The Host *Accepting*

An alien raced, called Souls, has taken over Earth. They bring peace with them wherever they go. The Soul is a tiny silver body with over a thousand hairlike tentacles. When being implanted into a human, a Healer will make a three inch incision on the back of the human's neck and slide the body inside. Once inside of the human--now known as a host--the Soul will wrap its tentacles around the brain and parts of the spinal chord, thus meaning the Soul has complete control of the body and brain. The only difference between a Host and a human is this: the eyes. When a light it shone into the eyes, it reflects off of the Soul's silver body, leaving the pupils silver rather than black.

Souls travel through space, from planet to planet, living a life term in each host it chooses. When traveling through space, the Soul is placed in a hibernation tank--it takes hundreds of years to travel from one planet to another depending on how far apart they are. Many Souls choose to live more than one lifetime on a certain planet and may settle down to live several life terms in one place. Other Souls can't settle down the way most can and have been to most of the planets they have discovered.

It is rare to have a Soul from the Origin--the planet from which all Souls originate. Many of them choose to give themselves up to be mothers or are--rarely--killed off by a certain race, such as the humans.

Souls each have a job, whether it's healing those who have been injured, implanting new Souls into their Hosts, or seeking out the occasional threat.

Healers- A healer is like a doctor. They're job differs from insertions to healing new Hosts to healing cuts and such. Every Healer has a set of medicines that are harmless and simple: Fever--terminates fevers--Awake--when inhaled, it keeps you from feeling tired--Smooth--terminates scars--Heal--heals the deepest of cuts--Clean--cleans a cut or infected wound.
Comforters- A Comforter is like a therapist to the Souls. A Soul that has been recently placed inside an older Host will often seek a Comforter for suggestions on how to adjust to the new emotions and sensory overload.
Storytellers- These are what they seem to be. They've often visited several planets and have several good stories to share. Souls will gather around a Storyteller to hear what they have to say, whether they've experienced the same thing or not.
Seekers- A Seeker is basically a peacekeeper or a police. These are the only Souls who carry weapons such as guns and knives. They don't hurt others intentionally. Seekers find humans and bring them back to Healers for insertion. They'll go through anything to track down the humans and bring them back.

The Caves:
There are very few humans remaining on Earth and the ones who are alive are hidden in caves in the desert. To everyone's surprise, the caves are actually a very livable place. An old human man named Jeb discovered them and has dug out a few holes for additional space. He claims them as his caves. They can be found in the Arizona Desert and were once a massive lava bed. The caves have dark, purpley brown walls and ceilings and after staying there for a while, you'll find your clothes are covered with the purple dust.
Accommodations:
Since the caves are riddled with hundreds of tunnels and holes, there are different sections of the caves. The north tunnels are the hospital wing, the east tunnels are the storage tunnels--also located near the entrance--the west tunnels are sleeping quarters, and the south tunnels house the "bathroom" and "game room". The bathroom consists of two rivers: a small, cool one and a larger, hotter one. The steam off of the hot river allows for privacy. There is a smaller cave just inside the "bathroom" where the smaller river flows--this is the bathing area. Just beyond that is rise in the floor and then a drop off where the hot river flows deeper underground--this is known at "the toilet".
If you want to take a bath, you better get used to making cactus soap. Many complain about the sting, but after a while you get used to it. You can wash your clothes with it as well as your hair.
Clothes are either second hand from either growing out of them or from someone dying. If someone is to be burred or if anything is to be cooked in the oven, it's to be done at night.
Chores:
To be able to live under Jeb's roof, you must help keep the place running. That means plowing the fields, washing the dishes, baking bread, putting together raids, washing clothes, etc. Get used to doing work because it's how you'll be able to survive.

Humans-to survive you must stay away from the Seekers. This means blending in and not getting caught. If you think you're going to get caught, kill yourself. Some of you won't make it, some of you will die. Will you choose your fate or will you give yourself up to the Souls?
Souls-to survive, you cower away from the humans or contact authorities. Seekers will take down a human, but won't hurt them too bad. Souls have lost too many Hosts due to suicides.
