I'm a Songwriter

Hello everybody. I am OrionRising. I have been one many sites like this one however lately I have grown bored with them due to the lack of songs to review. So I came here.

A little about myself:

I love emotions because for some reason they seem elegant in my eyes. I love anger and love and, especially, sorrow. I, however, try to shy away writing which contains cutting because I think has become a cliche and is overused. I also have learned that my life does not suck as I once thought it did. It was simply empty and remains that way. The only thrill I seem to get these days is in sports and writing. Furthermore, I would like to say that I absolutely hate introductions mainly because I completely suck at them.

Okay so, instead of actually writing more about myself I will make a quick list:

About myself
-I am quiet in real life and can't help but be shy.
-I am 15.
-I am teaching myself the guitar, as a matter of fact it is on my lap right now.
-I hate people who act like idiots and don't have any respect for themselves.
-I love music. My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Panic! At the Disco are my favorite bands.

About my Writing
-I usually write lyrics.
-I sometimes write short stories.
-I DO NOT write novels.

I'd love to see songs you write/have written. I love music. You're learning the guitar? Awesome. The only instrument I've ever gotten quite good at is the piano. x) The guitar always seemed fun, but I never really got into it.

Ahh, why don't you write novels? I'm so curious! I know...they are extremely hard to complete. But, you don't ever at least start novels (for example, write the first few chapters of one)? Haha. Anyways. What kind of short stories do you write? What kind of songs do you like to write?

Woo! I'm always happy to welcome a lyricist to YWS! In fact, I'm one of the moderators for that section, so I get to proudly boast that we have plenty of lyrics for you to critique and contribute to! ;)

I happen to love Panic! At the Disco. They were my favorite band back in 2005/2006, and I was just listening to their first album tonight. I wish I could write music like them, but gosh, they're brilliant. I'm a musician myself, actually. I wish I could say I was great on guitar, but I've really lost my touch. I play a lot of piano and a little bit of bass, though. I'm fluent in music theory, as well as any chord pattern language you can come up with. Hah!

I really hope you love it here on YWS--it's been really great to me, and I can securely say that it's the best writing site on the web. If you need help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask! Just drop me a line and I'll do my absolute best to fix you up!

There are several clubs on YWS for music. Musicians United is the one I'm following. You might enjoy it.

If you want some help getting to know the site, you can get a buddy from The Buddy System. It's a system in which an older member takes a younger member under their wing for a month, reviewing their work, answering any questions they may have, and introducing them to other members.

I'm Pink!

Welcome to YWS! Our community is awesome and we have some talented song writers on this site too.
I'm not really good at lyric writing or anything and the last time I made lyrics was when I was in eighth grade and it was for some school project. I wrote about empty streets, I think. Yeah...I'm just that lame.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site and stick around. I'd love to see more of you around here in the future. ^^
Also, if you need a friend or just feel completely lost in any forum just find me and send me a PM or scribble on my open wall. I'll be more than happy to lend you a hand. I know this place can be a little confusing at times so it pays to know someone who knows the tricks of the trade. Not that we really do any trading around here...hmmm.

Okay well I've been looking around a bit and I just figured out that "Lyric Poetry" is not the same a "lyrics." Well, looks like I'll have to write a review before I can post anything else. I might get to that at some point today but I don't know, I have a soccer game.

If you've posted a set of lyrics in lyric poetry, you can PM a moderator and they'll move it to the right forum for you.

Edit: Actually, it is still in lyric poetry, but the first person who reviewed it thought it belonged there so I'm gonna leave it there if anyone wants to check it out.
