Well, title says it all. Which songs or maybe specific lyrics inspire you?

For now.. "Thinking how it used to be
Does she still remember times like these
To think of us again?
And I do."

Tangerine just kills me.

I'm sorry if that kind of thread already exists.
there's a feeling I get when I look to the west, and my spirit is crying for leaving.

Hey "TheRose".

I'm going to have to represent on this one. Jimmi Hendrix. I've been pretty much going over his songs and lyrics and uncovering what they really mean and I've been blown away.
An example is one of his songs "Castles Made Of Sand"

Down the street you can hear her screaming you're a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries. oh girl you must be mad
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green.

And so castles made of sand fall into the sea, eventually...

Ah, that just takes my breath away because it effortlessly says a lot and I love it! There's plenty more where that came from. Hendrix was a genius. :) And hey, they're kind of similar to your lyrics, the first verse that is...
The best is what you make it!

"You shut your mouth
How can you say
I don't like things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does"

How Soon Is Now? by The Smiths. One of the best songs ever.

Country songs, honestly. So many of them are so true and honest, I can't help but be somewhat inspired.

@ziggiefred: Jimi is a legend for sure. His lyrics, his melodies, his style.. everything. You really got to love him :)

And as for the country songs that's so true. There are quite a lot country artists that deserve more attention!

If only she could feel my pain
But feelin' is a burden she can't sustain
So like a summer Thursday I cry for rain
To come and turn the grass to green again.
there's a feeling I get when I look to the west, and my spirit is crying for leaving.

Seize the day, or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
These's streets we traveled on will undergo our same lost past

I found you here, now please just stay for a while
I can move on with you around
I hand you my mortal life, but will it be forever?
I'll do anything for a smile, holding you 'til our time is done
We both know the day will come, but I don't want to leave you

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
(a melody, a memory, or just one PICTURE)

I always wanted to listen to Avenged Sevenfold, but they always sound so similar to other bands of these days.

I always thought they were several steps above other bands of the genre. One of the best bands there is. But that's just my opinion.

Jessie J - Who you are. The lyrics that inspire me the most from it are in my signature. Just makes me want to be proud to be me, no matter how hard it seems sometimes.
'Stop wishing for the sunshine. Start living in the rain.' - Kids In Glass Houses.

'Would you destroy something perfect in order to make it beautiful?' - MCR artwork.

Start Of Something Good
By: Daughtry

you never know when you're gonna meet someone
and your whole wide world in a moment comes undone
you're just walking around then suddenly
everything that you thought that you knew above love is gone

you find out it's all been wrong
all my scars, don't seem to matter anymore
coz they lead me here to you

i know it's gonna take some time
but i've got to admit
that the thought has crossed my mind
this might end up like it should
i'm gonna say what i need to say
and hope to god that it don't scare you away
don't want to be misunderstood
but i'm starting to believe that
this could be the start of something good

everyone knows life has its ups and downs
one day you're on top of world
and one day you're the clown

well i've been both enough to know
that you don't wanna get in the way when its working out
the way that it is right now
you see my heart; i wear it on my sleeve
coz i just can't hide it anymore
i know it's gonna take some time
but i've got to admit
that the thought has crossed my mind
this might end up like it should
i'm gonna say what i need to say
and hope to god that it don't scare you away
don't want to be misunderstood
but i'm starting to believe that
this could be the start

coz i don't know where its goin'
there's a part of me that loves not knowin'
just don't let it end before we begin
you never know when you're gonna meet someone
don't wanna be misunderstood
but i'm starting to believe that this could be the start

coz i don't know where its goin'
there's a part of me that loves not knowin'
just don't let it end before we begin
you never know when you're gonna meet someone
and your whole wide world in a moment comes undone

i know it's gonna take some time
but i've got to admit that the thought has crossed my mind
this might end up like it should
i'm gonna say what i need to say
and hope to god that it don't scare you away
don't want to be misunderstood
but i'm starting to believe that
this could be the start of something good
Every hello is the prologue to the knowing farewell, so make as many stories as you can:)

Can you count albums? Because I find OK Computer inspirational, musically but not lyrically.

This Swedish Band, Broder Daniel, they sing awfully false but it's somewhat loveble and I adoooore their lyrics.

Draft from SHORELINE

I'm not the boy that I used to be
This town has got the youth of me
All the eyes turn hollow
From the work of sorrow
You die young

Draft from NO TIME FOR US
What is worthwhile in the world
If you can't be with the one you love
what is worthwhile
we’ll be forgotten when we're gone

Draft from ARMY OF DREAMERS
We’re the army of dreamers
we’re the idle people
we’re the ones
that make no sound
waiting in the background

Draft from HARDENED HEART
I thought I was weak
But now I’m all steal
I thank no one
And no one thanks me
The more you pressure me
The stronger I get
Behind every cynic
Lies bitter dreamer

Draft from ONLY LIFE I KNOW
I watch the days go by
while life is on standby
but I’ve got no more time to give
we all die, but not all live

Draft from HAPPY PEOPLE NEVER FANTASIZE
You get so used to being sad
you never try to be glad
you get so used to being sad
but happy people never fantasize

Draft from BURN HEART BURN
Why is it so we die just as copies
if it’s so we’re born originals

All of their lyrics inspire and get to me somehow :)
"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost

"Count to six and die." Although that might not have been the intention of the song, it made me think of how each year could be our last, in a sense... How each year is a possible ending ^^

Another quote, I think by Combichrist... "Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well." It just creeps me out, but is true ^^ We should enjoy as much of our life as possible.
I was Amareth :)

Wisdomatch, my current WIP, was greatly inspired by Taylor Swift's Long Live. Almost all of her songs have provided me with plot bunnies <3
