Word War Tournament

Has YWS ever hosted a Word Wars Tournament? Regardless of the answer, I propose that we have one!!

We could have each YWSer who wants to be involved randomly put into different divisions (depending on how many people there are) and then we could have an awesome bracket-style tournament! I volunteer to help put it together, sort people into divisions, etc.

Anyways, I know that a lot of YWSers, myself included, have never done a Word War before, so this could be a good way to introduce people to a great writing tool (wrong word?)!

So if there are people who want to do this and there is organization needed, I have some ideas as to how the thing would be run and such. Just throwing that out there. I'm really excited.

So what think the powers that be?

Taran: He will not succeed in this. Somehow, we must find a way to escape. We dare not lose hope.

Fflewddur: I agree absolutely, your general idea is excellent; it's only the details that are lacking.

Ooh! I'd totally love to participate.I've had loads of word wars. They're so fun! If other people are needed to run it, I don't mind volunteering to help out :D

I've got an idea. Perhaps every two Saturdays at say 2 PM, we could all meet in chat room A for word wars?

If I were to have a super power, it would be to time-travel, so that I could turn back time, and erase your very existence.

I think we should definitely try this out before scheduling a regular tournament.

BUT. I really, really, really love this idea. I'd be on board with helping out in arranging it, but I'm definitely participating if it gets put up. This is a really wonderful idea, Pork!

I would feel obliged to not officially participate :p But I'll gladly join in just for getting the words down and help with any organisation.

Time zones would be awkward, a bit of research into what time and day yws is most active might work.

Ooh, I'd be up for this. :D
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

Pffft. Tenny, you'd have to. I'll make you! You know you want to!

Also, the tournament could happen over the course of a week, too. Certainly an idea if it works better than a Saturday, but I think just the Saturday would probably work out best if you've got a good idea when to hold it. I belieeeve an afternoon time in GMT welcomes activity in America and Aussies, but don't quote me on that. I didn't look anything up in time converters.

And yeah, I really just wanted to post and tell Tenny she should join. How else do you get dubbed the reigning champ of word wars?!

That's my SparkleDoubt! 8D *snugs with joy*

See, Tenny? You must participate. Must. It wouldn't be a Word War Tourny without you!

Poetry is my cheap means of transportation. By the end of the poem the reader should be in a different place from where he started. I would like him to be slightly disoriented at the end, like I drove him outside of town at night and dropped him off in a cornfield.
