These are pictures of a drawing I copied off from online. It looks really different from the original, I know lol.

Image

The hair is awful, yes lol There wasn't enough space on the paper because I drew it too close to the top of it. So with that said, I had to make up my own hair for the drawing which didn't come out as well as I had planned...

The shadowing on the hands were pretty horrible to me lol But hey, I tried :D

Here is the original picture I drew off of.

Well it's not perfect, but then again what is? It's amazing compared to other drawings I've seen, this is in general not just on this site. Are you going to put it in color?

Hi there. :D

So I see you drew this from reference. This is really cool. Although, I think you may have had a little trouble achieving a similar posture as with the original picture. But this isn't really a big problem, it's easily fixable to get little details like that right. I know when I was studying animation the trick was to draw loosely and get the proportions just right before putting any energy into details. Details are easy. It's the mapping of the drawing that's always the tricky part. Especially with this anime type style.

Also, if you look carefully at the face of the original character, you'll notice that she's sort of angled a bit downward, as with her body posture. When I look at your drawing, I notice the character tilting backwards a bit. As I mentioned before though, this is all an easy fix. You just have to map out your drawing properly before spending any time and energy into details. I find loose lines and shapes work best to suggest the general figure and placing of every body parts. Once you have that, you'll be able to make this appear more similar to the original once you start adding in the details.

As for my general impression of your drawing I think you did a nice job. But practice does make perfect and I think you could really be even greater at drawing if you spent a good amount of time studying your subjects and working to achieve stronger similarities. :D The ripples in the clothes were nice. It shows movement, and allows your character to not look so stiff. So good job with the shading and such, too. Though, some of the harder lines could probably use a bit more shading, just to blend more smoothly.

Anyway though, nice work! I really enjoy being as constructive as I can when it comes to art pieces, so I hope my advice may be of benefit to you in the future. Keep up the drawing!

I never really thought about putting color into the picture. I always thought that if I did that, it would throw the picture off and make it look worse lol. But I'll see if I can draw a different picture and put color into it to see how it would come out. Thankyou for the feedback.

Thankyou SmylinG for the detailed constructive criticism! Lol. I have seen that as a hardship as well. The details are quite easy, it's just the mapping out of the character when first drawing it. I know that the shape of the face is off and that drawing the posture of the picture is a difficulty of mine which I will try to improve on.

Hey UnknownLover! xD

Now, it's my turn to review! :P
Buhahaha!! Joking! ^^

Anyway, I guess you gave a good effort in drawing but not to be harsh or anything, It doesn't look like the picture and all! >.<
But, you gave in hard work! I'm very happy about that! ;D But you have to draw a little more carefully because you've missed some parts of the girl. (I don't mean body parts. Other parts. For example hair, etc.) And I can see that this picture is very hard to draw! Really. You need great hands to draw that picture. You should have gone for an easier one but Nah, that doesn't matter now :)

By the way, I love your avvie! :] It talks about being eco-friendly. I just love people who care for the environment. How can people be so rude cutting down trees and look at their comfort only? :( I feel sad for the environment always suffering and sacrificing for us. But I guess punishments are given to us my Mother Earth and we do deserve it for doing such ridiculous stuff! >.<

Ahem.. Erm... Yes... Back to the review. Lol. Just got distracted! =P

Anyway!
As you can see. Let's go this way - Top-Tip.

Hair-
For what you've drawn and the picture, can you see the difference there? You've drawn plain hair while the picture has fringes and ponytails which wasn't seen in you're drawing, sadly =( I know you tried your own hair but as you told, it didn't really come out well and I can actually picture what you mean... But it's alright =) Everyone has mistakes.

The Face-
Well, I should say the face came out broad and stuff but much better! Well done! Not bad! I like it! *thumbs up*. Woah! So many compliments? Eh,Eh,Eh? xD But the anime's face is actually slanted while your's is a little facing to us. I only find that as problem.

Hands-
Are you telling me the shadowing of the hand DIDN'T come out well?! Oh my god! No way! I never even thought it would be that way! It's the most beautiful thing you've done through the whole picture! Trust me! xD It came out great! Awesomeeee!!!!!! ^^

Legs-
Lol. They actually look like they've been colored black but you just wanted to give a little shading ;) It's good. I think the Hands and Legs were much better than the Top. ;D Really.. Keep it up! :')

Overall, just a bit changes here and there and I think this will be great! ^^
You have amazing talent! *claps*

I would give this a 8/10 but I know I'm not a judge or anything...
But just telling ^^

You did well!
Again, great work & Keep Drawing!

Lol Thankyou ChocoCookie! I'll keep your feedback in mind when I draw my next picture :D And I agree, I think the legs were the best out of the entire picture. I would have given it a 5/10 for critical purposes, but I'm no judge either. Lol

Thankyou again for the feedback!

I'm not an artist, so I can't exactly give you much technical critique, but seriously, I couldn't draw that for my life xD
If your hairs bad... You seriously don't want to see what I draw... My hair either looks like a rat's nest at worst or a bird's nest at best. Anyways, super duper props!! I always have like, this monster sized respect for people who do art, because of how difficult I know it is, and it must take tons of practice!! Keep on drawing! :)
