I'm a New

Hi everyone.

I'm new here. I write poetry, and I used to write a lot of short stories but they have faded a bit. I like to read and I know a lot about music and movies. I am 17 and I live in the United States.

There isn't much that I can say that won't be expressed in poems and posts soon, but I lurked for a while and now I think it is a good time to join.

Yay for lurking! I do that myself pretty often. Welcome to YWS. I can't wait to see some of your posts. I know this site is really great for getting inspiration. Who knows? Maybe you'll end up returning to short stories after a time, not that there's a particular reason to outside your own enjoyment.

Hi there Arryn, I'm C and Welcome to YWS

So you are a poet. I'm not much of a poetry person, mainly because I'm extremely bad at writing them, and also because my talent is in writing prose.

I'm glad you joined YWS, because you can get lots of inspiration from the users here. They are friendly and always helpful. So, don't be afraid to ask them questions, request reviews, etc. You'll be accepted by them in no time.

So, let me go over some of the basics.

Reviews can be requested in two ways. First, you can PM a specific user and ask him/her to review it. Or you can post in a thread in Will review for food Don't worry, you don't need to pay them with food for the reviews. Then again, some of the users do ask for food.

If you are feeling bored or want to discuss something, you can visit the lounge There, you can ask for homework help as well. Pretty neat right? Also, if you want to meet people with similar interests as you do, you can visit the clubs page and join a club that you so desire.

But, my favourite part of the site is the storybooks section This is where you join a storybook started by a user, create a character and write the story in the character's view point. It's sort of like co-operate writing, but here the plot is twisted and changed on the fly and all the people who are in the storybook, write their posts by connecting their character to the posts written by others. It's quite fun to do, and you get to see all the different ideas of people.

Now, if you have any questions, PM me, or one of the moderators (the people who are green) and they/I will try to answer them the best that they/I can. Also, you can post any questions you have, here.
