Well Hello there, i am quite intimidated!

Hello! My name is Derick. I don't have a set nickname but if anyone wants to make one ill be happy to use it. I currently an a freshman in High School. I have not written any "true" work but that's why i am here; to get help with my work and to start my future novel. I haven't really set a set title for my novel but i am leaning towards Always Young and Lost. If you want to help i need all the help i can get. I am also an Art student. I love to draw and do all my own illustrations, well will be. I have been wanting to write a book since 2nd grade but never was able to finish any of the stories i started. i hope to make new friendships and gain new knowledge here at the YWS.

Hey there, Derick! You've certainly come to the right place; YWS is a great site for both writers and artists (I myself in dabble in both, and the folks around here are always eager to help).

And there's no need to be intimidated, though I do know the feeling. YWSers are generally pretty friendly, and the site's pretty user-friendly once you get to know it--I should mention, also, that we're undergoing sort of a makeover, so keep an eye out for some new features!

If you need any help or have any questions, feel free to ask. The moderators (users with green names) are our official people-in-charge, but most people are willing to help.

May I ask what your novel is about? That's an awesome title, by the way.

What kind of art do you like? Are you more of a traditional person or have you tried your hand at digital work? I find myself more of a digital person but I like pencil as a medium if I do anything outside my computer screen.

You've come to the right place, looking for a place to grow as a writer, take it from someone who joined with NO experience and horrible writing skills, this place ROCKS. Anyway. The site is currently being remodeled, so there are a bunch of features to come! It's so easy to make friends here, it's not even funny. Just remember to Review, review review! By reviewing you gain points so you can post your work, and you gain recognition. Usually, you review someone, they'll review you back. Which brings me too the, if someone reviews you--it's always polite to return it with a review or at least a thank you!
