1. What do you think are the main areas of energy conservation?
Hydro and oil. Anything oil-powered is pretty big.

2. What is the first thing our focus should turn to (with respect to conservation)?
Using more local resources. You save on shipping and have more control over your own resources. You're not affected by conflicts halfway around the world as much.

3. What do you think is the main problem related to energy conservation?
Basic greed. Also, the current infrastructure is rather set to the current, energy-squandering system. Also laziness.

4. Can you think of any ethical issues associated with energy conservation?
A few places require our business in oil and other resources we're trying not to use in order to support their economy. Also, not everybody can afford to use the new technologies, convert their houses to different power sources, or other misc costs associated with energy conservation. By forcing new technology to come in, you could create a deep divide between income brackets.

5. What pictures would you associate with energy conservation?
Wind turbines, green forests, an oil tanker, the Alberta Tar Sands, a sky so blue is has to must've been photoshopped to take out the grit.

1. What do you think are the main areas of energy conservation?
At least where I'm from, conserving water is a big deal. This is mainly because of the fact that it's a massive farming area so when water is being wasted by setting the washing machine for a large load when you're washing only a medium amount of laundry or when you let your automatic sprinklers run on a rainy day, you're wasting good irrigating water.

2. What is the first thing our focus should turn to (with respect to conservation)?
Gas for sure. I know I'm terrible about it because commuting is an important part of my survival. You can't just walk to the store for milk when you need it or drop your pay check off at the bank while you stole down main street. Those things are fifteen miles out of the way so to be able to conserve gas is huge.

3. What do you think is the main problem related to energy conservation?
People are lazy. If something is faster or more efficient one way, why do it differently. Why fix what isn't broken beyond use. For the first time in years, now that I'm in college and away from home, that I've been able to walk to pretty much anything I'll ever need. But driving everywhere is a hard habit to break.

4. Can you think of any ethical issues associated with energy conservation?
Again, this is very midwestern but I'm used to rural-ish living. People still believe that bigger is better. A family a few blocks from my school owns two hummers. And I just had to stop and ask myself, why? Why use these massive gas-eating machines when you could just as easily, ya know, get a bike or at least something more fuel efficient? But bigger is better is a way of life around these here parts. Another problem is that the options aren't as available around here. Towns are far and few between as well as resources. Energy-efficient options aren't as available in the midwest as they are in other parts of the United States.

5. What pictures would you associate with energy conservation?
Wind turbines come to mind most, mostly because there has only recently been a push in my region to use wind energy. Several local farmers have already started to move towards wind power and a trucking company that my grandfather used to work for has started using wind power to run their shop.

--I definitely think of solar power and wind power, but around here, Hydro is the leader, by far.

2. What is the first thing our focus should turn to (with respect to conservation)?
--I seriously think that focuses should be set on compromising between the detrimental and the helpful--baby steps, I guess. I mean, society isn't going to react well to shock factor, I think.

3. What do you think is the main problem related to energy conservation?
--Ignorance and the expense of change in the pockets of consumers.

4. Can you think of any ethical issues associated with energy conservation?
--Not really?

5. What pictures would you associate with energy conservation?
--Those little spiral lightbulbs that I have in my house. The ones that apparently use less energy.
