Ava

Ree let's go of my hand and the crowd pushes me away from the rest of the group. All around me, people are yelling and it is starting a commotion. I back away slowly, trying to get away. All of a sudden a hand locks over my mouth and pulls me from behind. I try to fight my way out of their grip, but there hands are strong. I bite their finger and they pull their hand back and I fall to th ground.

I stand up quickly and lock my eyes on them, getting a strong grip on their mind. "Who are you and what were you going to do to me?" I demand an answer.

"I am one of the people from Earth. Name's Damon. I way taking you back to the house."

I loose the grip on his mind. "How do I know you are really from Earth?" I ask.

"Because I know everything about the choose. Your Ava, the mind reader. You can can control thier minds, like you did to me. I know that you had to loose most of your Memory have this power. Oh and I have a dog on Earth. If you have not noticed, their no dogs here. " he says trying to be funny.

"Not good enough. These people said they were from Earth and that was a total lie." I say.

"The man with the mustache has the power to scan your knowledge and know what you know. Sort of like a mind reader, but not entirely. He knew that you were from earth by you thoughts."

"Well the choose are in trouble and we have to save them." I say.

"Do not worry, your friends are going to be fine. Send a message to one of them and reassure them that help is on the way." He says

Right away, I send a message to Ree. "Ree we are coming for you. Do not worry. Help is on the way." I say.

I turn back to Damon. "Why did we get so little time to learn to use our powers?" I ask.

"Well some train was going to be here, but them you guys fell into the wrong hands and did not get the opportunity." He say. He takes me back to the house and gets everyone ready. "We need to get the choose everyone. No time for mistakes." He says.

Yeah, I'm waiting for Dharius too, seeing as I'm a cute fluffy animal in a crate.
When you asked me what Was wrong I wanted for dinner, I said "Nothing". But as I turned away I whispered, "Everything."

I'M SOOOOOOOOO SORRY!!!

Dharius

The Arkylians' response arrives almost instantly. The man with the moustache lunges for me with an incredible strength. I push him back and he kicks my shin, causing me to wince. This dude is tough.

"The hell do you want with us?" I ask screaming.

"Just some help, don't worry," replies the woman. Then her eyes roll upward and her skin starts turning shiny blue.

Suddenly, a turquoise thunderbolt comes out of her hand, and I barely avoid it.

"So you were planning this since the beginning?" I ask.

"Hah! It's funny how stupid you are!" And she shoots me another thunderbolt. I fall on my back three meters away, listening to the woman's evil laugh.

"You b****," I moan. I try to stay still, hoping for my body to heal itself. It still works, right?

"Oh! We got a mean boy here," says the lady. Her voice just makes me hate her. Then she prepares another thunderbolt, which I dodge. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. Or should I mean, we? Hundell!".

One of the men comes at me with an incredible speed and spits a needle that hits me on the neck. I try to fight, but the pain caused by the woman's lighting immobilizes me.

And then I see Ava entering the room. Hell, no! The words won't come out of my mouth due to the man's poison-thing. I wait desperately for my body to heal, but there's that damn rule again, forcing me to stay idle. I want to help Ava, but I can't. Yes, I know my mission is not saving a beautiful girl but... the hell with that. I can accomplish my goal later.

When I try to get on my feet, my neck starts to ache massively and I black out.

Ree

I couldn't see her. Everyone was running around, searching, screaming, pulling out what appeared to be cell phones, or standing there still absorbing what had just happened. Ava was nowhere to be found.

About to panic, I tried to climb a nearby tree, but my shoulder protested. I craned my head awkwardly to look at it - it didn't seem like anything was broken, but I decided not to try to move it too much, just in case.

Ree, came Ava's voice. I jumped, turning to figure out where she was before I realized that I was only hearing it in my head. We are coming for you. Do not worry - help is on the way.

With that, her voice left my head. I breathed - she was alright. I hadn't known she could communicate like that, but clearly it was her - and she was safe. At least... I assumed she was safe. And I wasn't even sure if I was safe.

