You say that im ugly
And all I do is laugh it off
You make fun of me
And I just shrug it off

You talk about my teeth
The space between them
And I know that before I’d seeth
But you see now, im proud of them

You laugh about my lips
You say that they’re enormous
My heart then flips
But they don’t stop me from being fabulous

You mock my behind
You say its in excess
But if I looked at you I could find
10 things full of horridness

You tell me the truth in a very subtle way
You say that telling me im pretty would only be a lie
And before I’d have been so full of dismay
And would have screamed to god: “Why Why WHY ???”

But you see im not the same
And this aint yesterday
Im not the girl so full of shame
Who used to cry all day

And its amazing how
I don’t even hate you
After all you’ve told me now
After knowing you’ll still continue

But its not that I don’t care
Its just ive come to accept the truth
Which once whipped me bare
And filled my heart with black sooth

And its also weird you see
This feeling in my gut
Every time you’re near me
My blood vessels seem to clot

Ain’t it just ironic?
That my heart should feel this way
Beat so fast and steady
When you’re near me everyday?

Knowing that I’ll never be yours
But still feeling like this
Knowing that your heart bores
Me no feeling whatsoever

And still feeling my heart
Beat in that ragged rhythm
Feeling him break apart
Like sugar does in magnesium

But then you aint the only one
Who’s laughed at my appearance
Who’s taken one look at me
And laughed his but off

So you see I don’t blame you
I don’t hold it against you
You don’t think im pretty
Its okay I’ll live with it

They never thought I was beautiful either
So don’t worry I dont hate you
You’re just saying the truth aren’t you?
But then aren’t they all ?

You all mock the way I look
‘Cause im not Ms-Blondie-Face
And you wont let me off the hook
Instead you all just increase your pace

YES! I admit
I aint Ms-Blondie-Face
Or Ms-Fan-Freaking-Tastic-ass
Or again Ms-Perfect-Boobs

Im not one of those gals
With faces that just knock you all senseless
Im not one of those gals
So full of prettiness

No. No. No.
Im just your average gal
With my features all natural

Im not some perfect chick
With a jaw-dropping-face

No. No. No.
Im just me you see
The gal with the dreams
The gal with a heart
Eternally hoping

I aint someone special
Its just me you all

So now when you tell me im ugly
Do you think it makes a difference?
When you make fun of me
Does it alter my appearance?

When you talk about my flaws
Do you see any tears?
When you tear my face apart
Do you see any fears?

I would know the answer.
No No NO!
I look at myself in mirror
But I already know what it will show

Don’t think my heart is stoned
Nah its far from that!
But its now honed
In a shape to fend off all your facts

Look im not Ms-Im-So-Strong
Or Ms-Ive got so much-self-esteem
Or again Ms-I-Don’t-Care-Whatever-You-Say

On the contrary
You cant believe the pain I feel
When you tell me im so ugly
You cant imagine all the hurt in which I reel

But ive come to look at myself
And not feel so much hatred
I thank God for who I am
Cause I know some aint as fortunate

Im not Ms-Bloody-perfect
But you aint no one to tell me
That im just full of ugliness
That im so freaking horrid

I don’t have that self-esteem
To not care bout what you say
But ive got enough control
To ward off your insults so cruel

Go on keep insulting
You’re not the one I’ll fall in love with tomorrow
When I’ll open my eyes someday
You guys wont be the ones next to me

So ive only got one thing to say
Keep on mocking me all you want
I’ll marry some day
And it wont be someone like you

Im done with your jeers
Your mocking eyes, and sneers

Im done with your mockery
I’ll always be me.

Very dramatic, really good I want more! I liked how you kinda wrote it like a poem. Maybe you should've proofread it a bit more. Smart use of words! I really loved this poem!

I see a few mistakes here. Like leaving an apostrophe out of "I'm" and not capitalizing the I when needed. I think there are a few moments where you could have used better words. Because some things just sounded...clashing with this. The poem has a deep meaning and I like it. But please just re-read and fix the mistakes:) I hope you write more!

You're new? Great seas! Why haven't you gone to the Buddy System yet?

You're dealing with writers. The words "normal" and "usual occurrence" do not compute.

I LOVED this poem. It's really good. The change in the character is beautiful. It's awesome. But, some sentences didn't flow right. But I LOVED the magnesium part. (lol) Keep on writing!

I haven't read many poems of this length, so bravo on pulling it off and keeping it interesting throughout! One thing that made this work three-dimensional for me was the repetitive use of the word aint. This poem reminded me of something I would actually write in a private journal. We have all been in that position when we just want to stop caring what people say about how we look or the little imperfections we can do nothing about. This poem really hit home for me.

Another one of my favorite parts was when you kept stating that you weren't Ms-Fan-Freaking-Tastic-ass. It shows the raw emotion we all feel when someone insults us. We all think, "Why can't you just get a life." whenever it comes up, and this says it without actually saying it. Very excellent job.

There were grammar mistakes that were a bit distracting...

You say that I'm ugly
And all I do is laugh it off
You make fun of me
And I just shrug it off

You talk about my teeth

10 things full of horridness

You tell me the truth in a very subtle way
You say that telling me I'm pretty would only be a lie
And before I’d have been so full of dismay
And would have screamed to God,“Why, why - WHY???”

But you see I'm not the same
And this ain't yesterday
I'm not the girl so full of shame
Who used to cry all day

And it's amazing how
I don’t even hate you
After all you’ve told me now

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone.
