Now presenting a tale of magic, deception, and Amish people. The story takes place in the modern times. Wizards have existed for many years, but many do not know of their existence. This is because the truth about wizards has been kept under-wraps by the government for a very long time.
Magic can be a very dangerous thing, as wizards have been known to terrorize and murder non-magical people. So in the 1800s, the U.S government set up an agency to monitor magical humans and such. At first, they were all executed on site. But as time went on, the wizards were moved to camps such as Ellis Island. Then, a certain book about wizards debuted in the mid-90s.
It depicted wizards as a kind of people who had no knowledge of electricity, math, science, technology, or even dentistry or the human body. The agency decided that placing actual wizards within this environment would be an excellent way to monitor them.
So they began purchasing private islands and built colonies and buildings which mimicked the settings within said books. They then struck a deal with certain wizards: If they brainwashed their comrades into thinking that they've lived in these primitive colonies all their life, they would get to go free.
Flash forward 15-20 years. Its the year 201X, and more and more wizards have either been discovered within urban areas, or been caught wandering from their designated colonies. Wizards that are considered a threat to any civilians are killed on sight, and rumors of a planned revolution against non-magical humans are beginning to spread.
Everything up to this point is up to your character. There is no good or evil, however there are alignments. They are as follows:
Agency Members
Spoiler
The agency is dedicated to keeping the magic world secret and keeping all non-magic users safe. While wizards are accepted into the agency, they are often kept under close watch.
Civilians
Spoiler
Civilians are people who are just living within the city. They could be vampires, wizards, or just a random person who has become aware of the presence of mythical creatures.
Revolutionaries (Wizards only)
Spoiler
The revolutionaries are people who have become tired of the oppression of magical beings. They are planning to make the presence of wizards known throughout the world. Whether it will be a peaceful movement or a hostile takeover is entirely up to the members.
Colony members (Wizards only)
Spoiler
Ever since their deportation in the mid-'90s, these wizards have lost all their knowledge of the modernized, outside world. They could either still be in their self-sufficient colonies (with no knowledge of electricity, technology, or medical skills), or they could've wandered into the outside world.
There are also classes. They each have a certain set of powers and weaknesses. They are:
Wizards
(There are three sub-classes for this)
Shamans -
Spoiler
They are capable of manipulating the natural elements with a wand. They can control the static electricity in the environment to create lightning bolts, ignite the oxygen in the air to create fireballs, etc. The problem is, all their power lies within their very fragile wands. Without the wands, they are no different than any other human.
Psychotechs -
Spoiler
If you gaze into their eyes, they can get into your head. They can read your deepest thoughts, erase and plant false memories, and they can easily assume control of your mind. The few that have joined with the agency have been proven as significant members. However, they can only use their powers if you look directly into their eyes. Any interference such as sunglasses will render their powers useless.
Enchantment casters -
Spoiler
Their form of magic is very unknown, to the point where those who specialize in it aren't exactly sure how to use it themselves. Reports have shown they have made walls easier to break, healed a badly burned human, created flying cars, and have aged people greatly. Enchantment experts prefer to only use their powers as a last resort, as even the smallest things can lead to catastrophic results.
Vampires
Spoiler
Being soul-less immortals without much of a conscience, they don't really care much for humans, wizards, or the agency. They range from apathetic people who merely ignore everyone, to those who enjoy feasting on blood and making others suffer. And because of the notoriety of those types of vampires, they are all on the Agency's "To-Kill List".
Their weaknesses include: Multiple bullets to the heart, the sun, fire, and acid. While they are capable of rapid healing, they cannot reattach any dismembered body parts, and decapitation means instant death.

Humans
Spoiler
Do I really need to explain them? They are normal people, and they have no special powers. While it is uncommon for a human who is not part of the agency to become aware of their paranormal surroundings, it has happened before.
Rules
Spoiler
-Standard YWS rules.