Looking on the ground, I saw something glimmering. It was the sphere of glass from that mirror - it had fallen from my backpack. I picked it up, watching the dappled sunlight dance along its curved surface. This was from Earth. Home. Where I'd always known where to turn, where I'd had a family to keep me, a government that would protect me, where I'd had some clue what was going on. Now all that was left of my life was here, in my hands, this little sphere.

I wanted to go home. Instead, I turned and started towards the mansion. It wasn't even close to being home, but it was the closest thing to one. Ava would probably meet me there, too.

As I got there, though, I heard shouting. What was going on? I increased my pace from a jog to a run, stopping as I reached the door. Peeking in, I saw a door hanging ajar between two of the staircases. It occurred to me that I'd never seen that door before - it also occurred to me that the shouts were coming from that room.

"Alright, we can do this without a struggle or with one, however you choose it." A female voice sounded. The hair on the back of my neck rose at the cruel superiority in the voice.

Suddenly a hand clamped over my mouth and I felt myself pulled to the far side of a staircase. I struggled, especially as a cry came from the doorway.

"Sssh," my captor hissed. "I'm on your side! Don't make a sound!" I didn't recognize the voice, so I continued trying to wriggle free. "You're from Earth," he said, and I froze for a moment. "So am I. Just stop struggling."

I did, reluctantly, and he released me. I turned to see a man standing before me. "We have to get out of here," he told me. "The people who brought you here aren't actually with you - they're going to turn you all in."

"Where's Ava?" I asked. He paused uncertainly, and I shoved him aside, running for the door, already knowing the answer to my question.

I found her struggling. I didn't have time to see if she was winning or losing her fight; all I knew was that I had to save her.

"Ava!" The scream of fury tore out of my throat, and almost without thinking, I hurled my glass orb at the nearest figure. It hit a man, who stumbled back; focusing all my energy into it, I slammed the sphere into his skull again; he slumped to the ground.

Something flew into me, and I felt myself slamming into the ground. It only occurred to me later that it was the very man who had had dinner and breakfast with us and led us to the mansion that was attacking me; right then, I was only concerned with breaking loose. I grabbed his wrist before he could punch me; he just pulled it free and grabbed my neck, squeezing tight. I felt my throat seem to collapse under his grip; I tried to breathe, but air wouldn't come into my mouth.

I flailed, nailing him in the gut with both knees, and he grunted. That was all. I continued fighting, but to no avail. His grip was like iron - there was no freeing myself. My muscles started to feel hot; my blood was pounding, but there wasn't any oxygen for it to carry. This is it. This is how I die.

Suddenly I heard Ava's voice, and then blue sparks suddenly to life around the man - they spread to me, and I felt my muscles fail. My attacker's mustache and hair flared up in a way that would have been funny in another situation, and he fell, his grip disappearing. I managed to roll over, coughing weakly.

"You little swine!" cried the woman's voice, suddenly sounding outraged, and I heard Ava shouting something else. The woman stood there, in some sort of mental struggle with herself, looking to be halfway into some sort of stupor.

The man with the mustache was starting to move. I summoned my sphere - it hovered over my head, sharpening into a sort of glass blade. "Don't even think about it," I croaked to the attacker, pointing the weapon towards him.

Suddenly there was the sound of running footsteps, and a pot smashed into the man's head. His eyes rolled up and back, and he fell still. Moving my eyes upward, I saw the supposed human who had tried to whisk me to safety.

That left the woman. I turned my gaze to her and found her lying on the ground, a lump forming on her head. Ava, holding a bat - I seemed to remember the first guy I'd gone after having one - was opening a cage, which held a wide-eyed, furry Stanley. I saw Arcadia crumpled up in another one, and Dharius was lying on the ground, apparently unconscious. My stomach turned over as I saw a needle impaled in his neck.

I heard more footsteps, but I couldn't move my head far enough to see who was coming in. Hopefully they were friends...

