Dexter Trace~ Stealth Fledgling

I'm not very found of being tied up or thrown around. That said, this night may very well be the worst night of my entire life. Strange men took me from my bed, gagged me, tied me up, and threw me into what I was 99% sure to be a rape van, but when my clothes stayed on and my body lasted five minutes without being violated was relieved -I'm not gay- but also confused. If they weren't here to rape me, and they haven't killed me yet, that left two options: torture, or only God knows what.

The car -rape van, truck, whatever- stopped a while later, I'd already fell asleep and woke up twice before I was manhandled again and thrown onto unusually soft grass. The binding on my arms and legs were cut off and I had a thought that I should run for it, but soon thought better of that concept. I wasn't alone. Next the blindfold was removed and a bright and pure light burned the sight out of my retinas.

Once my vision cleared I looked around at the people that looked jut as confused as me and also the landscape. It was like we'd stepped into a movie, or some different world. Everything was so disgustingly beautiful.

We were only given seconds to look around before a man approached us with a small group of people trailing behind him.

"Hello," he started, his voice low, deep, and smooth. "My name is Mr. Varnes."

"Wow," I sputtered loudly, anger boiling inside of me quickly, "I really don't give a shit who you are! Where am I and why am I here?!"

"Careful with the temper," he replied just as casually, "you don't know if I'm here to kill you or not."

Needless to say, that shut me up quick. My mouth was closed, but my eyes were still narrowed. My nerves were on end.

"Like I said, before Mr. Trace interrupted me-"

"How do you know my-"

"Silence, child. I am Mr. Varnes, and, I warn you, what I say next is going to be hard to believe. You are on planet Autre, home to the mighty Jaanvar and Tiers races, aliens, you humans might call us. However, I think you might haste to use that word when referring to yourselves. Those of you I've gathered here today are decedents of the Jaanvar race, my race, and this is your home."

There's a general stir, and Varnes expects this so he waits patiently before ordering us to quiet down. However, some of us aren't so easily calmed.

"Prove it," someone yells.

It's then that Varnes draws attention to the black box I never really realized him holding.

"When I open this box your Jaanvar mark, that spiral black thing you never really understood, will glow and burn slightly. This is how you will know I tell the truth. There is a war starting here on Autre and we need your help, fledglings. Please, fight for your home country. You can't get back to this Earth planet right now anyway, so why not help?"

Before anyone could really process this information, even myself, Varnes opened the box and instantly my whole back started to burn where my "strange oversized birthmark" was placed. I hissed at the minor pain and glared yet again at that Varnes guy. He looked smug.

"Depending on the color of your glow, please line up next teachers behind me with the same glow as yours. If you can't see your glow, I will assit you."

"Wait a minute," I yelled. "You can't just order us around. We know nothing about this! Nothing about you."

"I believe your mark is on your back, Dexter, the color is blue. You're a stealth, figures, please join your teachers."

"This is unbelievable!"

"That's a pity. I hoped you would have started believing by now."

Jordan Stien~ Stealth Fledgling

My night had started out normal, to say the least. I had gone to bed at my normal time, did my normal routine, and was ready for a normal night of sleep. Only this night was derterminded not to be normal. I was sleeping peacefully in my soft bed, when suddenly there was no bed anymore. My sleep clogged mind figured that I had just fallen off the bed. Oh, how wrong I was.

I tried to move to stand, but a hand suddenly grabbed my shoulder and effortlessly rolled me on to my back. A weight then appeared around my mid-section. Fear bubbled it's way up through sleepy mind. I was now fully alert to the man that was sitting on me and holding me down, while another person started to tie my mouth shut, my hands and feet together and then cover my eyes. I tried to scream, to make some kind of noise, but nothing was loud enough. My parent's bedroom was upstairs and my little sister's was down the hall. At the thought of that, I automatically shut-up. If I made too much noise my sister would hear and come check on me. I could not bare the thought of her accidently getting hurt because of me.

I felt myself leave the floor as they both picked me up. Unexpectedly the air around me turned cold, we were outside. It then got darker and colder. I figured they must have put me in some kind of car. This was then confirmed by the roar of an engine. After driving a little while, the vechial stopped. I was dragged out and cut free. The last thing they cut was my blindfold.

