guy back in Chicago, and ever since then, I'd been extra careful at parties. I'd punched Becca's guy twice and slammed his head into a wall. Put him in the hospital with a concussion. So if one of these guys tried anything funny...

I took another swig of Gatorade and looked around again. There was loud music playing--some pop tune I'd never heard before--and a bunch of the summer house girls were dancing. Most of the other people were high schoolers from around here, primarily juniors and seniors. No one looked too weird, but I was still glad the younger girls had stayed home.

"Hey." Some guy had appeared next to me, with a cup of...something...in his hand. "Not dancing?"

"Nope," I answered shortly.

He must have been expecting a different answer, because he looked pretty confused. "Well..." he started. "Can I get you a drink, or something?"

I shook my Gatorade in front of his face. "What is this?"

"Jeez, I was just trying to be nice..."

"Isn't there someone else you can hit on?"

The guy didn't have time to respond to that. He was still thinking of a comeback when Shaun came sprinting across the lawn. Shaun skidded to a stop in front of me, panting. "Ash!" he gasped. "You've gotta help me! Oh, God--"

"What did you do?" I demanded.

"It's Eve," Shaun continued. "I gave her, like, six bottles of Mike's hard lemonade! She's out of her mind drunk! Sullivan caught her with a bottle, and he chucked it across the room! He's gonna kill me! Wait a minute, where's Mae?"

Sullivan:

"Where's Shaun!" I yelled at the other guys.

Someone answered, "He went to the party down the road."

"I'm gonna kill him!" I yelled, running out the room and down the stairs.

"Sullivan?" Mom asked.

"Not now!" I growled, throwing the front door open and running across the street.

When I got to the house, I walked in and yelled, "Shaun!"

When I got no response, I yelled, "Shaun Sears, get over here!"

People stared at me, but I didn't care. He got her drunk! He gave Eve alcohol!

Mae:

The sound of Sullivan screaming sent me running, Opal and the two boys we were talking to trailing behind me. Sullivan doesn't yell. If he does, something is wrong.

When I got to the front of the house, Sullivan's eye was forming a bruise beneath his eye and Shaun's jaw was swelling.

Sullivan pinned Shaun against the wall and growled, "Shaun, I'm gonna kill you."

A boy, probably the owner of the house, came up behind Sullivan and coaxed, "Come on man, take it outside."

Sullivan's jaw tensed for a moment, just a moment, before he spun around and socked the guy.

Unbelieving, I rushed over to Sullivan, grabbing him by his arm, "Sullivan!" I barked, "Stop it, Sullivan!"

Sullivan pushed me aside, which set off Shaun, and he went back at Sullivan.

The next thing I knew, half of our household was either fighting or trying to pry each other off of each other.

Shaun

My jaw hurt, but it couldn't have been as bad as Sullivan's eye. I hadn't actually been trying to hit him that hard; he had sort of walked into it. Oh well--we'd both have bruises tomorrow, that much was certain.

"Don't touch my sister!" I shouted. I grabbed Sullivan's shirt and threw him against the wall. I pulled back for a punch, but he shoved me backward, almost knocking me over. As I regained my footing, he drew his fist back. I was about to throw up a block, but something in the corner of my eye distracted me.

"Guys, break it up!" Ash stormed inside and went to grab both of us. Sullivan's eyes widened, but he couldn't stop his punch in time, and he clipped Ash in the jaw.

I froze, almost afraid to move. Ash glared at Sullivan for a split second--and then she clocked him right in the temple. He dropped to the ground and just laid there, stunned.

Then Ash turned on me. "You gave Eve alcohol?!" she screeched. "What were you thinking?!"

"I don't know!" I exclaimed. "I wasn't! Crap--"

Behind Ash, Sullivan had staggered to his feet. I turned and sprinted away, weaving through the crowd that had gathered. Sullivan chased after me, running in a haphazard zigzag. I tore across the room, grabbed two bottles from random people, and stopped on the other side. I waited until I had a clear view of Sullivan, and then hurled the first bottle at him. He ducked at the last second, and it shattered on the wall behind him. I waited just an instant, until he was standing up again, and then chucked the second bottle.

What the freaking hell is going on?

I couldn't believe it. Why were my brothers acting so strangely? First it was Archer lying to me and now Shaun freaking got my best friend drunk! Sullivan was angry that he was trying to hit Shaun on his face and they were running across the room. I was just as angry as him. He cannot do this. Opal who was beside me tried to stop me from chasing Shaun but I couldn't stop myself.

I was behind Sullivan trying to catch up with Shaun. He grabbed two bottle from two young men, and hurled the first one toward Sullivan. Thankfully, he ducked it and I did too. But just after a few seconds, I didn't see the second one coming. Sullivan ducked the second one, but I couldn't. It came right threw my face, the glass going through my skin. I felt down in pain, holding my forehead to see the blood running through one side of the face.

