A Bike Ride

When I get on my
Bike,
I can pedal to my
Heart's content.
I glide down the hill,
As if there's no bumps
Or turns to
Avoid or to
Pass
Over.
On a shady day, there's
Sunshine, only but a
Patch.
I stay there, and soak
Up the warmth, like
I'd soak up love.
Then there is a
Hill.
I get to the top after
Pedaling, pedaling, pedaling
My troubles away.

Hi there!

I'm Molly, I'll be reviewing your work (as if that wasn't obvious already...)

I'll start by saying you've got some GREAT voice. You really know how to draw the images in the reader's head. My one overall complaint would have to be that you might make it a bit longer... I feel like there's much more to be said here. Bike rides aren't usually 30 seconds long, so why should a poem about a bike ride take less than 30 seconds to read? Of course, that is entirely your artistic choice, so I'll leave that to you. It's just an idea, though.

Now to the nit-picky part.

When I get on my
Bike, One thing I cannot stress enough (mostly because it's something I always did and didn't realize how bad it sounded until I joined this site) is line breaks. One word lines RARELY work. The best way to determine where you should start a new line is by reading your poem out loud, giving a short pause at each new line. If it sounds awkward, change it.
I can pedal to my
Heart's content.
I glide down the hill,
As if there's no bumps Grammar here: "As if there ARE no bumps"
Or turns to
Avoid or to
Pass
Over. Sorry, but once again, LINE BREAKS.
On a shady day, there's
Sunshine, only but a
Patch. Beautiful imagery. Absolutely exquisite. Expand on it, though. How does the lighting affect the overall scenery? How does it affect your vision? Your mood? Also, line breaks.
I stay there, and soak Stay where? It's a little unclear. Also, isn't this a bike ride? How do you stay in one place whilst riding your bike? Just a thought.
Up the warmth, like
I'd soak up love. EEEEEPPP!! I love this. Once again, expand a little. I want to hear more.
Then there is a
Hill. Line breaks
I get to the top after
Pedaling, pedaling, pedaling
My troubles away. Fantastic way to end the poem. A great resolution. :)

Overall, this is a lovely poem! You've really got some great material, and if you just expand on it a little more, and add more detail to the emotion and the scene, (and you fix the line breaks) you'll have a genuine masterpiece.

Keep up the great work!!

It's sorta ok but you need to make it rhyme more ore else it won't make sense.

Hey there. I don't know much about poetry but I thought this was pretty good.
I don't see why you used so many unnecessary line breaks. They just seem clunky and out of place. You could have keep it all in one line and not sacrificed the flow of your poem. Poems do NOT actually have to rhyme, contrary to popular belief. Most poetry does not. It is quite challenging to make poetry with fluid vocabulary and grammar, intense adjectives and adverbs, and a meaningful message.
Keep up the good work!