I took in my surroundings rather quickly. Everything was beautiful. There were also other kids scattered around me. All just as confused as I was. A man approached us.

"Hello," he started, his voice low, deep, and smooth. "My name is Mr. Varnes."

A kid a few feet away from me exploded with rage, yelling and cursing at the named, "Mr. Varnes".

I listen as Mr. Varnes gave his little speech, saying we are on a different world and that we were aliens.

"Prove it!" I shouted.

And prove it he did. My Side was throbbing like someone had placed a hot skillet against my bare skin. Without even thinking about it, I lift up my sleep shirt. There glowing a bright blue, was my birthmark.

"What the..." I murmured.

Johnny Han~ Catastrophe

I don't like pain. I've never liked pain. And I really haven't been a frequent visitor of pain either. This burning on my neck is the worst thing that I've ever felt in my entire life. I scream the loudest, of that I'm sure, but I quickly toughen up. The glow is red, it's so bright, and I immediately approach the other teachers glowing red. The watch me closely, the lady is very pretty and is smiling nicely at me. The man is smiling too, this might not be as bad as I first thought.

"My name is Johnny."

The lady holds out her hand and I take it quickly, offering a smile of my own.

"My name is Mar," she begins, "and this is Jack. We'll be you Catastrophe teachers."

"Catastrophe," the other "fledgling" asks. I throw him a quick welcome smile and focus my attention back on Ms. Mar.

"Catastrophe is a branch of Jaanvar magic. Destruction is the style. Fire, lightning, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. We destroy things. We specialize in strength, and we must always fight."

My stomach tightens and the color drains from my face.

"I don't believe in violence," I mumble, "I'm a pacifist."

My voice is so low, though, I'm not sure that she heard me. Emotions bubble up inside me and as Ms. Mar and Mr. Jack are giving instructions I can't pay attention. Everything come crashing down on me at once.

I was stolen from my bed, transported to this planet (my planet!), and ordered to fight in a war. What type of crap was this?! Tornadoes and fire? That is the complete opposite of me. How am I a Catastrophe?

I look over and catch a glimpse of the people who's marks glowed gold. I should be with them...

Elia Tross - Spirit

I'd been snatched from my bed. Swearing the whole trip to the van or truck or whatever I'd been stuffed in, I fought against my bindings and tried to break free. It was all in vain though.

Now, I am here, in a beautiful land supposedly my true "home". A new planet. I am an alien. It explains a few things...

The skin between my shoulders burns and I grimace, looking around to find everyone else in almost the same amount of pain. A few are glancing around too, wondering the same thing. My eyes meet that of a boy, approached by two adults, and I see a blue mark on his neck. I crane my own neck around and catch sight, before my vision dims a bit from the struggle, of golden light. Others around me are the same.

All I can think is What the hell am I glowing for?
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up

Mara

I looked around at all the Spirit Fledglings. So many! I thought. I may as well introduce myself.
"Hello! I am Mara, one of your Spirit instructors. I may look young but I am extremely powerful so don't get me mad." I called to the spirit fledglings.

(Sorry to cut this post short but I kinda shouldn't be online at the moment. SORRY!)

Sorry I took so long!

Niari - spirit fledgling

I had a poor night even at the start. I hadn't been able to sleep, since it was the night before my birthday and I was thinking too much. When the door opened, I pretended to be asleep, thinking it was my parents.

But there were about five sets of feet on the wooden floor.

When they reached my bed, I leaped up yelling. I thought I hit somebody, but no one so much as grunted. After that, I didn't' stand a chance. I wouldn't have stood a chance against one person, in reality. I was bound, gagged, and thrown in the trunk of a car. Panicking, I thrashed until I realized that there were other people with me. I was glad I hadn't worn my night gown as we were bounced up and down, left and right.

Finally, the trunk opened, and I squinted against bright whitish light - daylight.

Our kidnapper introduced himself. My heart sank to my stomach as he told us where we were. My friends. My family. Will I ever see them again?

