Hey my name is Cameron, but you an call me Lesley... So my friend introduced me to this site and she told me it was an awesome place for young writers. I was just wondering if there was anything other that I needed to know about the site other tha the obvious FAQ's...

Hey, Lesley! Welcome to YWS!

I'm Ahmadblues but you may call me Mac. Or Blue. Or Blues. Or something else. XD What's your friend's username, if that's OK? She deserves a big YAAAAAY! for introducing someone to this awesome site.

We're all a crazy lot of people in our own ways but I think that's why everyone seems to like each other. It's great here! Here are three things I think you should know about YWS:
If you like something (as in give it at least a 3/5) then like it! Works with the most likes over a certain few days are featured on the front page like... MINE! A hand to hold - a 7/7 memorial.
Review regularly and you might get reviews back - you usually get lots of reviews if you wait a little bit - although I get extremely excited waiting for reviews.
Any opportunity to self plug should be leapt on Join the buddy system if you're new! You'll get a mentor if you're feeling lost. I myself am a mentor actually A mentor will review works, show you around and hopefully be your friend.

So, what do you write? I write Novels although I did try my hand at a short story and I got featured. I read virtually anything. What genres do you like? Personally, Action/Adventure, Thriller and Fantasy/Sci-Fi rule but I also read anything. I think most people are like that Do you do photography or write songs? We've forums for that as well.
