Although I would reviews, I wrote this piece for people to reflect on what they do and see if it glorifies God. Here we go!

T. J. Alufa

Earth.

‘‘Pass the cigarette, Jack.’’ She said; smoke snaking out of her parched lips. Jack looked at her with hazy eyes, addicted to the very core. He passed the cigar reluctantly, his hands shuddering with pleasure. She shoved it into her mouth, embracing the short moment of bliss before her troubles pulled her back to this world. ‘‘That’s enough Jane, it’s my turn!’’

Jane ran hard. She chewed vigorously on a strawberry flavoured gum, riding her mouth of any scent of the cigar. She entered the house, to the voice of her mother singing in the kitchen, ‘‘God is good, all the time...’’ She took a deep breath to suppress her guilt. ‘‘Mum, I’m home!’’ Jane shouted. ‘‘How was the church service?’’ Her mum asked with a hint of pride in her voice. ‘‘It was good! God is simply so great!’’ Jane said with a pang of guilt. If only she had gone to the service.

Here is a girl, whose parents are strong believers in God, teaching her in the ways of Christ. Sadly, as she grew older, her faith eroded away. Her life became a vessel for Lucifer. As her mother prayed, sang and danced, glorifying the name of God, Jane was drinking, smoking, giving her body pleasure, but killing her spirit man inside. She had one foot in sin and the other foot in God’s kingdom. But she had forgotten there’s no such thing as a middle ground.

‘‘Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand!’’ A man screeched on the streets, doing the bidding of the Lord Almighty. Jane walked past him with no trace of remorse on her face. She had jumped out of the window in the night, to meet Jack for a smoke and a drink and he had promised her something more. ‘‘The day of the lord is coming, please repent, I beg of you!’’ the man shouted. She ran. She serves only one master and no one else.

‘‘What are you doing Jack!’’ Jane screamed as Jack pulled expertly at her bra. They were both drunk and it turned out that Jack’s promise was to rape her. Right then, her life flashed before her eyes. From the time her mum was praying with her to the time she gulped down the alcohol bottle. Tears trickled down her eyes. She screamed as Jack raped her. Then, it was over.

Hell.

The smell of sulphur woke Jane up. She sprang up, all her senses at alert. Her nose carried the unwanted stench of sulphur, her ears popped, her eyes were watery and her skin tingled with heat; her body drenched in sweat. She looked ahead, a road stretched in front of her and the air was tense with apprehension. For whom? Well, she would soon find out.

‘‘Jaaannnee,’’ whispered a voice. The voice, though it was soft, sounded like an orchestra playing with different musical notes to form a symphony. A symphony of sorrow and pity. Jane shuddered and turned to see a being that looked like an angel. A beautiful creation, with wings white and pure. He was glowing with perfection. No doubt, this was the work of God. On his head was engraved the name Michal. Tears trickled down his eyes. ‘‘Jane, you broke my heart, I loved you, yet you left me and embraced Lucifer. I showed you abounding love. You were my bride but you chose him. I ran after you, screaming for your love. But you closed your heart to the sound of my voice. You served the one who has come only to kill, steal and destroy. I promised you abundant life but you spat it back in my face. You betrayed my love. Now look where your master brought you, to hell.’’ Then he went. Sorrow deep in his bosoms. Jane heard those words. She wailed, screaming for his love. But he never looked back.

‘‘Shhhhe isssss mine!’’ said a voice drunk in evil. Jane looked around and knew it was time. Fire consumed her. Burned her flesh but she never died. She screamed begging for it to stop. She begged for just a drop of water. But it never came. The fire raged on, burning her alive. Her body soaked in blood. Her eyes burned out of its socket. There was no end. It was a living death for eternity.
Tend your flame. It's what all we've got.

I think the theme here is obvious, and it's highly religious. That's perfectly fine, and I think you do a good job with some of your descriptions. You can tell that you are a gifted writer, but you need to consider that you can alienate an audience by being too direct with the authors opinions. You may believe in religion, or a higher grace, but you don't need to be so direct and blatant with the message. Sometimes people listen to the subtle messages more than the direct message. The thing you want to consider is that of character development. Right now your central protagonist is very flat and is not round. You need to develop her more as a character. For example, what makes her do the things she does. Is there some underlying hurt that she's gone through. Overall, I think this is a good first attempt and it can only improve with time.

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.

May you never steal, lie, or cheat. But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows. And if you must lie, then lie with me all the nights of your life. And if you must cheat, then please, cheat death.