All of a sudden the back of my hand hurt like heck. I gasped in pain and stared as the spiral mark on the back of my hand glowed gold.

Still holding my hand up, I looked around at the others. They were grouping together by color, some more quickly than others. I found the other golds and joined them.

A woman spoke up. "Hello! I am Mara, one of your Spirit instructors. I may look young, but I am extremely powerful, so don't get me mad."

That sounded like a threat, but I ignored it. "What does Spirit mean?" I asked her. "Where are we really? Why did they take us from our homes?" Just at that thought I had to fight tears. I can't cry now, not in front of everybody. "I don't understand," I finished weakly.

Mara

"What does spirit mean?" a young girl asked.
"Spirit, I began, "is the power of the mind and soul. Telepathy, visions and healing are all powers of spirit welders."

Come on, somebody else post! I don't want this to die!

Niari - spirit fledgling

"Spirit is the power of the mind and soul," Mara answered. "Telepathy, visions and healing are all powers of spirit welders."

That prospect would have been great if this all wasn't happening so fast - and if it was happening at my home, with humans, instead of this weird place with strange people who kidnapped me and were spewing out these unbelievable things like they were stating the weather. "So... what are we supposed to do?" I asked, instead of voicing that. "Are we like medics or something? Do we... do we have to fight? I just want to go home."

"So...what are we supposed to do?" the same girl asked, "Are we like medics or something? Do we...do we have to fight? I just want to go home."
"I understand where you are coming from because I too was bought here in the same manner but I was only 6 years of age. Now listen, what is your name?"
"Niari." She said.
"Well, Niari, I am choosing you to be one of my personal apprentices." I said. " tomorrow you shall meet me here, understand?"
"Yes miss." She replied.

Niari

"I understand where you are coming from," said Mara, "because I too was bought here in the same manner, but I was only 6 years of age. Now listen, what is your name?"

I hesitated, then decided that it couldn't hurt. "Niari," I said.

"Well, Niari, I am choosing you to be one of my personal apprentices," Mara told me. "Tomorrow you shall meet me here, understand?" I nodded.

"Yes, miss," I added quickly, remembering what she'd said about making her angry. Personal apprentice! Wait until Mom and Dad -- oh. I remembered that I'd never see them again, and my heart sank again.

Are you still accepting new writers? If so...

Name: Val Faraday

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Class: Spirit fledgling, specializes in energy, particularly magnetism

Appearance (picture and description please): (Don't have a picture--sorry, I can post one later if you need more characters) Val is five feet nine inches tall, athletically built, and strong for her size. She has long, dark brown hair, which she ties back out of her eyes in a ponytail, or sometimes a sloppy bun. Her face is angular and stately, her nose is straight, and her deep gray eyes give her a steady, intense gaze. She usually wears dark colored sweaters, jackets, or turtlenecks, and some sort of practical running shoe. Her long stride and the way she holds her head (as well as some skill in acting) make her an imposing figure.

Personality: Around people she trusts, Val is open and amiable, and always enjoys a good laugh. Around strangers, however, she is wary and reserved. She tends to be very secretive, especially with her emotions and memories, but with a little work, she'll relax. Although she hasn't mastered her abilities, she is confident in what she can do, which can make her seem egotistical to those who don't know her well. She's a little edgy, and sometimes sarcastic, but often doesn't mean what she says. Val is tough on the outside, but she hides a lot of pent-up emotion, and it gets the better of her sometimes. She is quite protective, and values friendship more than she appears to. If one can get past the hard exterior, Val is a very supporting companion.

History (optional): Val's parents were loving and encouraging, but died in a car crash when she was nine years old. That was when she discovered her abilities--she threw her hands up when the car was hit, and the magnetic field saved her life. She was taken in by a distant relative, but her new family was very controlling, which led to a series of nasty arguments as Val got older. She would often stay in her small room, trying to make the magnetic field appear again. She found that she could manipulate weak magnets, but couldn't generate anything stronger. After a particularly vicious fight with her adoptive parents, Val made an escape plan. She was in the process of rappelling out her window and down the side of her house when she was kidnapped and taken to Autre.

Other: Open for love, but may take a little work. Her mark is on her right shoulder.
