Eagle Crest Hallows [2]

Rayah

I nod, "That's why you guys don't look alike!" I chuckle, "Is that all?"

Spoiler

Thinking about a twist here... Possible entrance of Alyx. Something about the soul being divided between worlds and one of them making it out when the other didn't... Not sure yet.

Jace

I swallow and close my eyes.

"I just...I was there when he died, saw it happened. That's my only memory of home." I say.

Spoiler

Okay.

Rayah

I nod and pull him into a kiss. "It's alright."

Jace

She kisses me and I kiss back halfheartedly, caught up on the dream. Indigo trots in then and jumps up on the bed, nudging one of my hands with his snout.

Rayah

"Just get your mind off it," I tell him mid-kiss. I glance at Indigo and let out a chuckle.

Jace

"Ray," I pull back, close to tears as I stand, "I can't. I can't do that right now. Not after what happened today."

I swallow and look at Indigo.

Feed me, he grunts.

"I-I'll be back, have to feed Indigo," I say, heading out of the room.

Indigo trots behind me, shifting human once we're downstairs.

Don't dwell on him. He doesn't want that, he says.

I freeze, turning around to him.

You don't know him. You can't -

I know who I am.

Rayah

I sigh as he walks out and Zoey trots in, jumping on my lap.
I smiled and pet her, thinking.

Jace

I study him before shaking my head and turning away. Opening the fridge, I flash a smile.

You're a real *ss, Indi. Saying something like that...

I shake my head and take out the pack of lunchmeat. He catches it when I toss it to him and looks at me with sad eyes.

I would have thought you wanted your brother back, he tilts his head to the side, B-but you can't even see him. You don't see it?

I brush past him, my doubts and curiosity erasing the memory and taking its place. He stops me before I reach the stairs, his fingers wrapping around my wrist. The scene shifts before everything goes black.

Fine then. I'll show you...

Rayah

Indigo and Jace somehow dissapear and I swallow. Zoey looks up at me-

Where'd they go?

Jace

I wake, in the middle of the memory. Jumping up, I spin around, desperate to get out of here. Indigo sets a hand on my shoulder and hushes me.

"It's over," He whispers out loud.

I notice the ship is gone and that Alyx body is waking.

"W-wha...How?" I almost rush to him.

Indigo holds me back, making me watch. Alyx stands, his dark hair the same color as Indigo's now. He shakes his head and feels his wound, stumbling backwards in weakness. The figure disappears, in its place a wolf.

You see? Alyx might have died here, but Indigo rose. I rose.

Rayah

I swallow again, wanting Jace back. "I don't know, Zo. I don't." I said, sighing.

Jace

I look back at Indigo, the scene shifting again, and swallow.

"How...? You were dead when I - "

You were so young. You couldn't possibly have known. Nic... He saw you and assumed the worst. I asked him to do what he did for me. I knew what was coming.

My head splits in two as we arrive back at the house. He lets go of me and comes around front, tilting his head to the side again.

I tried to tell you a while ago, but were so vulnerable and I couldn't remember how to shift human, he says.

I nod, holding my head in my hands, and try to compose myself.

"And why did you wait until now?" I ask.

He shrugs, smirking.

Rayah

I see them again and Zoey shifts, walking out. "God you guys are--" I run out before she could finish her sentence and cover her mouth. "Uh yeah sorry about her..." I try to bring her out. She whimpers and I shale my head. "Bad girl!"

Jace

I send Rayah a questioning look, Indigo shifting and trailing after them. He growls and waits for Zoey to be released, playful.

Rayah

I throw Zoey in a closet and lock it, sighing. Motioning Indigo to go back to Jace, "I think he has some questions."
Zoey tries getting out. "Let me out!" She screams, punching it.
I shake my head, "No!" I stood infront of it.
