Blaze:
I look down at the feisty girl. She was shorter than me, which I’m not used to being 5 foot 3. My face is still red from talking to Liam. I haven’t talked to this many strangers in a long time.
“I was just going to the dormitory to unpack,” I blurt. The girl’s dark eyes thank me for the escape. I’ve never met a person who’s looks might actually kill!
She smiles at me. “I’ll help.” She doesn’t look at Liam as she strides out of the library. She walks amazingly fast with such short legs, I think.
“I’m really bad at maps and really good at getting lost,” she explains as we trot down the corridor, “which turns out to be a really bad combination. I’m Cassondra, by the way.” We start up the stairs to the second floor.
“My name’s Blaze.” As I say this my shoe catches on the hem of my uniform, a scarlet and gold dress with white lace embellishments, and I face plant.
“Damn it!”
Cassondra giggles. “Graceful,” she comments.
