Hope you'll enjoy it here. It's actually the best place to practice writing and develop your style. The best way to get reviewed is to review yourself, so don't be shy and go right in!
I think Sol covered it all... There's a partner system for newbies on this site that places you with a mentor if you desire one to ask your questions and be your friend. I'm pretty sure it's on the threads in the section 'Welcome Mat', where you posted your message. If your interested, it's there.
Hope to see you around.

If you joined YWS to improve your writing, you've made the best choice there is. Here you'll meet a lot of people willing to help you improve every aspect your writing style, all the way from punctuations to character development. They are always friendly and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask them questions, request review, etc. Once you get to know some people and know your way around YWS, you won't be able to stop coming here at least once a day.
Let me go over some facts about YWS.
Here we follow a reviewing system. When a user posts something, be that it may, poetry, prose, art & photography, scripts, they all are reviewed by at least one person. When someone reviews, they point out the flaws, mistakes, areas that need improvement and gives an overall look at whatever he/she posted. This is one of the ways that you can improve your work. Another way is to read some of the writing tips posted in the knowledge base Either way, you'll improve and become a better writer.
If you are feeling bored or tired of writing/reviewing, you can visit the lounge to have some discussions with the other members. Or you can visit this to just have fun with the other members.
Now, if you have any kind of questions, please PM me and I'll do my best to answer them. Or you can post them here and someone will definitely answer them.
So, I hope you enjoy your stay here in YWS.
Good luck

Hey there Danny! Welcome to YWS! I hope you like it here and that signing up on this site helps you grow as a writer. If you need your first review, click here! Feel free to ask questions if you have any.
What type of things do you like to write? What genre?
I hope to here from you soon and that you have a great time on this site, like the rest of us here!
Happy writing!
Peace,
- Mikko.

Well, I see you've already been greeted by a few members. I just wanted to hop on the bandwagon and lend a friendly hello, and to also say Welcome to YWS! I assume you're gonna love it here. It's probably the best place for young writers to really hone in on their skillzz.
But anyhoo, if you have any questions or whatever, feel free to holler my way. I'd be glad to help you out with whatever it is you may need. For the most part though I have no doubts that you'll find your way around easy enough. Mikko, Chirantha and Sol seemed to have already hooked you up with some helpful links. Those might be just as good as probably asking for help. xD
Also, on a side note, I see you're from Puerto Rico! Nice. I can't believe Sol didn't notice. Or maybe she did and just didn't say. She's from there, too. So you see you have another writer from your neck of the woods close-by. I, on the other hand, am quite literally miles away from Puerto Rico.
On another side note, you are the second Danny I've ever greeted. The first one, however, wasn't even a new member at all. He was actually a JMod in disguise. O.o JMods are the dudes in lime green. Watch out for them. They're amazingly sweet on the outside, but underneath. . . they hide their evilness. Kidding. (Possibly) No but really, they're quite awesome, and if you ever find yourself lost or in need of help or just full of questions, they're great dudes to turn to.
Well! I hope to see you around the site. Enjoy your stay at YWS, Danny.
I'm pretty sure the others have covered just about everything you could possibly want to know. Sooo, I'm just going to say that hi, I'm Rachael. Also: welcome to YWS.