And before I could realize it, everything came out blur.

As everyone rushed out of the room, mainly following Sullivan in his rush to get Shaun, Oly remained, dazed. Absent-mindedly, he collected the shards of glass from the bottle. Someone could get seriously hurt on them. It had been very irresponsible of Sullivan to break it, he thought. It was Sullivan, though, though Oly unfairly.
After that everyone had just gone rushing off, Sullivan included. But what about Eve? Oly didn't have much experience of alcohol but she'd seemed seriously upset.
A shard of the glass cut Oly's finger and a thin line of blood trickled down. Cursing, he scooped up the rest and took them to the bin.
He wanted more than anything to go and see how Eve was, but he didn't know what to say. And then there was what she'd said. 'I hate all of you.' Was that true? Did Eve really hate him?
Not really knowing what he was doing, Oly's feet walked to Eve's door. After a moment's hesitation, he knocked, tentatively. There was no answer. He listened and heard her, breath fighting over hiccups and socks.
He knocked louder.
"GO AWAY! Go away, whoever you are! I hate you! I HATE YOU! You're all stupid!" The hysterics got louder.
Oly winced, "Please Eve. It's Oly. Please let me in."
There was no response but her wild howls. Oly didn't know if she couldn't hear over her din or was ignoring him.
Should he go in? He would, he decided. He couldn't leave her like this. Oly fetched a cup of water. That was good if someone's drunk, wasn't it?
He knocked again.
"Eve, it's me. I've got you some water."
"Go AWAY!"
Oly opened the door. Eve was sat on her bed, crying. Awkwardly, Oly sat down next to her and handed her the water.

Hudson:

"Where is everyone?" I muttered to the others, grocery bag in hand.

Opening all the doors, I searched for someone, anyone. Opening Eve's door, I saw Oly and Eve. And Eve was hammered. I wondered if Sullivan knew.

Looking from Eve to Oly, I whispered, "She won't even remember, Oly. Let her sleep. Have you seen Sullivan?"

Rising, Oly followed me out the door grumbling, "Probably killing Shaun at the party across the street. Shaun gave Eve six bottles if Mike's Hard Lemonade."

Suppressing a scowl, I called, "Guys, we're crashing the party crashers. Lola, come."

***

The rest of our house, sans Eve, walked into the house.

"More of them!?" A guy yelled upon seeing us, wringing his hands.

Shaun rushed past me, Sullivan behind him, then Ash and Anne.

The girl with white hair, Opal, came out of nowhere and snatched Shaun by the collar of his shirt, taking him by the wrist and yanking him behind her. Before Sullivan could do anything about it, I grabbed him and slammed him into the ground.

Lola began growling, and I said, "Get your ass back home and settle it civily with Shaun before even more people find out about what the crash left me with."

I let Sullivan up, and Opal let go of Shaun. Sullivan and Shaun has a five second stare down. Shaun was the first to break a smile. Sullivan chuckled, and clapped Shaun on the back. And just like that, all was forgiven.

"I'll never understand how guys do that." Mae said.

Smiling, I replied, "Let's go home."

Is this too early? Sorry if it is.

Anne

Ow. Ouch! Owww! IT HURTS SO FREAKING BAD. Oh, Shaun! I'm going to kill you. Seriously.

For a few minutes, I blanked out and I didn't know what happened. I woke up to Sullivan's chuckling. I had my hand on my forehead, holding on to a handle of the door to get some balance. I felt down again. I just couldn't get up. Oh, for God's sake! Am I so weak?

"Uh... Hello! Dead girl on the floor!" a guy said, I didn't know, to grab the attention.

"Yo. Shut up. I can get my pace, ya' know." I said. Gosh, I didn't need help. No one really cared even if I was on the floor with blood running down so much.

Shaun, Opal, Sullivan, Hudson, Opal, Ash, Amber, Mae and others turned to me. Shaun looked horrified to what he had done. He looked sorry but I wasn't going to forgive him to what he did to me AND Eve. I mean, can't he see at who he's aiming after being so tall?!

Tears rolled down my eyes because I couldn't bear the pain and got up as soon as possible. I ran into the bathroom, shutting the door behind. I washed the blood off. I could see the wound getting revealed a little. I had glass pieces all over me. I was upset. I know Shaun did it to have some fun but he didn't have to kill me for that! The blood wouldn't stop rolling down and I kept washing it off. Mae, Opal and Amber came in to check how I was doing.

"Anne, are you okay?" Mae came in, hugging me from the back but I wriggled off.

"Honey, I know you're upset. Shaun didn't mean it, you know." Opal said, coming next to me and smiling. She files through my hair and finds lots more of those glass pieces. She looks stunned.

"Gosh, that must have hurt." Amber says, standing next to Mae.

