Spoiler
Since I've had little inspiration to post anything else just yet, my craving to post fell on art.
Some of these are a bit rough, and the line quality is a bit sketchy, but they're a little older.
You'll also notice by reference that I'm quite the lazy background artist... <3

About that last one, I stand behind the theory if you can make great lines, you can make a great picture. And also: I should totes be a clothing designer. ;]

What can I say.. awesome sketches! They're all showing your artistic talent and love of the retro style. However if you're seeking a critique here it goes:

Dry Rose: Well, the sketch seems to be a pretty well-drawn one for a dry wilted rose. Like how you drew those crushed-looking leaves. The shading is good, except for the rose petals, you need to work more on it by adding more details and shades in it to define well its shape.

Thomas Edison: I will be commenting on the posture more than his facial features because honestly I know nothing about Edison except he is the inventor of the light bulb :D So, back to the posture; it is seems that he is sitting on air. In other words, the sitting position is not so well drawn. Also, there is something wrong with his right leg for it looks quite skinny. I know the hands are one of the most torturing things to an artist, but, keep working on his hand and the fingers.

20's dude: I LOVE this sketch! There is so much to see in that man's face. This has been so far my favourite of all.

Pretty lines: Love how you focused on the feminine curvatures more than the outfit itself. It looks simple and elegant at the same time. (Glad I found another YWSer who is a fan of fashion art)

Your sketches are really great, keep on drawing. I'd be delighted to see more of your sketches.

I liked these a lot the cool 20's dude made me think of my little brother minus the drink and ciggeate (lol) And I like how the last one is mostly mad of lines and I still couldn't half way draw it. The last one is my favorite I just love the dress and the hat!

Hey there, Smylin'!

You have some amazing talent, I can totally see that and you know your stuff which is also great. Why haven't I crossed more of your artworks beforehand? I don't understand. Anyway, I'm here to provide a quick review for you. ^^

Dry Rose:
I always found flowers to be the nasty ones to draw because of the texture and the petals that seemed to be ever so complicated. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to drawing from references so I always make sure not to pick flowers because then I'll end up wasting three hours constructing the outline of how each and every one of those petals falls upon the next. With that said, your not so bad. But the opening of the flower looks more like one of those red flowers that try to eat you in the mario games rather than something that has tightly enclosed petals. Yeah, it's hard but it's not bad. I like the way you drew your leaves. Those are done rather nicely I must say. What needs to be worked on a little more would be the smoothness of the drawing, it seems kind of rough right now with the shading.

Thomas Edison:
I like drawing people so this one is one of my favorites out of the four. It's very sketchy and has a nice feel to it and as far as proportions go, it's neat and realistic. Since it has that sketchy, edgy feel to it, your sketching looks amazing with it and it does a great job at giving the picture some artistic feel - my word for something I can't really explain. Overall, the hand does need a teeny, tiny bit of work since it looks a little small or like your pencil wasn't sharp enough at some point. Anyway, it's nothing much. This is a great picture.
Some cool 20's dude:
Some cool 20's dude is very cool, indeed. However this picture looks like it was quickly done just to get it over with. For example his jacket is matching in shade with the couch(?) I think it is a couch and the bottle doesn't have a shadow nor does his face show any signs of dimension. Maybe there are, I see a little bit of it but it's too light... So yeah, this might need some more love.

Pretty lines:
Pretty lines is most definietly pretty lines and I agree with you. Make great lines, make great pictures. True. My art teacher said the same thing to me once a long time ago. lol.
Anyway, yes, you should also be a clothing designer. I'd wear that dress, aha. Anyway, these are some nice lines that make a fine lady but her hands a little small but eh, it's lines. It's still very pretty and I like her hat. Nothing much to say about this one though.

All in all, these are some really great pictures and you have great talent. Keep drawing and sharpening that talent so we can see some more great artwork in the future!

Best wishes,
-Shear

I really love the dry rose picture because its just so pretty. Even though its dead it still has that nice quality. I also really like the last picture of the woman. Its very mysterious yet simple it makes me smile. Good work!

Ahhh i love the last one, and yeah you should, i really want you to make a real clothes design from the front though, and if you ever get around to doing that please do tell me i would love to see it. Your rose is awesome except for the rose petals if you could it would be a little better with defined lines to see the petals clearly. :D
Your a natural i love your work
