Something I've done this Week

Hey guys! I've already posted this week but I have this piece I've just done that I really like, so I'm going to share it with you guys!
Here it is! (By the way, this is only like my fifth attempt at GIMP so I'm not very good with it)

Hey there!

It's really good! But here are the points you might want to impove on:

Her Hands: Look at her hand. It seems very oddly shaped and placed.
Her Hair: Under her left ear. That portion of hair there is just popping out. It is not really flowing in with the others.
The Under Part of Her Hair: It's just very -erm- not fitting. Look at the hair around her, and then the under part of her hair. Make it more detailed.
Her Tail: Shouldn't it be a little lower? :/

Well, I hope this helped. What I really liked is her face. Espically her eyes and mouth. I can never seem to get that right. Well, I can't draw, so I can't get anything what you've drawn right, but then yeah You're really good! Just a few mistakes here and there, but that happens to everyone. Well done!

You made the body very elegant, now if you could do the same with the face you could have a piece of art.

All together very cute, but a few proplems
1. If you're going to put creases in her outfit, do it on the side of the marterial. I know she's slim and beautiful, but the material has to show something to back up the creases.
2. There are someplace that you left white and blank. They're small, but enough of them could be very obvious.
3. in the middle og her stomach there is a white spot, but if that's supposed to be light, it's in the wrong place. You should put it up higher.
4. What's up with her hands? They look really out of shape and mishappen.
5.Then her tail lokks a little high up, don't you think?
That is all! But altogether, awsomely cute!

This girl looks familiar... is she form Kanon? Or am I off my rocker? xP

I really like this! I was really impressed to see you were only 13. You are definitely on the right track I can tell you are paying attention to shading and proportions and color, which are all great btw. It looks like you had fun drawing this ^_^

Although it seems like you shaded the clothes in the right areas, it looks kinda blotchy. Almost like the dark blue sections are stains and not shadows. I would try to blend those in smoother. The hair gets like that too, you can see at the tips it's dark and blotchy.

It feels like this girl's forehead is a tad too big. The bangs are really thin so it shows a a lot of skin that makes the forehead size even more noticeable. Manga head sizes are pretty difficult to get right, especially since there are so many styles, so just keep at it and use lots of references!

Cute expression, again I think maybe there are a few porportion issues in the head area but nothing too drastic. Try looking for a few manga face tutorials and practicing, those have really helped me out.

I really love how flowy the hair and ribbon look, good job!

All in all, I loved this! You did an awesome job I think your coloring was incredible. Keep practicing, you have talent!

Wow, that is absolutely amazing! I'm not any good with art, but this is great. I will say two things though: Her hands are a bit weird (it looks like a ball) and her hair on the far right side just under the cloud - there's a dark area of hair. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be there as it doesn't make sense.

So the first thing I wanna throw out there is that a manga style drawing is great in the way that you really get to do whatever you want. Especially with the hair. Anime hair is like magic. You can do whatever you want to it. The little tuffs of hair sticking out? Doesn't matter. It's anime! their hair has a natural secretion of gel to hold it up. Works great ;p Colors and shading don't have a whole lot of rules for it, either. The only keys to it is that they just need to blend together smoothly so we as the viewer don't get too confused. But, of course, you can always be like me and forget about the viewer because you draw for yourself. Not someone else.

The proportions to the face are actually correct. The reason why the forehead seems large is because the hair starts higher up than most people would draw it, but there's not a real rule as to how high up the hair line should be. People are different. I mean, look at Code Lyoko. Those kids had huuuuuuuge foreheads. One reason I never watched the show, though XD

The biggest problem I had with your drawing is the clothing. I understand you had a reference, so I'm not sure how they had done the shading, but on your version of it it's very hard to tell exactly how your character is standing. Based on how the bust is drawn, it looks like a 3/4 view for the body. Even if the reference didn't have a seam on the shirt, I probably would have added one so help tell how the body is being placed. When I recognized how the body was turned, I can safely assume the tail is placed correctly. Because she is happy, the tail is probably slightly raised, and the end blown slightly forward from the wind making the end appear higher up that it should be. To go back to the shading aspect of the shirt, it's very confusing to the eye. The wrinkles may be placed correctly, but it's hard to tell. Have more variation with the colors for shading can help give it a smoother look, as well as giving the fabric more depth to it. At the moment, her shirt looks too tight to have too many wrinkles, since the shirt isn't being blown off her body at all in comparison to her hair and the skirt.

I won't even go into the hands since it's already been pointed that they look funny, and I'm sure you can see yourself that they aren't quite right. But, hey, hands are hard! they're one thing that you'll have to work the hardest on, but you've got a lot of potential. The main thing I'd say is just color variation for your shading so it looks a little smoother.

How did you color it? If you don't mind my asking. The colors themselves are very pretty.
