Hello everyone. I just started 8th grade, which has taken a bit toll on me. More homework. More tests. More stress. And above all, the CRTC Tests- To determine if we are to pass 8th grade of fail and stay back another year. Yipee. I'm getting so stressed. I recently moved, and I'm not use to all the harsh punishment and screaming teachers (The teachers are big time jerks) I now endure at my new school. I feel so out of place. Everyone says 'Yes Ma'm," "Yes Sir," but not me. I'm not from the South. It just feels so strange, and I hate the school itself...It feels very small, when it's not. The cafateria is the tiniest thing I've ever seen. I hate it....I want to SCREAM whenever I walk in. (Odd, I know, but it's just one of those things that really bothers me.)
Is this normal? That I feel this way? Will I ever get use to my new school? And has anyone taken tests like these? I just want to know if it's easy to fail them, or not. I'm so stressed out and school has just begun. I've already have ten quizes/tests in the first three weeks. I really need some help.

Hey, Hiccup. I will be honest in saying, everything will be just fine. (Believe me) I know middle school can seem completely overwhelming. Because when you're your age, it's all you know and sometimes it can feel like things completely suck and are destined to never get better. But, they always do. :] 8th grade is just another teeny tiny chapter of your life, and you have to strut through it with the best attitude possible if you want to get through to all the other awesome things that are waiting down the road.

I had my crappy share of 8th grade teachers as well. xP Who doesn't in middle school though? My history teacher was no joke. He was very blunt and harsh and great at putting you on the spot. He was Italian too, which made him very LOUD. But things eventually died down a bit, because I did what I had to do in his class. It's all they want is your effort. Middle schooler's tend to carry on a kind of attitude about them, (even if they're the best kid in the world) and a certain deviancy that in turn comes off as a threat to teachers. It's a no wonder they carry such a tough skin. Responding with ma'am or sir is just another little thing they like to see that they have your respect. Once they see that they do, they will respect you, too.

I actually think high school is a lot less anal and chilled down, so something to look forward to. 8th will be stressing at times, but it's not impossible to get through what they ask. (Or, at least 80% of what they ask ;) ) You'll get through it, and the shock of 8th grade will slowly but surely die down. Keep in mind that the school year has only just begun of course, and you have plenty of time to properly adapt.
