I have never, in my entire life, finished an entire novel. I've called myself a writer for two years, but I've never finished a novel. I've never gotten past three chapters before I give up. This makes me feel bad and very very lazy.
Have you ever finished one? I hope so for your sake. Are you trying to complete one by the end of this year? No, not in a single month. In a year. I am, I tried the whole "novel-in-a-month" thing, and it just does not work for me. I know it does for other people, but I don't like it. Not one bit.
You may feel differently about novels in a month. But if that's not for you, we should do a support group. That's right, you, me, your pals, working together to keep motivated and finish a novel before New Years.
We should share tips, do "write ins", have word wars, whatever it takes. By the end of the year, all of us will have finished the first draft of a novel. We will feel good and celebrate. Then we'll give figurative high fives and go out for figurative hot fudge sundaes. And yes, there will be figurative confetti.
You can share your tips and ideas using the "People" tab, and placing #FinishThis at the end of your post, or by just replying below! You can find other peoples tips and ideas and support by clicking the blue hashtag thingy. Share your blog, share excerpts from your story, and watch out for Word Wars! Don't forget to update us on your word count too!
So anyway! You, me, our novels, right here, right now. We will motivate each other, share tips, review chapters, and bust our assets until we have a completed novel. Share your tips, support your friends, and no matter what, Finish This!
