Never be afraid to post your work on YWS! Someone (and I can't remember who. I apologize to whomever they may be, but all credit for this quote goes to them. ) once said "Young Writers Society is a safe place to fail." Everyone here is really nice and encouraging. In order to improve your writing, you have to put it shamelessly out there. It's like hiding your money in your closet instead of investing it in a bank; it will never gain interest.

That being said, we all want you to feel at home and comfortable in our community. If you want someone to help get you acquainted with the site, The Buddy System is a great place for that.

Tell us more about yourself! What genres do you like to read/write? Do you like poetry or prose? What's your favourite animal? Colour? Dessert?

I understand how you feel about posting things you write, I also felt extremely shy about others but this site helped me to have confidence in what I write and I think that you can develop this confidence too, with the help of fellow YWSers around here!
