The year is nineteen hundred and fifty one. Your character is one of many eminent public figures invited to the opening of the Great Exhibition, which incidentally is where our story begins. You are milling around and taking in the exhibits, but remember, you are the leading expert, or one of, in whatever field you choose to specialise in.

A character profile looks like this:

Name: Harry Augustus Jenkins
Occupation: Naval Engineer
Age: 24
Description: Harry is tall and well-built, as he served for a number of years in a military post, in the Royal Navy. He left two years ago, however, when asked to assist on a voyage to previously unmapped parts of South America, which he undertook with gusto. He returned to London only six months ago, a changed man. Nobody save his crew mates know what happened in the rainforests to change him so, and they aren't telling. When he left he was flambuoyant, a dandy who lived for the moment, his motto always 'Vive Vita'. But now, he is thoughtful, quiet and fairly solitary, although he still enjoys good company and tries to be good company in return. He was offered a VC for his services to the Royal Navy, but declined when he discovered that nobody else from his shipwrecked crew had been made the same offer. He has unruly chestnut hair, and sharp blue eyes, and he always wears his characteristic silk cravat, which marks him out as a gentleman, though he himself bears no class prejudices.
"What we're trying to do is to write cricket bats, so that when we throw up an idea and give it a little knock, it might...travel."

Umm, plot, anywhere?
vulgus vult decipi, ergo decipiatur

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.