I heard the outbreak and looked at the other spies who seemed to of heard the commotion as well.

"I'll go," Stanley suggested. I shook my head after morphing back to human form.

"I'm going. I'm a lot more quicker, plus, wolves are more known," I say. Stanley and the others nodded and I re-morphed into my wolf form and ran. As I ran in the trees, a shadow passed by. I morphed into human and looked around.

"Come out whoever you are!" I shout. There was a snicker before someone hit me in the back of my neck and I fell to the ground unconscious. The last thing I saw, or rather felt, was being dragged through the trees.

. Ava

I hit them with all my strength and they fall to the ground. I run over to Dharius and pull the needles out of his neck. Soon after I go and pull it out of Stanley's and Arcadia's neck also, know that it was bothering Ree. I did not even have to see his face to know it was a bother. After that, I run over to him and wrap my arms around him. “I was so worried.” I say. “Are you okay?”

“I am fine, are you?” He asks bringing me closer.

“Just fine now that it is over.” I say. “Well the almost getting killed part anyway.”

Dharius

My eyes open slowly. The first thing I see, with a heartache, is Ree holding Ava in her arms, talking to her softly. Oh, come on Dharius. I get up free of any pain thanks to the serum in my blood and rub my eyes. Then I see something weirder than the destroyed room we're in.

On the floor, the three Arkylians who attack us lie unconscious. I kneel down next to a body and begin registering it. There's nothing strange until I find a card in the woman's pocket. An ID? On the ID, there's the picture of a blonde man... Seems that she stole it. And that means there were really people from Earth here in Arkyle. I think they killed them... or maybe.... Suddenly, I hear many footsteps.

On the entrance to the mansion, a group of men and women -they're like ten- observe us, and then the Arkylians' bodies on the floor. One of them laughs and then says loudly: "Well, that was fast. These guys are good. Guess we'll need more of us to catch them."

Dammit! I run towards the man, preparing to hit him. Before I even touch him, the Arkylian waves his hand and there's a blinding light that makes me fall to the ground, screaming in pain. My eyes feel like they're burning... I haven't felt this kind of pain before. It is massive. And then something damp hits me on my forehead, causing everything -including the heavy light- to fade out.

Oh my taco, I'm sorry I've been so derpy lately! Trying unsuccessfully to figure things out... I don't have any great ideas for Stanley to do, but I shall see...

Par/Stanley

When you have ears made to detect the heartbeat of a mouse, yells and curse words quickly become unbearable. I turn away from the action, flattening my ears as if that would help. I watched Arcadia, waiting for her to wake up.

And a moment later, she did! The cat raised her head, looking sick.

"Arcadia!" I yelp, trying to reach her through the crate. I can't quite make it.

"Stanley?" She looks around, confused. "What happened?"

"A lot." I don't feel like explaining. As a wimpy fox, I'm scared and helpless. I want to curl up somewhere dark and cool.

The action behind me has stopped, and I crane my head over my shoulder to see what's going on. Holy smokes! Ava is hovering over me, and I whip around in surprise, banging against the metal bars of the crate.

"It's okay, Stanley," she mutters, releasing me.

It's Par.

I slink out and wait as Ava lets Miss Arcadia free. As soon as her paws hit the ground, I rush over to her, sniffing her shoulder obnoxiously- why am I doing that? I whimper slightly; sometimes, Par does whatever dumb fox thing he wants and I can't do anything about it.

Suddenly, like 10 people - Arkylians, by the scent of it - pour in. I don't hear what they say, but two seconds later Dharius hits the floor with a screech and passes out. A man grabs Ree with one meaty hand and Ava with another, while a woman who looks like an Olympian weight lifter drags Dharius.

Blame it on Par's chicken-fox brain. Blame it on a flash of temporary insanity. Either way the next thing I do is cowardly. Heart pounding, I push Arcadia ahead of me and we slip out, right under the Arkylians' legs.

"What about the others?" Arcadia gasps, ready to turn around.

