On a different writing site I frequent often ( figment ), you have the option of adding a book cover to your stories, and I've gotten into making my own covers, and making them for others, as well. So I was hoping I could get some thoughts on them, mayhaps.
Gonna take a look at your book covers! I love making book covers too
1 - I think this is my least favourite of the bunch. As soon as I saw it I just felt it was a little too over crowded. You just have so many elements going on that it confuses the eye and it feels all cramped together. I'm a sucker for simplicity so this isn't really working for me. Maybe it would be good to just have the faces and perhaps make them so they are the same level and probably reduce the size of the font for the author's name and then I think it could work much better. But I like the concept behind the design!
2 - This one is pretty cool. I like the background and I like the way you've configured the text and laid it out. I just have one problem. The palette is very limited. You have this kind of brown beige background and then brown beige font. It just means that everything kind of sinks in together and I'd like the font to pop a little more. Plus also...maybe the text is a little too big and kind of swallows up the picture?
3 - I don't have much to say about this one. I think the picture and the font are working really well together here and the way you have placed them are appealing to the eye and I also like the colour scheme. If I was being nit picky? I'd shift the author's name down a touch so that it wasn't crowding the gun.
4 - This is my faaaavourite! Love love love this one. I love the angle of the image and I love how the person is overlapping the font and it just gives you a real sense of movement and of wanting to know what this book is about. Good job!
Keep it up! You obviously have a bit of an eye for this.

1. I love the title and the girl looks brilliant, the eyes, the face, everything about her is perfect. I'm not quite as fond of the male model though, there's something I don't quite like about his expression and I'm wondering if two models is perhaps making your cover a little too noisy and you should just stick with the one? Also, not sure about the swirly thing in the centre. It's too indistinct too be very interesting and too centred. It draws a lot of attentiion to itself but is boring so... yeah, not sure what to suggest about that. The author square at the bottom is lovely.
2. I like this one but it's perhaps a touch too plain. You've got a great background going on and really cool choice of fonts but after a few seconds of looking at it, it leaves the viewer wondering, is that all?
3. This one looks a little too much like those cheap paperbacks you pick up while you're hanging around th airport because you're bored and desperate for something to read. There's not really much to catch the eye or say 'wow, I bet this would be an awesome book'.
4. Pretty cool. I'd maybe say there's a bit too much blue, it might have been good to have a slightl different colour for the model's clothes as then it wouldn't blend into the background quite so much but I love the angle and the 'speed' effects on this one.