Why? Why is it that people are surrounding me and pampering me? Why couldn't they do this before where I was helpless and I had been hit? And now, they just stare and ask me lots more questions when I don't even how so much stamina to answer all of them.

Looking annoyed, I turned to them, sighing. "Shaun never commits mistakes unless he's being stupid or he's careless. Okay, I'll forgive him but what will mom say?" I said, getting out of the washroom followed by the three behind me.

"I'll tell her. Its my mistake." Shaun said, coming up to me.

"Yeah, and you get grounded for that then. Look, if they get to know that we came here at this time of the night, they'll probably kill us. So, none of you'll are going to say a single word." I said, eyeing at Shaun.

"Anne, just stop being so upset." Shaun said.

"I'm not upset! Its the fact that you didn't even turn to look that I had fallen on the ground and--" Before I complete my sentence, I felt dizzy again.

Like never before, I felt weak and that I wasn't that strong girl I used to be. I grabbed on to Opal's sleeve and she caught me.
"Anne? Anne are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm... Fine, I just--" Then, again, I had the same feeling I had felt I was hit by the bottle. When everything faded out and I couldn't hear anything nor see anything.
I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.

Eve

Eve wasn’t the type of person to curse on a normal basis. This morning however, she could make an exception to that rule.

Eve wasn’t stupid either; she knew what Shaun had been trying to do when her head started feeling fuzzy. She just didn’t care; maybe the alcohol would allow her to release some of her frustration.

Although, Eve had a feeling she might have said too much. Eve remembered Sullivan, but she would really prefer not to ask him what she had said. Her head throbbed, and turned to see a little cup of water on her bedside table. Oly.

Eve grabbed her bag, rummaging around for some pain medication, and began getting ready for the day. She tiptoed out of her room, hoping not to bring any attention to herself.

‘What if I said something dumb? Of course I said something dumb…but I was pretty upset…what if I hurt someone’s feelings? Well nobody here actually likes me anyway so it doesn’t even matter. But I thought maybe Anne or Oly were at least willing to talk to me. I think I might have hit Sullivan too.’

If Eve didn’t already feel bad, she felt bad now. She had always had a bad habit of talking herself down until she was even more dejected.

When she reached Oly and Sullivan’s room, she couldn’t help being a little scared. ‘What if they’re both mad at me? If I managed to make Sullivan angry then I really screwed up. What if he’s in there? I don’t think I can talk to anyone or even think about it til’ I know what I said.’ While Eve was in mental turmoil, the door creaked open revealing a surprised Oly.

Eve jumped. “Um… is Sullivan in there?” If Eve didn’t know better, she could have sworn Oly scowled.

“No. He’s already downstairs with everyone else.” Oly said sounding a bit upset himself.

“Oh that’s good.” Not really thinking Eve invited herself in taking a seat on Oly’s unmade bed. Cute. “So…did I… did I say anything…weird last night?” Oly looked away from the small girl, focusing on the floor instead.

“You said you hated everyone.” Eve stared at him for a second. He was upset at the thought Eve might not like being around him. She giggled despite the throbbing in her temple.

“You’re adorable.” Oly flushed as Eve got up to give him a hug. “I don’t hate you. I don’t hate anyone really, I was just… upset. If that’s all I said though, then I guess it wasn’t too bad.” Eve began to walk out towards the dining room. She turned around “Coming?” Eve said offering her hand to the dark haired boy.

Hey all, Liv here. Fiction won't let me log out or her account soooo.....it's me.

Sullivan

We told our moms that we went early morning surfing. That me and Shaun collided, taking down Ash with us. That Anne wiped out and landed on the shell fragments. Explaining our scratches and bruises. I don't think they bought it, but they at least pretended to.

I was forming a nice bruise beneath my eye, and Shaun's jaw formed some nice ones as well.

I'd already apologized about a million times to everyone.

Glancing up, I saw Opal laughing at something Archer said, Hudson talking to Amber, his crooked smile in place, and everyone just hanging out and having a good time.

Smiling, I opened the freezer to look for popsicles and saw that Hudson ate all the purple ones already. From behind me, Hudson let out a booming laugh due to my discovery.

Turning back around, I saw Eve. Holding Oly's hand.

***

Eve and I stood out on the porch.

"You hit me. Said I was too nice and I needed to stop. You said you hate everyone." Looking up from my hands I continued, "Except Oly apparently."

Hesitantly, she asked, "Are you okay?"

Looking up at her, I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, "I hit Shaun. I accidentally hit my own sister. Anne was bleeding like crazy. Some of the others are freaked. All because of me. I did it for you. And now..." I searched her eyes and continued, "Now I don't even know if I should have."

Her eyebrows knitting together, she asked, "What do you mean?"

"I mean i like you!" I said, keeping myself from screaming, "And you don't seem to care or notice."
