I got it a monkey version of Pat Buchanan heh.
We get off to the rhythm of the trigger and destruction. Fallujah to New Orleans with impunity to kill. We are the hidden fist of the free market.
We are the ink, we are the quill.

There is no point to having a mascot unless its something really cool like a dragon. It has to be one of those chinese dragons. :D :D

Dragons are a symbol of hope, which is pretty much what this site is. It critiques peoples' work and makes it better, with the hope of getting them published one day.

Dragon. They are cool and have played a big part in writing-mythology, anyone?

Vote dragon! Vote dragon!

*laughs* Yes, my dear Nate. Never make an option that you can't live with.

Especially when you have this many dragon lovers on the site. lol.

*adds her name to the list of those that voted dragon* But it has to either be the chinese dragons or the medieval wyvern. No mix of the two. *grumbles about the people that try to mix them and how terribly wrong those dragons come out*

What I don't think people realize, is that we're going to have to DRAW this mascot, and probably more than once, in various poses and positions, and all the while keeping the character model constant enough to make it look like the same character. If we have, say, a DRAGON, that is a much more complicated mascot than a monkey. It's also much harder to draw a dragon doing fun stuff like writing and reading and doing anytrhing other than flying and razing towns.

A CHIMP, however, is perfect for our mascot because it can basically do whatever a human can, and always look funny doing it. A dragon, for instance, would dwarf a book or a pencil, and a dragon sized pencil would just look weird. A chimp would be much easier to draw, and there's a ton of reference pictures of real life chimps that could be used to draw a chimp mascot, while there are no such pictures for Dragons. Each dragon that it drawn is a figment of the artist's imagination.

Looking at it form an artist's perspective, there are many more options available to us with the monkey than there are with a dragon. It would be much easier to put a chimp into a flash 'toon or a comic than a dragon, simply because they can interact with humans better, being in the same size range.

um...yeah.

EDIT: am I the only one that finds dragons totally cliche and overused in almost every part of human creativity?
Got YWS? I do.

imagine , a colour full inguana perched on the top left corner of the site .

and about the dragun, its used so much that if you type dragon in the web about a thousand defferent shipping companies come up , we're supposed to be the new generation right, so lets be original ( i.e iguana )

here's some other ideas , the rainbow penguin, the friendly troll, ehh..thestangly erotic dolphin or the gay camel and last but not least , a panda wielding a lightsaber, and if none of those suit you, the squid looks pretty cool.

Yes, I think we really need something original: I'm not sure that voting for an animal is the best way. I'd rather put it to our creative geniuses to come up with some sort of artistic-looking mascot, and see what comes out :)

Actually, Dono is right: a chimp would look good, and it fits in with Nate's personality ...