"No!" I snarl, stepping in front of her. "We can't do much by getting caught ourselves. We're spies: our only goal is sneaking around and finding ways to get out of fixes."

"But..." She looks past me, over my shoulder. I feel a surge of panic- I've already seen Arcadia get hurt enough times; I just want her to be safe for five minutes. A man turns and looks out the door, obviously searching for us.

"Let's go!" I yelp. The instinct to run overtakes us both, and we get the heck out of there.

Ree

Ava ran over, and I forgot the approaching people for a moment. "I was so worried," she said, wrapping her arms around me as I tried to sit up. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," I answered automatically, even though I was still half-paralyzed, my heart was pounding in my chest, and my brain was in overdrive. "Are you?"

"Just fine, now that it is over," she responded. "Well, the almost getting killed part anyway."

But as it turned out, she was wrong. Only seconds after she said it, a new voice sneered from behind me. "Aw, isn't that cute?"

I turned as the rest of the people arrived and tried to swallow the lump that formed in my throat. Nearly a dozen Arkylians stood before us, glaring contemptuously at us and the mess we'd made defending ourselves. "Well, that was fast," another Arkylian said. "These guys are good. Guess we'll need more of us to catch them."

We're doomed, I thought bleakly.

Then there was a roar from behind me, and Dharius came charging out, leaping over me and running at the attackers. For just a moment, I admired his bravery - there was no way we were going to win this.

The man who had spoken dismissively waved a hand, and Dharius collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut, screaming. The sound made the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up - I'd never heard a sound like that come from a human being. And something that could make Dharius do that?... I decided that maybe cooperating might be the best choice.

A lady finally kicked him in the head, and his body relaxed limply as he fell unconscious. I tried again to swallow the lump in my throat, staring at his still form and then looking up at the attackers. Ava was still there, half-crouched by me.

"You look smart," a man said to me. "You're not going to try any heroics, are you, now?"

I just stared mutely. I was pretty sure he could hear the pounding of my heart and take that for an answer. The man stepped forward and grabbed my arm with a meaty hand that gripped like iron, pulling me up. I staggered to my feet, still weak from the blue lightning, wanting with everything in me to run but too afraid to try anything.

Ava started to open her mouth, but suddenly I felt something touch my neck and a calm voice saying, "One word and he's done." My eyes went wide as I realized that the thing against my neck was a knife. Ava closed her mouth.

Nodding, the man grabbed Ava with his other hand. I saw her mouth moving, but the words didn't reach my ears over the sound of my heart thudding in my ears. Rage rose weakly at the sight of her being manhandled, but it was overtaken by the fear again and I just watched helplessly.

I felt myself being pulled, and I numbly followed, staggering and nearly falling once. That lightning had saved my life, but now I wished it had never struck me and that man.

As we started to leave, the numb fear turned into desperate panic and I started looking around, frantically searching for some sign of hope. Movement caught my eyes - I saw a silver fox and a cat running away to safety. Then, from inside the house, I saw the form of a man - Damon. A small sort of hope surged in me or a moment. We had three people still free. Maybe there was some way...

"What are you looking at?" a gruff voice asked. I started, turned to see a captor glaring at me suspiciously.

"N-nothing," I stammered, suddenly returning to my fear. I couldn't get Damon caught. "I just..."

"Oh, just shut up," growled someone else, and I went on in uneasy silence. They didn't seem worried - I was just a kid looking back, as far as they were concerned.

A woman came up to us, holding something I couldn't see in her hand. "Alright, get a good look," she said. "This is the last you're going to see of your little hideout." Then she pulled out a needle.

I jerked back against my captor, panicking again at the sight of the dreaded object. What was in that needle? Someone hit me, trying to get me to hold still, and I thought I heard Ava saying something, but I jerked back harder. The lady stabbed, and there was a sharp jolt of pain in my arm, and then everything started to fade away. The last thing I saw was what looked like some sort of vehicle, and then black clouded everything out.
